2face Idibia has slammed a N100million suit against soft-sell magazine,  Icon Weekly, for libel. The Media/Entertainment Law Firm of L & A-  Legal Consultants has filed  libel proceedings on behalf of  2face,  at the Ikeja High Court asking  the court to award their client the  sum of N100million being damages for the  libelous publication posted on the magazine’s online and print  platforms.<br />

"The terrorists injured many other villagers, burnt  many houses and made away with our foodstuff. The attack, which  commenced at 7a.m. yesterday lasted over five hours before military  intervened. I and some other residents of Chibok had made several  telephone calls to the military, unfortunately they (military) only  started bombing the surrounding area of the attack after over 40 members  of our community had been killed. The lifeless bodies of our people are  still littered in the three villages as I speak, but our present fear  is that many innocent villagers may be hit by the ongoing bombings by  the military."<br /> <br />Abba Aji Khalil, another resident, who is also the chairman of sector  5 of the local vigilante group in the state also confirmed the  incident.<br /> <br />"My group is already in hot pursuit of the suspected terrorists. Our  members in Chibok and neighbouring local government areas are already in  hot pursuit of the suspected terrorists" he said. <br /> <br />The state Police Commissioner, Lawal Tanko, and his spokesman, Gideon  Jubrin, could not be reached to get  confimation on the incident, but a  senior police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he  was not authorised to talk with journalist confirmed the attack. <br /> </div><br />Meanwhile, residents  of Chibok community had been living perpetual fear following a letter  that was allegedly sent by the sect detailing an impending attack. <br /> <br />It would be recalled that the sect  members attacked Chibok on April 14, killed scores of people and  abducted more than 200 female students from Government Girls Secondary  School.<br /> <br />The girls, however, are yet to be rescued although international  communities like U.K, France, Israel, Britain, US amongst others, whom  volunteered to help the Nigerian government in bringing back the girls  are yet to come up with a positive result.<br /> <br />The presidential  fact-finding committee set up by Jonathan on the abduction of the  girls, on Sunday, 22 June, 2014 submitted their report in Abuja,  confirming that about 219 girls were still missing.

Please keep off, SARS, Ikeja'.<br /> The inscription on the gates added to the puzzle of residents, but  they later got to know that the remains of a missing woman and her  daughter were exhumed from the structure by men of Lagos State SARS.<br /><a name='more'></a><br /> <br /><br />PUNCH Metro learnt that a suspected kidnapper, Alhaji Olatunde Azeez who allegedly <strong class="c2">killed an ex-customs officer and her adopted 10-year-old daughter</strong> over possession of her properties led the SARS operatives to the  building. The suspect was also said to have confessed to be the owner of  the building.<br /> <br /><br />It was further learnt that the ex-customs officer, Angela Kery, and  the young girl, simply identified as Obiagulum, had been declared  missing from home since May 10.<br /> <br />It was learnt that after a series of investigations which led to the  arrest of Azeez, the suspect confessed to have killed the missing woman  and her daughter and buried them in the structure.<br /> <br />Many residents in the area said they had never met the owner of the  structure, adding that the gates of the compound were always locked.<br /> <br />A landlord in the area, who craved anonymity, said, "We never knew  who the owner of the house was. It was usually locked and I have yet to  observe any form of human presence. Now it is shocking to realise that  it is a kidnappers' den. That means all of us are not safe.<br /> <br />"We learnt that the victims had been buried in the sitting room. They  said ritual killers had killed a woman and her daughter and buried  them."<br /> <br />Another resident, who identified herself simply as Mrs. Adedotun,  claimed that the suspect owned a hospital and a petrol station in other  areas of Lagos and Ogun states.<br /> <br />"I heard he is also called Doctor because he runs a hospital. Some  people call him Alhaji. He scarcely comes to stay in the house. We never  knew it was because he had buried two human beings in his compound,"  she noted.<br /> <br />The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, said she would  call our correspondent back, which she had yet to do as of the time of  going to press.<br /> <br />But the acting Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Opeyemi, confirmed the incident.<br /> <br />He said, "Actually, it is not our case. The case belongs to the SARS  of the Lagos State Police command. But we brought our men from Ajuwon to  ensure that people in the area do not burn the structure. They are  still patrolling the area as I speak to you."<br /> <br />It would also be recalled that it was reported on June 17 that <strong class="c2">two  structures belonging suspected kidnappers in Ogidi and Ojoto  communities in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas of Anambra  state were demolished by the police</strong>.

Boko Haram: Suicide Bomber Kills 3 Soldiers In Borno

<b>Three soldiers lost their lives on Sunday when a suicide  bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a military checkpoint in  Gwoza town, Borno state near the border with Cameroon.</b><br /><br />In the early morning attack which residents blamed on Boko Haram, three soldiers were also injured.<br />AFP reports that the attack happened at about 7a.m. but the news of  the incident took several hours to emerge due to the area's poor  telephone network following the destruction of telecom masts in previous  Boko Haram attacks.<br /><br />According to a resident, Dahiru Yunusa, the blast was heard throughout the town.<br />Another resident, Musa Buzu, after the blast, residents rushed to the  scene to look at the mangled remains of the car used by the suicide  bomber, adding that the scene was cordoned off by the military until  4:00 pm.<br /><a name='more'></a><br /><br />"The town was still asleep when the suicide bomber attacked the  checkpoint with a deafening explosion that awoke the whole town," Buzu  said.<br /><br />Military spokesmen were not available to comment on the attack.<br />Gwoza, which is 100 kilometres (60 miles) from state capital  Maiduguri, has come under repeated attack by the terrorists, leaving  many dead.<br /><br />Early June, Boko Haram had attacked 3 villages situated in Gwoza LGA. Officials confirmed that 110 people died and 2000 were displaced in the attack.<br /><br />Last month, the traditional monarch of Gwoza, Idrissa Timta, was killed when Boko Haram gunmen ambushed the convoy of three emirs on their way to the funeral of another influential emir.
