 said to be the second to the last son of former Governor of Bayelsa 
State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, fondly called the 
‘Governor-General Niger Delta,’ while he was a governor, was killed on 
Saturday in the Middle East country.<br /><br />Sources familiar with the development alleged on Monday that the deceased’s death was a case of assassination.<br /><br />Two
 different versions have been given concerning where the former 
governor’s son was killed. The first version, our correspondent learnt, 
was that Oyoms was found dead by the staircase of his father’s house in 
Dubai. However, the second version alleged that the deceased’s body was 
found in his hotel room in Dubai, giving impression that he might have 
been assassinated.<br /><br />It could not be established whether Oyom’s 
father, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, had traveled to Dubai to take 
possession of his son’s body.<br />Indication that he might not have 
traveled emerged when he responded to a text message sent to his mobile 
phone on Monday at 12noon.<br /><br />Though it was later learnt about 2pm 
that he was headed for Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, in company 
with one of his older sons, to probably board a flight to Dubai.<br /><br />In his response to the enquiry on the incident, Alamieyeseigha simply said, “he was killed in Dubai.”<br />However, as of the time of filing this report, the circumstances leading to Oyom’s death remained sketchy.</span></span></div>

 two-time BBC African Footballer of the Year and former Captain of the 
Super Eagles, Austin Jay Jay Okocha described the 1-0 defeat to Sudan as
 confirming his worst fears that “football is long dead and gone” in 
Nigeria.<br /><br />Writing on Twitter on Sunday, Okocha wondered if the 
Super Eagles could have performed better, considering the level of 
development of football in the country.<br /><br />Stating that the result 
of the match has put the national team in a “very unusual situation,” he
 cautioned against unfairly criticising the Super Eagles and the 
coaching crew.<br /><br />“We are in a very unusual situation. The question 
is: ‘do we deserve better considering the state of our football affairs 
in recent times?’ Anyone that blames Keshi or the boys is short-sighted.
 Our football is long dead and gone. This is just the confirmation,” the
 former Nigerian midfielder tweeted.<br /><br />“Well done, South Africa. It
 is not the result most Nigerians expected, though. But we have to step 
up our game and grab the next six points to have a chance,” Okocha 
added.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Nigerians have been divided over the Super 
Eagles’ slim chances of qualifying for the 2015 African Cup of Nations 
following the Sudan defeat.<br /><br />Football commentator for Optima Live,
 Deji Faremi, said he held the belief that “Keshi’s cup is full”, adding
 that “Keshi should leave.”<br /><br />Faremi, however, noted that Keshi is 
not the “devil” behind Nigeria’s football woes, saying Nigerians should 
also begin to ask some pertinent questions about the running and 
development of football in the country.<br /><br />“Yes, Keshi has lost his 
dressing room and is always quarrelling with his players. And he is 
really arrogant, too. I think Keshi should leave. I believe he should 
leave. I won’t hold brief for Keshi; he should leave. But let’s ask 
ourselves: How many tactically-strong coaches, including foreign ones, 
have Nigeria had in the last five to 10 years?<br /><br />“When Keshi 
leaves, are we going to get a coach who is truly better, or are we going
 to continue with the same mediocrity? Do Nigeria really have top or 
world-class players at the moment compared to other African and 
non-African teams?<br /><br />“Imagine dumping many of these players, does 
Nigeria have genuinely better replacements? Do we think it’s not a 
problem that we do well in age-grade competitions, but the players 
‘decline’ as they grow?<br /><br />“Another important question is: Do 
Nigerian players (almost all) play as well for the national team as they
 do for the clubs? Is that double standards? Can Nigerians stop acting 
like he’s the devil? I also think Nigerians should start realising Keshi
 is not 30 per cent of the problem of our football,” Faremi argued on 
Twitter.<br /><br />Lamenting the performance of the Super Eagles, sports 
analyst with Super Sport, Colin Udoh, stated that the present crop of 
Super Eagles did not deserve to participate in the African Cup of 
Nations holding in Morocco.<br /><br />In his analysis of the match, Udoh 
stated that the Super Eagles lost early chances, adding that the various
 passes in the midfield were “pointless” with “no real penetration.”<br /><br />With
 the Super Eagles at the bottom of the table in Group A – with one point
 from three matches – Udoh tweeted, “Funny that South Africa may have 
done Nigeria a favour by winning. But this team (Super Eagles) does not 
deserve to be in Morocco.”<br /><br />A social commentator, Emeka Enyadike, 
wrote on Twitter that it was worrisome that Nigeria’s “best chances” at 
the qualifying match came from Mikel Obi, stating that the development 
showed that the Super Eagles “really has a problem.”<br /><br />Disagreeing 
with those calling for the head of Keshi, however, a respondent, 
Abubakar Isimbabi, explained that Keshi’s sacking would not solve the 
Super Eagles’ problem.<br /><br />“The outcome of Sudan-Nigeria match is 
unfortunate but I think Keshi should be left to finish the qualifiers. 
What miracle is expected from a new coach?” Isimbabi tweeted.</span></span><br />

“There is no single government input on this premises,” “We supply our 
water, we make our roads, then you … say: ‘Let’s tax them’. For what?”</span><br />

transcontinental distance between the couple did not affect their 
relationship. In November 2008, Ini and Phillip celebrated their

Strange things are happening, whether you believe or not and this is one
 big example. The middle-aged lady who caused a stir at Cappa Bus Stop 
in the Oshodi area of Lagos State last Friday, after being accused of 
witchcraft (turning from a bird to human), has died.<br />
<br />
Eyewitnesses said the woman had fallen as a ‘bird’ from an electric 
cable, and confessed to have some sort of metaphysical powers. Although 
policemen from Mushin Division later took the woman away, she was 
already unconscious before arriving at the hospital.<br />
<br />
Lagos Police PRO, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, while confirming the woman's death, said:<br />

“Eyewitnesses said there was a bird which fell down and turned into a 
woman. So, a large crowd gathered round her. She was not attacked. 
Eventually, when the police got there, they rescued the woman from the 
surging crowd. But unfortunately, she died, and her body has been 
deposited at the Mainland General Hospital’s morgue.”</blockquote>

 visited the area, a policeman at the junction said the woman was coming
 from the Agbado Ijaiye area of Lagos, and heading for her husband’s 
residence in Mushin.<br />

It was learnt from eyewitnesses that a bird had been seen flying around 
the area, and had hit a high tension cable and landed on the ground.<br />
<br />
One Mr. Sowoloa, who claimed to be an eyewitness, said the passersby 
formed a crowd around the bird which reportedly turned into a woman, and
 busied themselves with taking her photographs.<br />
<br />
He said, “It was at 12 in the afternoon. I was also at the bus stop with
 friends. We saw one of the birds hit a high-tension cable. It shrieked 
and landed on the ground. Before we took any notice, it was a badly 
burnt woman we saw.<br />
<br />
“<span style="color: #cc0000;">It is unbelievable but it is true</span>.
 When we spoke to the woman, she claimed to have some magical powers, 
and had killed several people. She added that she was returning to her 
husband’s house in Mushin before the incident. So, some people started 
taking her photographs.”

Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has said he had no grouse 
against anybody in his party, the PDP, but that he will not accept a 
"wanted drug b*ron" as leader in the south west, as is currently the 
case.<br />

In a statement released on Sunday, Obasanjo said the issue bordered on principle and morality.<br />

Obasanjo said: “There are, for me, issues of principle, morality, 
honour, integrity, commitment and character which are paramount. For 
instance, as a former president of Nigeria, the chairman of West Africa 
Commission on Drug and a member of Global Commission on Drug, I cannot 
accept that the zonal leader of my political party and, worse still, in 
my zone, will be an indicted drug b*ron wanted in America. </blockquote>

“How do I explain that to friends outside Nigeria? This is only one of 
the many issues that I have pointed and still pointing out.”</blockquote>

<b>Obasanjo added:</b> “<span style="color: #cc0000;">I have national and international standard to maintain and reputation to keep and sustain</span>. For these reasons, I opted to remain active only at the ward level of the party till the leadership does the needful.” </blockquote>

President Obasanjo was apparently responding to series of appeals by the
 party leaders, including the Senate President David Mark and PDP

They also asked him to lead President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election 
campaign.</div>

Obasanjo, however, called on the leadership of the party to do the needful on the issues he had raised.<br />

appointed chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the PDP 
in South West by President Goodluck Jonathan.
