He added that after proper investigation, the 125 men have been cleared 
of any involvement in Boko Haram activities.<br /><br />
He, however, disclosed that those who have been investigated and found wanting would be prosecuted in the court of law.<br /><br />
“These cleared suspects being presented to you were, however, cleared
 by the military after a thorough investigations by the military of any 
alleged involvement or participation in terrorists activities in the 
recent attacks and killings experienced in Southern Borno state,” Col. 
Usman said.<br />

In his response, Gov. Shettima said that the action of the military will build trust between the army and the civil populace.<br /><br />
“It shows that the military are core professionals and know how to go
 about their duties. This will go a long way in building trust across 
the local people and the military,” Shettima said.<br />

He lauded the military for taking good care of the freed suspects, 
saying they look well treated and they do not show any sign of torture.<br /><br />
He advised those released to put behind any feeling of revenge, while
 calling on them to contribute their quota to nation building especially
 the return of peace.<br />

“Now that you have been absolved from any terror activity by the 
military, each and every one of you here in this Government House Hall, 
to exhibit good behaviour in your respective towns and villages; and 
should also assist the military by giving useful information on how to 
end this insurgency that has been with us for over five years.<br /><br />
“Islam does not condone the killings and destruction of people’s 
property. What is important is that all of you should go home and assist
 your parents, because most of you are youths that could transform this 
state into a better place to live in,” Shettima advised

Saturday paraded over 15 armed robbery and kidnap suspects including a robbery
gang which had caused the death of popular Nollywood actor, Clems Onyeka.</span></strong><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Addressing journalists at its
end of month press conference at the Police Headquarters in Asaba, the new Commissioner
of Police, CP Alkali Baba Usman, pointed out that the command is out to ensure
a drastic reduction of crime in all parts of the state. He reflected on some the

47 rifle magazines containing 56 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition from them.<br /> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">There was also the rescue of a
kidnap victim, one Abemu Gabriel, a teacher attached to Oruodo Primary School
in Ethiope East Local Government Council, who was abducted on October 5.<br />

The Police patrol team caught up
with the hoodlums who kidnapped him at Utiuyo village in Okpara and in an
ensuing gun battle which left some the criminals wounded, and one dead, the
victim was rescued unhurt.<br />

There was also the arrest of car
snatchers with a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number Delta KLK 16 XA
which was snatched at Bright Hope Street, Airport Road, Warri.<br /> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The Police arrested two
suspects, one Igho Okiemute and Onyemone Egiliga, while others escaped with the
bus which was later recovered at Isagba Road junction along Airport Road.<br />

Recovered arms and ammunition
put on display included locally made single barrel guns, live cartridges, pump
action rifle, AK 47 rifle magazines, English made double barrel gun, cutlasses,
handsets, ATM cards, jewellery and different vehicles.</span>
