At times, even if I woke up in the night and I felt dizzy, I would just put a call across to him and after discussing with him, I would feel okay. He was more of a friend. He encouraged, inspired and assisted me.”</i><br />
<i>“I never did sorting. I never heard of such in the university. I also never suffered s*xual harassment or undue overtures from lecturers and even from my colleagues. The lecturers did not know me until 400 levels; even then, they were all nice.</i><br />
<i>“I thank God for the feat I recorded. I am happy and fulfilled because to make a first class is not an easy feat.I did not really have social life. I am not the type that goes out. I like playing games. I sleep reasonably. I read most of the times if I am not in class. I read at least six hours daily outside lectures and other academic engagements.</i><br />

This case is very serious. A jilted husband, Ifeanyi Kenneth Okpoko, has written a letter to Bishop Oyedepo, founder and general overseer, Winners Chapel, asking him to tell one of his pastors, Rev. Kelvin Ugwoke to leave his banker wife, Blessing.</div>

<em>In a letter dated 13 November, 2014 titled Case of Adultery, Snatching of my Wife and Secret Marriage Engagement, Okpoko alleged that Ugwuoke snatched his wife Blessing, who is an area manager in an old generation bank, took her to Dubai and allegedly wedded her secretly.</em></div>

<em>Okpoko said he legally married Blessing in 2001 according to marriage act but when he later</em><br /><em>discovered she had married Ugwuoke, also a banker, in Dubai and confronted her with some photographs, she moved to Ugwuoke’s home at Prime Water View Estate, Flat 8 in Lekki. Adding that Blessing then filed a suit at a Lagos High Court seeking for the dissolution of their marriage to cover up her adultery.</em></div>

<em>Ever since then, according to him, Blessing and Ugwuoke have been harassing him with police, and at a point, he was sent to prison in order to take over their joint property.</em></div>

<em>He said he married Blessing in 2001, adding that the marriage broke up in April 2013 when Blessing lied to him that she was going to Dubai for her banking job only for Ugwuoke to wed her secretly there. Okpoko said when she returned from Dubai, her behavior totally changed, as she started picking quarrels all the time until information about the marriage and photographs got to him.</em><br /><em>He added in the letter to Oyedepo:</em></div>

<em>“Sir I have been subjected to mental and psychological trauma just to force me to untimely death. Ironically, they are ministers in your church which calls for your intervention.”</em></div>

<em>Earlier last week, Blessing had declined to speak with PMNews about the matter, insisting nobody can tell her how to live her life.</em></div>

<em>Ugwuoke, who is from Nsukka in Enugu State, met Blessing at the Kano branch of the old generation bank where they both used to work. They allegedly became lovers for years before Blessing married Okpoko, who is a furniture dealer in Lagos. Blessing later met Ugwuoke who had separated from his wife in Lagos and their relationship allegedly rekindled until it allegedly culminated in the Dubai wedding.</em></div>

<em>In the suit filed at the court, both estranged couple accused each other of adultery and want the court to dissolve the marriage which produced three female children.</em></div>

<em>According to Okpoko, the 13-year old marriage crashed after his wife’s trip to Dubai. He said Blessing told him that she was going for a banking assignment in Dubai but unknown to him, her trip was to wed Ugwuoke there. When she returned from the trip, he did not suspect anything until he saw the photographs of her trip with Ugwuoke and confronted Blessing who was shocked about how the information got to him.</em></div>

<em>On the other hand, Blessing alleged that the respondent (Okpoko) had committed adultery with many women whom he had brought to their matrimonial home to sleep with in the presence of their three young female children. She alleged that the respondent sought to use physical violence and even threatened to kill her in order to inherit all her property solely purchased by her. That the respondent has subjected her and the female children to mental, physical and emotional trauma by accusing her that she cannot bear male children.</em></div>

<em>In response, Okpoko denied all the allegations and stated that Blessing has made him a very miserable man by constantly reminding him of his educational background, that he was a secondary school drop-out. He stated that Blessing intimidated and made jest of him by telling him that she married him out of pity and reminded him that they were not in the same class.</em></div>

<em>He alleged that Blessing was a dishonest and serial liar who brought home strange men and constantly slept outside her matrimonial home under the pretence of doing her job, thereby neglecting her duties in her matrimonial home.</em></div>

Hardly the toys of the average toddler.<br /><br />But Ayan, now six, has progressed at a staggering rate since his introduction to the world of computers and he has become the youngest specialist in the world after passing the Microsoft Certified Professional test.<br /><br />‘The hardest challenge was explaining the language of the test to a five-year-old. Another Ebola Victim Dies In US Hospital

<strong>                 Latest report says a surgeon from Sierra Leone has died at 
the Nebraska hospital where he was being treated for Ebola Virus 
Disease, EVD, after arriving from West Africa over the weekend.</strong><br />

Reuters reports that Dr. Martin Salia, a permanent U.S. resident, contracted the virus while working in a Freetown hospital.<br />

A statement released moment ago by the hospital informed that the 
late Salia was suffering from advanced symptoms, including kidney and 
respiratory failure, when he arrived at the Nebraska Medical Center on 
Saturday.<br /><br />
Hospital spokesman Taylor Wilson said Salia died shortly after 4 a.m. Monday.<br />

<em>“Dr. Salia was extremely critical when he arrived here, and 
unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we weren’t able to save him,”</em> said Dr. Phil Smith, medical director of the biocontainment unit.<br />

<em>“We used every possible treatment available to give Dr. Salia 
every possible opportunity for survival,” Smith said. “As we have 
learned, early treatment with these patients is essential. In Dr. 
Salia’s case, his disease was already extremely advanced by the time he 
came here for treatment,”</em>Dr. Smith added.<br /><br />
Salia’s wife, Isatu Salia, said Monday that she and her family were grateful for the efforts made by her husband’s medical team.<br />

<em>“We are so appreciate of the opportunity for my husband to be treated here and believe he was in the best place possible,”</em> Salia said. <br /><br />
The Daily Mail had reported prior to Dr.Salia’s demise that he was 
diagnosed with Ebola on Monday and arrived in Omaha on Saturday to be 
treated at the Nebraska Medical Center’s biocontainment unit that has 
successfully treated two other Ebola patients this fall.<br />

It was gathered from the hospital that the 44-year-old Salia might be
 more ill than the first Ebola patients successfully treated in the 
United States.<br />

<em>“This is an hour-by-hour situation,'” </em>Smith said on Sunday, adding that a team of specialists is treating Salia’s most serious issues. <em>“We will do everything humanly possible to help him fight this disease.” </em><br />

Ebola has killed more than 5,000 people in West Africa, mostly in 
Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leona. Of the 10 people treated for the virus
 in the U.S., all but one has recovered.<br />

Salia was reported to have been working as a general surgeon at Kissy
 United Methodist Hospital in the Sierra Leone capital of Freetown.<br />

It’s not clear whether he was involved in the care of Ebola patients 
because Kissy is not an Ebola treatment unit, but Salia worked in at 
least three other facilities, United Methodist News said, citing health 
ministry sources.<br />

There are currently no cases of Ebola in the United States, where 
nine people have been treated for the killer virus.Dr. Salia is the 
tenth.<br />

Prior to Dr Salia’s death, only one – Liberian-born Thomas Eric Duncan – has died from the disease on U.S. soil.</div>

<b>SLUM IN OIL PRICES: A PROGRESSIVE WAY OUT -Bola Tinubu</b><br />
Awash in the great tide of politics, we must not forget why politics can
 be a noble endeavor. It leads to governance. When done correctly, 
governance can reform a nation and improve the lot of the people. In the
 hands of the ignorant and the mean, governance cast abundant misfortune
 upon a nation and upon the welfare of its citizens. <br />
<br />
This commentary concerns governance and policy more than it does 
politics. I offer it to generate debate on an important economic issue. 
No matter who is in power, we must do whatever is in our capacity to do 
to steer the nation away from economic woe. The people have suffered too
 much hardship already. Neither side of the political divide should seek
 to purchase transient advantage at the high price of dousing the people
 in greater economic calamity. Thus, I suggest this progressive’s 
position on how best to shape economic policy during this period of 
falling oil prices. I state this hoping those in charge will take 
pertinent advice from any quarter. My prayer is that they are not so 
stubborn as to adhere to a strategy that will deepen the economic misery
 of our people even when better policy measures are proffered.<br />
<br />
<div>
I confess to writing this also for a reason essentially political but 
non-confrontational. It accentuates the distinction between the 
conservative PDP and the progressive APC. The nation faces momentous 
elections when next year turns to its second month.  The choice is a 
stark one; but many people do not believe as such. The differences are 
vast especially regarding economic policy.</div>

On the one side, the PDP champions a conservative, elitist economic 
model based on the theory that wealth money must first go to the already
 rich and well-heeled  who shall determine how small a fraction of it 
will trickle-down to the rest of society.</blockquote>

On the progressive side, we believe government can fillip economic 
growth and development in such a way that brings the fairness of 
prosperity to all of society. We don’t seek to penalize those who 
already have but we will do our utmost to remove from the clutch of 
poverty the bulk of our people. We seek to turn the hungry suffering of 
our poor and working classes into a dignified livelihood that provides a
 dignified existence for all.<br />
<br />
Global oil prices have fallen from over 100 dollars a barrel to 
approximately 80 dollars per barrel. This slide has caused a 
corresponding drop in government’s dollar revenues. With this, the 
federal government claims it has less money at its disposal and the 
paucity of dollars necessitates austerity measures. Most people accept 
this position as gospel; debate about its correctness has been nil. Yet,
 the stakes are much too high to assume this subjective position as an 
economic certitude or uncritically accept its propriety. What they 
proclaim as policy is not based on any unassailable economic principle. 
It is statement of economic bias that beckons to the wealthy while 
auguring unnecessary hardship for most Nigerians.<br />
<br />
Look at jobless and poverty levels as well as the diminished status of 
our middle class. After viewing these statistics, most objective 
economists would conclude Nigeria is mired in a long-term, secular 
depression.  Forget the rosy GDP numbers. They signify a great economic 
and financial segregation between those who have and others who have 
not. If we continue with the policy preferences of the current 
administration, the haves shall become the "have–mores" and the 
"have-nots" shall become the "have even less." <br />
<br />
The vast majority of the claimed GDP growth has fallen into the laps of 
those already enjoying obvious luxury.  The rest of the people are left 
to gaze at the enormity of the income and wealth chasm separating them 
from the cabal orchestrating the discordant political economy. While a 
small group flourishes, the rest of the nation subsidizes their economic
 bounty. A tight confederacy rides an economic skyrocket while the bulk 
of the people languish in the swamp. For one group, the economy is 
effervescent. For the other, it is catatonic. Nigeria is one nation with
 two economies.   <br />
<br />
For this government to speak of austerity is to further enrich the 
affluent while casting the average Nigerian into greater hardship and 
deeper socio-economic depression. As with the Euro zone the past five 
years since the global financial crisis, austerity has not solved the 
dire economic weakness of the nations that employed this sickening 
remedy. All austerity has done is tighten the grip of the wealthy on the
 economy while weakening the position of the middle class and the poor.<br />
<br />
Austerity weakens aggregate demand, deflating an economy already 
fatigued and against the ropes. Those with hefty portfolios, profit as 
the value of their holdings appreciates by the very dynamics of 
deflation. Those who don’t have, find money even dearer to come by.  
Jobs and commerce disappear. Debt climbs. Deflation turns a noble but 
poor household into a committee of beggars and street urchins. The 
austerity that the current Administration offers is an insensitive, 
myopic policy that lends primacy of favor to meaningless accounting 
figures instead of to the material wellbeing of the people. Austerity 
undermines our economic pillars and breaks the spirit of the people. 
Austerity is the merchant of pessimism and hopeless futility. If you 
desire a nation of thralls, by all means continue this bleak path. If we
 want a nation of prosperity and economic justice, a different course is
 our due.<br />
<br />
Listen carefully to the position of the Jonathan Administration as 
articulated by the finance minister and you shall collide into the 
barricades of illogic and its weighty consequences. The claim is that 
government is low on funds because the lower price of oil means fewer 
dollars are being collected from oil sales. This sounds logical but for 
one fundamental point. The dollar intake is basically irrelevant to 
determining the amount of naira the government commands and places into 
the political economy. This fundamental point reveals the government’s 
position to be the antiquated relic of a past era. It is the way of the 
gold standard which ceased to exist over forty years ago. As such, 
government’s stance is based more on superstition than on the actual 
functioning of modern economy with a sovereign fiat currency of its own.
 <br />
<br />
The last I looked, Nigeria operates a Naira-based economy not a 
dollar-based one. There is no legal or moral restriction strictly 
limiting the amount of Naira in the system to match the amount of 
dollars collected via oil sales. More importantly, there is no economic 
justification for the close linkage implied by the government. If we 
take its position at face value, the Jonathan Administration is 
advocating that we effectively place the Naira and thus our fiscal 
policy on a “dollar standard.” The world jettisoned the gold standard in
 1971 because it proved unworkable, reducing the policy space in which 
governments could pursue fiscal programs promoting full employment and 
social welfare. We should likewise reject this government’s imposition 
of a dollar standard on our nation’s fiscal operations. <br />
<br />
Under the gold standard, a national government took pains not to incur 
budgetary deficits that exceeded the dimensions of its gold reserves. 
This was because the currency had no value by itself. Its value was 
based on the convention that the currency was backed by the nation’s 
gold holdings. Those governments that ran deficits had to pay those 
debts in gold. Given that gold supplies were always and everywhere 
finite and exhaustible, a nation had to keep its deficits within the 
confines of its ability to pay debts in gold. Because of this 
straitjacketing effect, nations would abandon the gold standard during 
harsh economic times in order to give them the fiscal freedom to 
rejuvenate their economies. This was the case during the Great 
Depression with the major economic powers. This should be the case with 
Nigeria today since the bulk of our people live in conditions redolent 
of the Great Depression or any other depression for that matter.<br />
<br />
Our government persists that it must limit fiscal outlays to the amount 
of dollars the nation holds. Similar to the operation of the discarded 
gold standard, following this path is to strap ourselves to austerity 
and the chronic deflation of austerity produces. Worse, it serves to 
enthrall the fiscal policy of our sovereign nation to the monetary 
policy of another country. That nation plies monetary policy to serve 
its interests and not the economic interests of Nigeria. I am baffled 
why this government would give such power over the fate of our economic 
wellbeing to another nation that does not incorporate our interests into
 its decisional processes. This government makes our nation the economic
 servant of another so that government may turn about to make the 
Nigerian people its economic servant. While there is a certain logic to 
this dynamic, it is a perverse and debilitating one. <br />
<br />
Because we operate a sovereign fiat currency the federal government 
issues at its sole discretion, the federal government can never be 
rendered insolvent in Naira. This means it can run Naira fiscal deficits
 indefinitely. The only outer bound is to ensure the fiscal expansion 
does not incur damaging inflation rates. There is no logical reason to 
peg the flow of Naira into the economy to the flow of dollars received. 
The correct perspective is not to mechanistically restrict Naira 
expenditure to dollar intake. This would be tantamount to those crippled
 with economic blinders forcefully leading those who can see we are 
heading for disaster. It points to deflation, recession and worse. The 
better methodology is to ascertain, then achieve, the level of Naira 
expenditure needed to expand the economy and create jobs without causing
 inflation to rise to dangerous levels. This is how broadly-shared 
prosperity is generated in a sustainable manner. <br />
<br />
In this way, the nation’s economic engineers should focus primarily on 
allocating value and opportunity to our underutilized labor force and 
our idle, yet potentially productive capital in a way that promotes 
wealth creation and expansion of aggregate demand. It is this 
sustainment of aggregate demand that empowers the nation to rescue 
itself from the whirlpool of economic contraction. This avenue is more 
benign than the one the federal administration now advocates. Their way 
calls for us to forget growth and for government to preoccupy itself 
with allocating economic misery among those segments of the population 
too poor and weak to contest the immiserating actions of government 
against them.<br />
<br />
In the face of recessionary headwinds, government should run 
countercyclical fiscal policy by using its Naira sovereignty to fund 
fiscal deficits. The deficit is not simply for the sake of running a 
deficit; the funds cannot be spent on nonproductive matters. It must be 
used to fuel infrastructural and other projects that not only employ 
great numbers of people but enhance the overall productivity of the 
economy.  The funds must be used to backstop state governments in a 
nonpartisan manner so that each state government may continue to pay 
salaries and pursue projects essential to that state’s economic critical
 path.<br />
<br />
To accomplish this, the federal government needs to reverse the inimical
 “dollarization” of the national economy in two ways.  First and most 
importantly, it must abandon the outdated peg of fiscal policy and 
expenditures to the dollar intake.  The one actually has no 
correspondent nexus to the other. Any commanding connection we give it 
is an artifice not an economic necessity. Related to this, we must 
reverse a trend that has gained momentum under this government. Among 
government-aligned elites, the fad has been to conduct domestic business
 transactions in dollars.  Policy must “nairasize” the economy by 
requiring all domestic transactions occur in our legal tender. As this 
is done, the government’s infinite ability to issue Naira will come to 
outweigh the limitations inherent in the overuse of the finite supply of
 another nation’s currency for transactions wholly internal to our 
domestic economy.<br />
<br />
Inflation is the major risk of running budget deficits to spur growth. 
We can contain inflation to acceptable levels by ensuring additional 
government expenditures are for items that can be supplied domestically,
 particularly labor. Naira paid to poor and working class people mostly 
circulates in the domestic economy, spurring additional local commerce 
and production. This is because their consumption patterns do not 
approach the level of import expenditures associated with their 
wealthier compatriots. Related to this, we must decrease our level of 
superfluous imports.<br />
<br />
These measures will place downward pressure on the Naira. Devaluation 
will not be destructive but it will be noticeable. For most nations, 
such devaluation would be welcomed as it would make export industries 
more competitive, thus creating jobs and export earnings in the process.
 However, this will not be the case initially for us because of the 
moribund state of our industrial sector.  Here, government would need to
 initiate crash programs aimed at enhancing those domestic industries 
perched on the borderline of international competitiveness.<br />
<br />
In the end, the policy I propose is not without risks, inflation being 
the chief concern. Yet, if wisely prosecuted, the rewards of job 
creation and economic growth allocated among the bulk of the populace 
outweigh the inflationary risk. More to the point, the policy now 
pursued bears no risks at all.  It is certain to toss the average man’s 
economy into a stagnation that will resemble the onset of a major 
recession. Saving the people from this unnecessary plight is sufficient 
imperative to eschew the policies of old and embrace the progressive 
course. <br />
<br />
<b>I offer this advice, this warning, because the people have suffered 
enough hardship. I offer this advice in the slim hope those in power 
will ignore the messenger and objectively weight the quality and humane 
nature of the message</b>. If so, they will spare the people the grief 
visited upon a vulnerable people when their government blindly imposes 
last century’s policies in a modern setting inappropriate to the old 
strictures. Regardless of our partisan affiliations, let us consecrate 
this land by dedicating ourselves to the betterment of the poor, weak, 
and needy members of our national family. Let this moment not pass like 
so many others where we have demanded that the most vulnerable among us 
bear the greatest weight of the national burden. Let us give them the 
hope, change and dignity they deserve and human decency demands. This is
 how we make the nation great. When I speak of a common sense 
revolution, this is what I mean. </div>

Following the death of President Michael Sata last month, the ruling 
Patriotic Front has reportedly been engulfed in a succession wrangle, a 
development that appears to lend some credence to a prophecy made early 
this year by controversial Nigerian clergyman Prophet TB Joshua.<br /><br />On
 February 9 this year, the Nigerian cleric spoke in a church service 
broadcast live via popular Christian television station Emmanuel TV that
 there would be succession disputes in two Southern African nations due 
to illness and death of sitting presidents. He however never mentioned 
the names of those countries.<br /><blockquote class="tr_bq">
“Two of the nations there (Southern Africa) will face a leadership 
tussle because of sicknesses and disease,” the clergyman told his fully 
packed church based in Lagos. </blockquote>

Further, Joshua warned leaders in general to desist from playing 
politics when it comes to the things of God, stressing the repercussions
 were severe. “When it comes to religion and Christianity – don’t play 
politics. You can’t play politics with God unless you want to destroy 
yourself. Politics is a game but there is a limit.”</blockquote>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />Although Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of 
All Nations is yet to confirm if the prophecy in question was refereeing
 to Zambia, some Zambians think the prophecy was directed at Zambia and 
its neighboring Zimbabwe.<br /><br />“We have been having these leadership 
disputes in the PF from the time it was first rumored that the 
president’s health was falling. By the time he died, it has become 
worse. So, you can easily guess that the prophet was talking about 
Zambia and the other country is Zimbabwe. Robert Mugabe is sick. His 
wife, the vice president and other ministers are at each other’s necks 
right now,” argued Michael Kaleji on a Facebook forum.<br /><br />The ruling
 PF is engulfed in a serious succession dispute with party Secretary 
General Edgar Lungu and Acting president Guy Scott employing all manner 
of methods to outdo each other. Although he is not eyeing the PF 
presidency, Dr Scott has been accused by Mr Lungu’s supporters of trying
 to stand in the way of Mr Lungu’s ascendancy to the top PF job.<br /><br />Mr
 Lungu and his supporters have insisted on the idea of having the PF 
central committee choosing the presidential candidate in the upcoming 
elections while Dr Scott has also implored the party to follow its 
constitution which stipulates that a general convention be held to find 
Mr Sata’s successor.<br /><br />Apart from that, there have also been 
attempts to strip Dr Guy Scott of his Acting president position through 
the courts. The case was heard on Friday November 14 although the ruling

Beg Nigerians For Failing Them Woefully ––APC tells Jonathan

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked President Goodluck 
Jonathan to apologise to Nigerians for wasting the mandate they gave him
 rather than asking them for another.<br />
<br />
Describing the Jonathan administration as the worst government ever in 
Nigeria, the party said so many Nigerians cannot wait to elect a better 
President that will have positive impact on them.<br />
<br />
The APC said: “Mr. President, Nigerians have asked themselves a simple 
question: Are we better off today than we were before President Jonathan
 assumed office, and they have unanimously answered  in the negative. 
This is why your declaration failed to resonate, despite the hired 
crowds you ferried to Abuja.”<br />

The party also said it has weighed the President’s claims in his 
declaration speech against the reality on the ground and decided to 
present to Nigerians the true scorecard of President Jonathan in the 
critical spheres of life, including security, education, job creation, 
corruption, power sector, and poverty eradication. Details below:</blockquote>

“Today, after the Jonathan Administration has spent $32 billion on 
security and defence, Nigeria is not any safer, with thousands of 
deaths, 221,000 square kilometres of territory captured by Boko Haram, 
650,000 Nigerians internally displaced and also a daily harvest of 
deaths from ethno-religious crises, clashes between pastoralists and 
farmers, armed robberies and kidnapping.<br />
<br />
“To make matters worse, our once proud and globally-acknowledged 
military has been brought to its knees by lack of necessary fighting 
equipment, even with $32 billion spent. One wonders where the huge funds
 went to”, the party said.<br />
<br />
APC said while the government claimed to have created 1.9 million jobs 
in five years, the truth is that this is a mere tokenism. “Even if the 
jobs they said they have created are not phantom, which we know they 
are, the situation on the ground is grim: 1.8 million Nigerians enter 
the job market every year, 5.3 million youths are unemployed and overall
 20 million Nigerians are in the job market, and these are very 
conservative figures. Therefore, creating 1.9 million jobs over several 
years cannot amount to any achievement,’’ the party said.<br />
<br />
The party also said that while the President promised to eradicate 
corruption in all sectors of the economy, the facts on ground do not 
back the promise. “Mr. President, under your watch, Nigeria’s rating by 
the global anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International has 
fallen. In 2009, Nigeria was rated 133 out of 180 countries while in 
2013, the country was rated 144 out of 177 countries.<br />
<br />
“Mr. President, under your watch, the list of corruption cases begging 
to be handled is long: The missing $20b oil money, the Malabu oil 
scandal, the fuel subsidy scandal, the police pension heist, kerosene 
subsidy, and the sudden drop in the total amount realised from the 
Victims Support Fund from N80b to N60b. Plus the Ministers like Abba 
Moro, who presided over the swindling and death of job seekers, and 
Diezani Alison Madueke, who has presided over the most opaque 
oil industry in history, have rather received presidential cuddling 
instead of sanctions.<br />
<br />
“Also, SURE-P, which was conceived to mitigate the hardship imposed on 
Nigerians by the needless increase in fuel prices, has now become a 
cesspit of corruption, a conduit for siphoning public funds and sure pit
 for money that could have ameliorated the suffering of ordinary 
Nigerians.”<br />
<br />
The APC also said that the statement by President Jonathan that his 
Administration’s "bold move" in the sector has put the country "on the 
road to guaranteed regular power supply in the months ahead" is nothing 
but sheer deceit.<br />
<br />
“Under the Jonathan Administration, Nigerians should not be in a hurry 
to throw away their generators. The facts on the ground show this to be 
true: While the FG has spent 533 billion naira (about $3 billion) on 
power, at best Nigerians enjoy less than six hours of electricity per 
day, where they enjoy it at all, while spending over 800 billion naira 
annually to fuel their generators.<br />
<br />
“Also, the 4,000MW of electricity being generated by Nigeria cannot 
guarantee stable power for 170 million people or propel the country 
towards industrialisation. By comparison, South Africa, with less than a
 third of Nigeria’s population, generates over 44,000MW of electricity. 
There is therefore no way that Nigeria can enjoy a stable power supply 
with a meagre 4,000MW in power generation."<br />

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has cleared the air 
on why the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi dumped the 
‘tattered umbrella’ of the doomed Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and 
embraced the ‘revolutionary broom’ of APC despite having spoken 
negatively about the APC symbol in the past.<br />
<br />
The party warned blackmailers who are so frightened by the high rise of 
the national political profile of Governor Amaechi and are desperate to 
bring him down by attempting to make a mountain out of a molehill to 
look for something better to do as Rivers people and, indeed, Nigerians 
are too politically advanced to be easily deceived by unserious minds 
that clutch at straws in their quest for political relevance.  <br />
<br />
Rivers APC said in a statement issued in Port Harcourt by the State 
Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya: “There is a time and season for 
everything under the sun, as the Holy Book rightly says. It is 
disgraceful that empty minds that cannot stand the rigours of 
intellectual political debate are making so much fuss about a 2011 
statement credited to Governor Amaechi to the effect that ‘those who 
carry brooms are night soil men and juju priests’.<br />

“Like the true African that he is, Amaechi was speaking in parables but 
suffice it to say that he did not in any way contradict himself by later
 dumping the torn umbrella of the doomed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Rivers APC insisted that Amaechi was 100% right in his 2011 statement 
and had to take his leave from the PDP when the mess by the 
PDP-controlled Federal Government under the watch of President Goodluck

country, thus leaving all patriots with no other option than to join the
 league of proverbial night soil men. <br />
<br />
“The mess by the PDP-led Government of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as 
manifested in monumental corruption, suffocating insecurity and 
strangulating economic hardship is such that every Nigerian patriot 
needs to carry brooms to flush out this evil party and clean up the 
country for the sake of present and future generations. There is no 
gainsaying that going by the present sorry state of Nigeria, the country
 desperately needs good night soil men to clean up PDP’s faeces. Indeed,
 it is time for all those who truly love Nigeria to bring the brooms out
 and get down to work with APC’s broom revolution as we seek to bring 
about change after forming the next government in 2015,” Rivers APC 
said.<br />

The party berated the faceless Association of Concerned Indigenes of 
Rivers State and other faceless groups being promoted by the Presidency 
and Rivers State PDP Leader, Nyesom Wike, “for wasting billions of 
taxpayers’ money on a worthless advertorial in some National and Port 
Harcourt based papers in its doomed propaganda campaign that can only 
make Governor Amaechi and APC stronger as they work to salvage Nigeria 
from the evil grip of PDP.”<br />
<br />
The party advised Wike and his cohorts to find something better to do as
 nobody is interested in their childish propaganda campaign which was 
doomed to fail from the very beginning.</div>

 Ayan Qureshi is the youngest computer specialist in the world, having 
passed the Microsoft Certified Professional exam when he was just five.<br /><br />According
 to his IT consultant father Asim, Ayan was introduced to computers when
 he was three and would spend hours each day playing with old hard 
drives and motherboards. Hardly the toys of the average toddler.<br /><br />But
 Ayan, now six, has progressed at a staggering rate since his 
introduction to the world of computers and he has become the youngest 
specialist in the world after passing the Microsoft Certified 
Professional test.<br /><br />‘The hardest challenge was explaining the 
language of the test to a five-year-old. But he seemed to pick it up and
 has a very good memory,’ said his father, Asim.<br /><br />There’s no doubt Ayan has a big future ahead of him.<br /><br />The
 fledgling entrepreneur – who already has his own computer lab at home –
 says he wants to start his own company and set up a tech hub in the UK

She bled.</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 18.2000007629395px;" /><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 18.2000007629395px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18.2000007629395px;">The students around her said they called the university ambulance but there was no answer.
