The number of cases in the Ebola outbreak has exceeded 10,000, with 
4,922 deaths, the World Health Organization says in its latest report.<br />                 
Only 27 of the cases have occurred outside the three worst-hit countries, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.<br /><br />
Those three countries account for all but 10 of the fatalities.<br />
Mali became the latest nation to record a death, a two-year-old girl.<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
More than 40 people known to have come into contact with her have been quarantined.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6747821070134156749" name="more"></a>The latest WHO situation report says that Liberia 
remains the worst affected country, with 2,705 deaths. Sierra Leone has 
had 1,281 fatalities and there have been 926 in Guinea.<br />
Nigeria has recorded eight deaths and there has been one in Mali and one in the United States.<br />
The WHO said the number of cases was now 10,141 but that the figure 
could be much higher, as many families were keeping relatives at home 
rather than taking them to treatment centres. It said many of the 
centres were overcrowded.<br />
And the latest report also shows no change in the number of cases and 
deaths in Liberia from the WHO’s previous report, three days ago.<br />
Eight countries have registered cases in the outbreak. In West Africa, 
Senegal and Nigeria have now been declared virus-free by the WHO.<br />

In the US, the governors of the states of New York and New Jersey have 
ordered a mandatory 21-day quarantine period for all doctors and other 
travellers who have had contact with Ebola victims in West Africa.</div>

In Mali, authorities continue to try to trace anyone who may have had contact with the victim there.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The child had travelled more than 1,000 km (600 miles) from Guinea through the capital, Bamako, to Kayes.</div>

“The child’s symptomatic state during the bus journey is especially 
concerning, as it presented multiple opportunities for exposures, 
including high-risk exposures, involving many people,” the WHO said.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The girl’s mother died in Guinea a few weeks ago and the child was then brought by relatives to Mali.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita told French radio on Saturday: “We are doing everything to prevent panic and psychosis.</div>

“Since the start of this epidemic, we in Mali took all measures to be 
safe, but we never hermetically sealed ourselves from this.”</div>

my first child for. A year after I had my first issue, my then lover,

want to have kids for different men. But because we were best of

man, Mr Onwe Nwogbagami, who had a practice of threatening his wife, 
25-years-old Blessing Onyibe Nwogbagami with a machete each time they 
had a quarrel has had his life cut short by the spouse who could no 
longer take the threats with wifely humility.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="color: red;">SUN newspaper </span>reports
 that Blessing was arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command after 
killing her husband on October 13, 2014 with his machete at Ojegbe 
Amike Ugbodo, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. On the fateful day, Nwogbagami 
had in his usual manner chased his wife with his machete after they had a
 misunderstanding, threatening to deal with her. Blessing ran out of 
the compound. The man turned back and went to sleep in an uncompleted 
building.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">According to
 the Ebonyi State Police Commissioner, Mr. Maigari Dikko, Blessing came 
back, took the same machete and hacked Nwogbagami to death as he lay 
sleeping.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Dikko said she locked her husband’s corpse in the house for two days and then fled to the village of her husband.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">When Sunday 
Sun spoke with her at the headquarters of the Ebonyi State Police 
Command, gave her account of the tragic incident. She said: “My husband
 was fond of chasing me with cutlass whenever we have misunderstanding. 
Whenever he brings out his cutlass, I will run out of the house for him.
 On that particular day, October 13, 2014, I had a misunderstanding with
 him and immediately he picked up his cutlass and chased me out of the 
house. Later he went to an uncompleted building to sleep.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">“Then I said
 to myself before my husband will kill me, let me kill him first. While 
he was asleep I went to where he kept his cutlass and killed him. Then I
 ran to my husband’s village at Ntezi Nkaliki and told the kinsmen that
 I killed my husband.”</span><br />

the report, the villagers took her to the police station with her baby. 
Commenting on the incident, the Assistant Commissioner of Police 
in-charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Mrs. Justina 
Ogbodo said Blessing would be charged to court for murder. She also 
disclosed that Blessing’s baby would be handed over to Social Welfare

 I was not just as outgoing as I used to be. I was also busy developing 
other entrepreneurial ventures, which I can’t share publicly.</span><br />

collaborated with Olamide because we are from the same hood-Bariga, 
alongside 9ice, Reminisce and Lord of Ajasa. It is my first 
collaboration in many years. I wanted to identify with my Bariga fans, 
who have been disturbing and clamouring for collaboration from us. The 
feedback has been awesome. Atewo means clap. It is a celebratory song 
for people doing well in different walks of life.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The album is highly anticipated, when is it out?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It would be 
released sometime next year and we haven’t fixed a date yet. I have shot
 videos and released some singles which may make it to the final album. 
We have not decided on the album title and other logistics. Right now, 
we are trying to create that demand for the album by dropping</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">several tracks. I have released four singles, this year.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Why did you change your name?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Earlier this
 year, I got signed on to a new record label and we decided that since I
 have been off the scene for a while, I must undergo a rebranding 
process. The first thing we decided to do was take out the DJ from the</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">name because
 I am no longer a practising DJ. I started in the industry as a disc 
jockey when I was about 17 years old. I am now focused on producing, 
singing and songwriting. We also wanted to put a stop to the question 
about whether or not I am a DJ.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Most DJs in 
the industry are either producing mix-tapes of several songs by other 
artistes or releasing albums. I don’t want to be confused in like 
manner.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Aren’t you afraid of losing fans as a result of the new image?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">No, I am 
not. I will lose not fans neither will the rebranding affect me as long 
as I am consistently making good music. I am also not the first artiste 
to undergo a rebranding of some sorts.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Is the competition now stiffer than when you started out?</span><br />

 is best to leave it fast. Yes, the industry is a lot better now 
compared to when I began. The social media hype, which a lot of artistes
 including me, now enjoy, was non-existent at the time. What matters

constantly rebuilding and reevaluating oneself to keep moving with the 
times because change is the only constant thing. Competition only makes 
me a better. Artistes like Davido and Olamide, are no threat to me.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">What are you most afraid of as an artiste?</span><br />

of not being remembered for who I was or impact I made. That is why I 
try to be a perfectionist in all my dealings. I do not try to imitate 
any artiste because it is not all about having hit tracks or 
endorsements but</span><br />

rewarded for hard work. The only avenue where Nigerian artistes now make
 money is from shows and endorsements. We are gradually getting there as
 some artistesvare beginning to recoup funds from their sweat and 
different channels like iTunes downloads Caller Tunes and YouTube views.
 We sometimes lack professionalism in the industry. We must learn to do 
things the right way and not taking the short cut in all our dealings.</span><br />

power or money-when they don’t come, I am not frustrated. I guess that’s
 why I cope well. I have a woman in my life and I am content. I am

to handling my female fans. As a male artiste, female fans and children 
are your major fans. I keep fans and friends in their place; even

 Chris Giwa-led faction of the Nigeria Football Federation has 
overturned the decision of the body earlier taken by the opposing 
faction of Amaju Pinnick to reinstate Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles 
coach.<br /><br />The Amaju-led faction replaced Keshi with Amodu Shaibu a 
fortnight ago after leading the Super Eagles to a 3-1 victory over Sudan
 in Abuja. The win was the team’s first in four matches in the 
qualifying series for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.<br /><br />The Giwa 
faction took over the NFF following Thursday’s ruling by a Jos Federal 
High Court, which ordered the return of the status quo in the NFF before
 the September 30 election that brought in the Amaju-led board in Warri.<br /><br />A
 part of the communique released on Friday by the Giwa-led board reads, 
“The NFF board reviewed and feels so strongly to sustain the 
out-of-contract assignment given to the technical crew of the Super 
Eagles led by Stephen Keshi at a very critical moment like this. 
Nigerians want the national team to play well, win and a pride to them."<br /><br />The board also dissolved all committees set up by the Amaju group and constituted new ones to manage the nation’s football.<br /><br />Giwa
 told SundayPUNCH on the telephone on Saturday that he would have no 
problem bringing Keshi back to manage the Super Eagles despite the coach
 saying he was prepared to move on after the NFF failed to renew his 
contract.<br /><br />"I don’t have problem bringing Keshi back; he has not 
told me he was not interested. I’ve spoken with him and there are 
positive signs he is ready to lead the team to success," Giwa said.<br /><br />"I’ve
 never met Keshi before but I cannot agree with the idea of replacing 
the coach at a time we have crucial matches to play and qualify for the 
Nations Cup.<br /><br />"Inasmuch as I don’t have anything against Amodu, I 
don’t think it is the right time to bring him on board. Amodu has not 
coached any team in that capacity for a long time, and this is a crucial
 time when we need to be on top of everything.”<br /><br />The Amaju group, however, said it was not losing sleep over the activities of the Giwa faction.<br /><br />The
 group confirmed on Saturday it has filed a Stay of Execution at the 
Federal High Court, Jos Judicial Division over the court’s ruling of 
Thursday.<br /><br />The hearing of the case Stay of Execution comes up on Wednesday.<br /><br />"We’re
 not losing sleep over this, we’ll get what we want from the court 
because we’ve not done anything wrong by conducting the NFF elections,” a
 member of the Amaju-led board said.</span></span>

 practice is that the process of selecting and consecrating a successor 
commences immediately after a bishop is out. In this instance, the 
process became so slow that even the ordinary man in the street got to 
know that “something was definitely wrong” in the house of God. For more
 than two years, the Holy See was unable to announce a successor to the 
late Bishop Chikwe.<br /><br />Mbaise monarch, Eze Desmond Oguguo, a 
Catholic, used every opportunity available to him to plead that a bishop
 be appointed for the diocese. Meanwhile, Pope Benedict XVI, on Friday, 
December 7, 2012, announced Monsignor Peter Ebere Okpalaeke, a priest 
from Awka Diocese, Anambra State, as the Bishop-elect of Ahiara Diocese.<br /><br />Apart
 from the appointment being a shocker to priests of the diocese, members
 of the laity keyed into the stout objection raised by the priests. They
 were unanimous in asking the Holy See to reverse the appointment of 
Okpalaeke. This was not reversed, while the laity, propelled by their 
priests, never re-considered their stand on rejecting Okpalaeke as their
 bishop.<br /><br />When it became clear that the priests were adamant over 
the issue, the Catholic Church decided to move the consecration of 
Okpalaeke to the Seat of Wisdom Seminary, Ulakwo, Owerri North local 
council area of Imo State. A tight security was weaved around the venue 
of the event by security agencies.<br /><br />But after the consecration, 
Okpalaeke was not allowed to move into the Bishop’s Court in Nnarambia, 
Mbaise. The priests equally refused to recognize him as their bishop.<br /><br />The
 former administrator of the diocese, Monsignor Theo Nwalo, in a paper 
titled, “Responding to the current problems in Ahiara Diocese”, noted 
that the pronouncement of Okpalaeke by the Papacy elicited sadness and 
anger instead of jubilation and joyful celebration.<br /><br />“Being a 
native of this diocese and having served in this diocese all my life, I 
must report that I have never seen Mbaise people this angry before. 
There is anger all over the place. And people seem to be preparing for 
the worst”, Nwalo stated.<br /><br />“The Catholic faith in this once 
bastion of the Catholic Church in Nigeria has suddenly come under a very
 severe criticism and threat, especially since the announcement of 
Monsignor Peter Okpalaeke as our Bishop-elect”.<br /><br />He expressed the 
fear that “the situation will grow worse if nothing is done to resolve 
the problem quickly, so that priests and ordinary Christians could 
return to practicing their faith in peace and joy”.<br /><br />Nwalo was 
being prophetic in the piece he wrote several months ago as the 
disagreement over the bishop-elect took a dangerous dimension October 
16, 2014, when priests allegedly engaged in free for all. </span></span><br />

 Vanguard investigations revealed that Rev. Fr. Januarius Chima Ahaneku 
went to St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Nnarambia, at about 7.15pm, 
following his posting to the parish by the Vicar General of the 
embattled diocese, Rev. Fr. Clement Ebii.<br /><br />While Ahaneku was 
accused of storming the parish with some people and assaulting the 
resident priest, Rev. Fr. Marcellinus Nweke, Ahaneku countered that he 
was there on legitimate posting.<br /><br />Catholic-crisisNweke explained 
that he had to alert the police and the people when his brother priest 
allegedly “exhibited an act unbecoming of an ordained Catholic priest”.<br /><br />“They
 started harassing us, using hammer and some iron bars to break the 
doors to enter. Some of us even sustained injuries. I dislocated my left
 shoulder”, he said.<br /><br />The resident priest alleged that the police 
recovered pump action rifle, double barrel gun and an electric shocker 
from Ahaneku and his friends.<br /><br />In his own account, Ahaneku said he
 presented a letter from the Vicar General deploying him to St. Brigid’s
 Parish as Acting Parish Priest, and he never attempted the use of 
violence as claimed by Nweke. He explained that the men, who were 
arrested by the police as thugs, merely accompanied him to the Parish, 
to assist him settle down with his belongings.<br /><br />“The parish priest
 left without the knowledge of the Vicar General/Delegate of the 
Diocese. So, I was detailed to go there and take care of the souls of 
the parishioners. I didn’t go there with thugs”, Ahaneku said.<br /><br />The
 obviously angry priest went on: “When Fr. Nweke came out, we greeted 
each other and I explained my mission to him and he said he was not 
informed of the posting and insisted that the Vicar General should call 
him.<br /><br />“The Vicar General called him severally but he refused to 
pick his calls. I took him to my car and showed him my authority, the 
letter I was given and after reading it, he said there was no problem.”<br /><br />Continuing,
 the priest recalled that as he was trying to move his belongings into 
the parish house, with the help of his friends, Nweke started making 
calls.<br /><br />“They first raised false alarm to the police that some 
armed robbers invaded their house. In a matter of minutes, several 
people stormed the place. A lot of them were carrying machetes and other
 dangerous weapons. I wanted to leave in my vehicle but my brother 
priest stood in front of my car, insisting that I will not move an inch.
 In order not to smash him or commit any crime, I left the vehicle 
there”.<br /><br />The Sports Utility Vehicle, which Ahaneku drove to the 
parish was vandalized by angry youths who rushed to the parish and was 
still in the custody of the Church at the time of going to press.<br /><br />The
 Vicar General of the Diocese, Ebii, however, confirmed that Ahaneku had
 his approval to report to St. Brigid’s Catholic Church.<br /><br />“Fr. Ahaneku was sent there officially to go and do pastoral work. He had a legal paper from me”,Ebii said.<br /><br />Interestingly,
 The Guide, a tabloid published by Ahiara Catholic Diocese, in its 
volume 16 number 22, flashed a screaming headline: “Outrage: 
Pro-Okpalaeke hoodlums invade St. Brigid’s Church”.  The management of 
the paper not only used unprintable words against their Ahaneku, but 
also tongue lashed John Cardinal Onaiyekan in their “Guide Comment”.<br /><br />Reacting
 to the publication, a villager, who simply identified himself as 
Nnaemeka, said: “What was interesting about the publication was that the
 paper published the photographs of the alleged thugs, drenched in their
 own blood. The paper was however silent on who inflicted the varying 
degrees of bodily harm on the citizens”.<br /><br />After showing 
SundayVanguard the photographs of vehicles allegedly used by Ahaneku and
 his friends and published by The Guide, Nnaemeka wondered how supposed 
thugs would go to battle with their expensive vehicles. In the meantime,
 Imo State Police Command has appealed to the Administrator of Ahiara 
Diocese, who doubles as the Archbishop of Abuja Ecclesiastical Province,
 His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, to find a lasting solution to 
the Ahiara Diocese crisis.<br /><br />The state Police Public Relations 
Officer, PPRO, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, made the appeal while reacting to the
 St. Brigid’s Church, Nnarambia incident.<br /><br />“It is most shocking 
that priests can get to the level they did in the last episode. The 
Catholic Church and its priests are supposed to show good examples for 
others to follow”, the PPRO said.<br /><br />Enwerem said the Owerri Area 
Command was already handling the matter, while some people have been 
arrested in connection with the incident.</span></span> </div>

The crowd of protesters, who are members
 of a group called Positive Minds Club for Teachers, were at Fajuyi Park
 in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, with placards bearing various 
inscriptions criticising the Assembly. They moved from the popular 
Fajuyi Park to Ijigbo roundabout where they were addressed by two of 
their leaders. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Some of the placards which they carried 
had on them inscriptions such as: “No to impeachment,” “We want peace in
 Ekiti,” “Return the N100m bribe to your leader,” “No going back on June
 21 election result” and Tinubu stay away from Ekiti,” among others.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, the group’s President, Mr. Ojo 
Patrick, and Treasurer, Mr. Bello Akande, made it known that they are 
ready to mobilize the people of the state to move against any plan to 
remove the governor as there are underground plans to do so.</div>

Patrick said, <em>“It is a peaceful 
protest and the police are here to ensure that the protest is not 
hijacked. We are going to maintain peace throughout the protest.“We just
 want to show to all Ekiti people that we stand by the result of the 
last governorship election and our mandate.</em></div>

<em>“If the members of the House of 
Assembly want us to come and dialogue with them, we are ready. We learnt
 that they went for a meeting in Lagos State with Tinubu and each of the
 lawmakers collected N50m while the Speaker got N100m to impeach the 
governor and to make sure that Ekiti State is made ungovernable for 
Fayose.”</em></div>

Patrick, however appealed to the 
lawmakers “in the interest of all Ekiti people to stay clear of any move
 to impeach the governor.” </div>

Meanwhile, the state House of Assembly 
had a press meeting on Thursday making it known that they did not 
collected money to remove the governor.</div>

The Majority Leader of the Assembly, Mr.
 Churchill Adedipe, said the meeting they held in Lagos was to discuss 
the forthcoming All Progressive Congress presidential primary.</div>

the woman’s body rather than her soul.</span><br />

headquarters of the State Criminal Investigation Department of the 
Ebonyi State Police Command where he and Roseline are being held as 
investigation into the alleged murder continues, Odorimo spoke with 
Sunday Sun.</span><br />

married and have five children. The deceased Nwebonyi Nwugwu was nice 
to me. He gave me a hectare of land to build my church. His wife, 
Roseline Nwuguru attended my church. It was from there that I started 
having love affair with her. When the love was getting deep we found out
 that the deceased was disturbing us and we have to plan for him,” 
Odorimo said. When Nwuguru got wind of the strong and deep romantic 
relationship between his wife and Odorimo, the fake pastor, he naturally
 screamed blue murder. With their love affair known to Nwuguru, Odorimo 
and Roseline were deeply rattled, but refused entreaties to end the 
relationship. Rather, they allegedly connived to solve the problem 
permanently, and invited the devil to be their chief adviser.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,Times New Roman,serif;">Act 2, Scene
 2: On September 30, 2014, unsuspecting Nwuguru decided to visit his 
farm. Promptly, Odorimo offered to give him a ride on his motorcycle. 
Along the way Odorimo stopped and dismounted from the motorcycle.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,Times New Roman,serif;">Asked what 
happened thereafter, Odorimo gave this blood chilling response: “I took 
deceased’s cutlass and cut him on the head. His wife also hit him on the
 head with a big stick. He died on the spot and we ran away to Benue 
State, but men of the local vigilance group arrested us and handed us 
over to the police.”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,Times New Roman,serif;">Roseline 
Nwuguru, who hails from Ado LocalGovernment Area of Benue State while 
corroborating the account of Odorimo said: “I have seven children for my
 late husband. He stopped people from entering the church because he had
 misunderstanding with Pastor Odorimo. Actually I was having a love 
affair with Pastor Odorimo. I don’t regret my action and joining in 
killing my husband. He was a wicked man, because he prevented people 
from entering the church.”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,Times New Roman,serif;">After 
speaking with Sunday Sun, the two suspects, Pastor Odorimo and Roseline
 Nwugwuru ate lunch together from the same plate as a way of showing 
their love for each other.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,Times New Roman,serif;">Notwithstanding
 their show of deep affection for each other, Ebonyi State Commissioner,
 Maigari Dikko has assured that the suspects would have their day in 
court once the police conclude investigations.</span></div>

commercial motorcycle was one of the measures proposed towards adequate

transport, permanent secretaries, directors and officials in the federal
 and state ministries of transport across the country.<br /><br />The 
council advised all states in the federation to henceforth discourage
