returning from the market I heard children shouting that ‘Aguduma’ had 
fallen off the mango tree and I quickly rushed to scene and used my 
head-tie to bind his fractured right hand.My husband’s brother, 
popularly known as Ajasco, who was returning from the farm, had carried 
him (Jonathan), with the assistance of other children and took him to a 
popular traditional bonesetter in the neigbourhood, called Nwanyiogu 
from Mgidi but married to Kalabari man.And while he was receiving 
treatment for his injured hand, we were always bringing him food because
 both his uncle and the son had gone back to their hometown. He left 
Oguta in 1972 and I have not set eyes on him again nor heard anything 
about him. I only got to know that Jonathan had become the president of 
Nigeria when I saw, in 2011 an Almanac bearing his photograph “Look at

Almost a year ago, a Schoolboy was freed by a kidnapper because he 
wouldn't stop singing about it, and today he is still being talked 
about. Read his story below:</div>

A 10-year-old boy who was the victim of a kidnapping was reportedly 
released because his captor became irritated when the child wouldn’t 
stop singing a gospel song.<br />
The man allegedly used money to lure Willie Myrick, who was 9-years-old 
at the time, from his driveway in the US city of Atlanta, Georgia, on 31
 March.<br />
<br />
He then grabbed the schoolboy, put him in his car and drove away from the scene.<br />
During the three hour journey, Myrick repeatedly sang Every Praise by 
Hezekiah Walker, despite his captor cursing at him and telling him to 
shut up, according to ABC News.<br />
The man dropped Willie off unharmed in East Point.<br />
The song includes the verse: “Every praise is to our God. Every word of 
worship with one accord. Every praise every praise is to our God. Sing 
hallelujah to our God. Glory hallelujah is due our God. Every praise 
every praise is to our God.”<br />
"He opened the door and threw me out. He told me not to tell anyone,” 
Myrick told worshippers at his local church at an event celebrating that
 he was safe.<br />
Among the congregation was Walker, who had travelled from New York to meet the 10-year-old.<br />
"It's just emotional to me because you never know who you're going to touch," Walker told ABC News.<br />
"I just wanted to hug him and tell him I love him," Walker said, adding:
 "I really believe that God spoke through me to save that young man's 
life."<br />
Atlanta Police Department officers are currently searching for the man 
who abducted Willie, and have released a sketch of the suspect.<br />

Omonigho Abraham, the four year old boy who was attacked by dogs in the 
Igando area of Lagos State, has returned into the country from an India 
medical trip.<br />
Punch reports that Omonigho returned into Nigeria on Thursday, 
yesterday, with his father, Odia, and mother, Helen, who went with him 
on the trip.<br />
<br />
Last year, October 7, 2014, the young boy was attacked by two dogs at 
their house on Adegboyega Street, Akesan Estate. Omonigho was playing 
with his two brothers, Osemudiamen and Bobby, when the dogs, owned by 
their landlord, pursued them.<br />
<br />
While the others escaped because they were older, the dogs bit off Omonigho's scalp and dragged<br />
him around. Policemen and residents who came around could not rescue him
 until his mother arrived at the scene and fought off the dogs.<br />
<br />
PUNCH had reported that his stay at the Lagos State University Teaching 
Hospital, Ikeja, was marred by complaints of neglect and at a point, his
 father raised the alarm that Omonigho’s condition had worsened.<br />
<br />
In December, Odia announced that the Delta State Government and a 
non-governmental organisation, Global Initiative for Peace, Love and 
Care had concluded plans to fly him to India.<br />
<br />
An alternative plan by the Lagos State Government was turned down by the
 victim’s family, who said the India travel plan had been concluded.<br />
<br />
The four-year-old departed for India on November 28, 2014 despite 
concerns by the Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Mr. Jide Idris, that
 his condition was delicate and needed special attention.<br />
<br />
When PUNCH Metro spoke with the family during the week while they were 
still in India, the mother said there were improvements in her son’s 
condition. She added that the family would be arriving Lagos on 
Thursday.<br />
<br />
His father, Odia, on Thursday later told the newspaoer that the family 
finally arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 
2pm. He said:<br />
 “We touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 
2pm. We are on our way home now. The doctors in India have completed 
their job. My boy is back to normal. I thank God that everything is 
okay.”<br />
He appreciated the efforts of the Delta State Government, the NGO and 
the media for the attention given to his son. He also acknowledged the 
support of the Lagos State Government during his admission in LASUTH.<br />

One Mr. John Nnamdi, who owns one of the biggest stores at the Alaba International Market was recently arrested for robbery.<br />

While opening up to the police on his arrest, he said “I participated in
 a robbery operation where we made over one hundred million naira and I 
got twenty eight million naira as my share. What kind of business could I
 have done to get that kind of money?”<br />
<br />
I am a businessman at the Alaba International Market. I deal in musical 
instruments. The same thing is applicable to my members. They have one 
business or the other in the market. Some sell generator parts or sets; 
others sell one thing or the other to deceive people that we are into 
genuine businesses.We robbed a man travelling from Cotonou.”<br />
<br />
 On how they got the information that the man was holding a huge amount of money, John said that<br />
<br />
<br />
“It was our informant that told us that the man was coming into the 
country. It was the most successful robbery operation that I ever 
participated in. Others got N25 to N18 million, depending on their 
roles. I am the gang leader.<br />
“The second robbery was in Cotonou. We raided a bank. We got big money 
also. But I can’t say how much. I know I got N17 million and my boys got
 as much as N5 million each.”<br />
The suspects, while speaking on robberies outside Nigeria, said<br />
 “Robberies in Cotonou are easier than what happens in Nigeria. In 
Cotonou, you don’t even need a gun to operate. But in Nigeria, 
especially in Lagos, you need to be very careful.”<br />
On why he continued to participate in robberies even after making enough money, the suspect said that<br />
“Well, I built a very magnificent building in my village. I have another
 one in Lagos. I bought some cars but I regret everything now. I am 
going to be ashamed both in the market and in my village because people 
see me as a big guy. What of my church? I am finished; I am a Catholic 
and an active church member who belongs to many societies. My church 
members will now see me as an evil person. I am exposed to ridicule. 
Well, many people in Alaba International Market and other market places 
are into armed robbery or other illegal businesses. Like Victor 
Anamalechi, he is my gang member and he sells generating sets. He is 
equally seen in the market as a big man. The other person, Ihenacho Igwe
 (aka Messiah) is not in Alaba Market, but when he got much money, he 
invested in trucks. He also bought some taxis and commercial buses. He 
really utilised his money very well but all is now vanity.<br />
<br />
“My advice to people is that they should not be envious of other people 
that they see in affluence. Many of them could have acquired their 
wealth through illegal means, especially armed robbery. More so, the 
money one gets through armed robbery brings fear and apprehension as one
 is forced to live in perpetual fear. Now, I have been living in fear 
and the thing I was afraid of all this while has finally happened to me.
 I have been arrested and I don’t know my fate yet.”<br />

Just as the election days is drawing near, the Federal Government has 
raised alarm that Boko Haram insurgents are planning to attack political
 rallies, mosques, churches, Automated Teller Machines, restaurants and 
other places where people gather with explosive-laden goats, donkeys, 
camels and even young boys disguised as cobblers.<br />

Mr. Mike Omeri, the Coordinator of the National Information Centre on 
the war against terrorism, announced this at a press briefing in Abuja 
recently.<br />
<br />
“Available intelligence reports indicate a plan by Boko Haram to use 
young male suicide bombers disguised as cobblers to hide explosives in 
their tool boxes and detonate them in soft target areas such as markets,
 restaurants, ATM locations, political rallies, worship centers, as well
 as other public places. Also, there is indication of a plan by this 
group to use livestock such as goats, cows, donkeys and camels laden 
with explosives to attack chosen targets. In view of these, the general 
public, including all persons within and around the aforementioned 
places, is advised to be vigilant and mindful of suspicious activities 
within their environment,” he said. He however said security agencies 
and related organisations had been alerted to take necessary steps to 
forestall such attacks.<br />

Prost*tute Stabbed To Death At A Car Park In Victoria Island

A pr*stitute was stabbed to death in a car park on Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Monday, January 19.<br />

The car park, where she was killed, is used by employees of commercial banks and other organisations on the street.<br /><br />
The 25-year-old s*x worker, identified simply as Joy, was discovered in a pool of blood with stab wounds at about 5.30am.<br /><br />
Joy, who reportedly had two kids– a girl and a boy, had gone to the park
 with her three-year-old boy on Sunday night when she was reportedly 
stabbed to death.<br /><br />
A resident, Mr. Afeez Ibrahim, said in spite of being a s*x worker, most
 people on the street liked and had assisted Joy in the past, in order 
to quit the job.<br />
He said: “Joy is a well known woman on this street. We all liked her 
except for the work she did. She called herself a street hustler who 
needed to take care of her children. She is Urhobo. On Sunday evening, 
she was still seen around the car park.”<br /><br />
“We were shocked when we woke on Monday morning to find her corpse with 
knife injuries. Her attackers stabbed her twice on the back. She was 
found in a pool of blood.”<br /><br />
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, 
confirmed the incident, saying that the police were investigating to 
apprehend the killers.<br /><br />
He said: “A policeman from Victoria Island, who saw the corpse, went 
back to the division to report and the body was taken away. There were 
stab wounds on the head and in the back. The body is now at a morgue and
 an autopsy will also be conducted. Investigation is ongoing on the 
matter.”</div>
