For Comfort Oluwaseun Adebowale, Marriage is for better for worse. This 
principle has been her  guiding Philosophy since she walked down  the 
aisle with her husband of 15 years Olorode Abimbola Gbenga a teacher in 
Abeokuta Ogun State.<br />
<br />
Comfort  decided to love and give him a chance when they met in 1999 
though he was a nobody then, his parents were late and his family 
abadoned him to fate and harsh realities of the society. She was the one
 paying the bills and sponsoring him in school, in her words" I did it 
for love believing I was investing in the future of the man That I loved
 And wanted to spend the rest of my life with"<br />

Things took downturn in 2008 when the husband got a Job and then his 
behavior  changed, he started keeping late night, started behaving 
funny, answering calls from unknown women and then the worse of it, she 
 became his punching bag<br />

I was enduring, hoping and praying that he will change, I cried to God 
in the night to touch his heart and bring him back home but it seem that
 things were getting worse she told me in an emotion laden voice<br />
<br />
My husband of 15 years decided to rub it on me by dating my friend, a 
prophetess in our church and the wife of the shepherd of  Christ 
Anointed & Miracle Church Aregbesola Eleweran Abeokuta.<br />

In a telephone conversation with this reporter, the battered woman 
narrated that the husband and the prophetess started dating late last 
year and then afraid that Karma will catch him, he directed her not to 
respond, greet  or be found talking with the man he snatched his wife 
who is incidentally the good shephard of their church, Pastor Samuel 
Adeniji, Good Shepherd   position akin to a pastor in modern pentecostal
 church<br />

A directive that she disobeyed on Saturday 3rd January 2015, On her to 
the market, she saw the Pastor that the Husband snatched the wife 
sitting in front of their church, she stopped to greet him  and and 
before one could say Jack Robinson, the Husband appeared on the scene 
and   what happened next looks like a horror straight from Nollywood

The enraged husband slapped her in public and if that was not enough, he
 picked a stone from the ground and smashed it on her fore head, raining
 unprintable words on her and cursing her to die.<br />

 Comfort was left in a pool of her blood and it took the intervention of good spirited individuals who took her to the hospital<br />
<br />
When I asked her whether  she has reported the matter to Police, she 
said yes she has done that  only that his Father-in-Law ACP Olorode 
Timothy  retired as a policeman and the husband has been using that 
influence to stop the police investigation from going on<br />

Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has said the unique thing 
about the forthcoming elections is that Nigerians would have the 
opportunity to change a bad government for the first time.<br />
<br />
Fashola, who stated this during a meeting with members of the IPMAN in 
Lagos noted that Nigerians have experienced good and bad governance in 
the last decades, and urged Nigerians to use the opportunity offered by 
the elections to change the bad government in the country.<br />

According to him, “This is the first time that we, the people, can 
change a government that is bad. This is a full cycle of democracy and 
if we achieve this, power will henceforth stay in the hands of the 
people. If you vote APC and they fail to do well, it is you, the people,
 who will vote them out. That is what is important about this election.”<br />

He pointed out that if the Nigerian people succeed in changing a bad 
government, the succeeding government would remember that it was the 
people that removed the previous one and put them there, adding that 
this consciousness would keep them on their toes to serve the people

Urging the people to be courageous and insist on change of government at
 the centre, Fashola warned that the ruling party, in their desperation,
 would provoke and intimidate them.<br />

He counseled that, “Be gently stubborn. If they do anything, just be 
courageous and keep your PVC. During the time for voting, go to your 
polling booth and vote and remain there until your vote is counted.”</div>

Brig.-Gen. Aliyu Momoh strategising on how to use soldiers to manipulate

But Fayose is trying to confuse the issue. He was heard clearly on tape 
telling the General that Chief of Army staff is working with him through
 the President ('he said President asked him to call him') and that 
Soldiers arrested Policemen who are working for him with a designated

Fayose  denied discussing a rigging plot, adding that “he was accusing 
Gen. Momoh of conniving with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig 
the election”.<br />

He has therefore challenged his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, to go to
 court and prove that the military and the Peoples Democratic Party 
colluded to rig the June 21, 2015, governorship election.<br />
<br />
Fayose also challenged Fayemi to produce the soldiers, who participated 
in the alleged electoral malfeasance in court and insisted that the 
soldiers must produce evidence to back up the allegation.<br />
<br />
The governor was reacting to the ex-governor’s explanations on an ADABA 
88.9 FM programme, “APC Change Hour,” in which Fayemi said some soldiers
 were ready to give evidence in court.<br />
<br />
The audio clip, which has gone viral on the Internet, was aired on the 
programme.  Fayemi said the second part would soon be released and the 
details will shock Nigerians.</div>

The presidential candidate of APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has assured 
that, if elected as the President on March 28, 2015, his government will
 run a market-based economy with a clear and unambiguous regulatory 
framework and effective enforcement mechanism to checkmate corruption.<br />

A statement signed by APC Presidential Campaign Organisation’s director 
of media and publicity, Garba Shehu, quoted Buhari as saying that the 
APC-led government “will insist on and cut out wastages and run a lean 
and efficient administration in order to have funds available for 
capital and development projects that will assure prosperity for all 
Nigerians.”<br />

He also quoted Buhari to have said that ahead of his town hall meeting 
scheduled for Nike Lake Resort in Enugu today, his presidency will 
deepen a viable free market economy in Nigeria and that businesses will 
enjoy marked differences in the environment for undertaking their 
various activities.<br />

The statement added that both local and foreign investors including

Consequently, there is serious panic in the President. Jonathan and 
other leaders of the PDP are unsettled due the exit of Obasanjo, its 
first president and ex-chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT).<br />

While dumping PDP, Obasanjo said “I belong to a party which says Nigeria must not be destroyed.”<br />

The former leader, who also dismissed the idea of interim government, 
declared his departure from the ruling party at his Hilltop Mansion, 
Abeokuta, while hosting members of the PDP from his Ward 11 in Abeokuta 
north local government.<br />

A little drama followed his disengagement from PDP as he gave his 
membership card to the leader of the delegation, Sunmonu Oladunjoye, who
 tore it into shreds.<br />
<br />
Obasanjo in his statement maintained that Nigeria belongs to all, 
stressing that he would continue to protect the interest of the nation.<br />
<br />
“This Nigeria belongs to all of us and it must not be destroyed. This is
 my PDP membership card. Where I am standing is that Nigeria belongs to 
everybody, including babies.<br />
<br />
“We must not allow anybody to destroy it, wherever they come from, 
whatever they have. If they destroy it, it becomes our burden, our 
children’s (burden) and (that of) the incoming generation. I belong to 
the group that believes that Nigeria must not be destroyed.”<br />
<br />
Obasanjo has had a running battle with PDP, a development that led to a series of failed initiatives.<br />
<br />
In December last year, five PDP governors including Godswill Akpabio 
(Akwa Ibom), Liyel Imoke (Cross Rivers), Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Babangida 
Aliyu (Niger) and Sule Lamido (Jigawa), went to appeal to him to rescind
 his stand against the party. The meeting was deadlocked.<br />
<br />
He also failed to show up at President Jonathan’s campaign in Abeokuta, 
Ogun State, and when the president paid him a courtesy visit after the 
rally, Obasanjo did not hide his feeling that he was not in support of 
Jonathan’s ambition after he made him support him in 2011 with a promise
 to handover.<br />
<br />
<b>Jonathan, party leaders hold emergency meeting</b><br />
Immediately after the news of Obasanjo’s exit from the PDP got to the 
presidency, the leadership of the party went into a crucial meeting at 
the presidential villa in Abuja.<br />
<br />
Those at the meeting included President Jonathan; Vice President Namadi 
Sambo; PDP chairman Adamu Muazu; BoT chairman Tony Anenih; Senate 
President David Mark; Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu; PDP deputy
 chairman, Uche Secondus; national security adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki 
and political adviser to the president, Ahmed Rufai Alkali.<br />
<br />
The party is now trying to strategize on how to succeed with Obasanjo's big exit from the party.</div>

Absolutely not! In the PDP, no individual owns the party. I happen to 
have been the first national vice chairman, South-West PDP, and then 
became deputy national chairman South and then deputy national chairman 
for the whole country and having done that, they have honoured me that 
as long as I remain in the party, I remain a member of the Board of 
Trustees and I am the only one representing the South-West in the 
national caucus forever. That is a great honour in our party but I don’t
 decide who becomes a candidate. Primaries were conducted and in this 
particular case, the voice of the people became louder than anybody’s. I
 am not like Bola Tinubu, I don’t have the papers of the party in my 
pocket. I don’t even have a veto power. But the other side doesn’t 
practice democracy. We have friends that are members there. Jimi Agbaje 
has no godfather but will not behave like an authoritarian governor.<br />

<b>But Senator Musiliu Obanikoro said you were the one that imposed Agbaje.</b><br />
That is absolute garbage, he knew he was lying. You know he came from 
their party and that is why he was saying it was me. He has now

A top member of the Peoples Democratic Party has revealed that the 
claims made recently by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo that President 
Goodluck Jonathan is afraid that Muhammadu Buhari might jail him if he

According to PUNCH, a meeting which might hold outside the country   was
 to establish rapport between the two contenders before the election. A 
source close to the Presidency said, “We are trying to broker a meeting 
between the two leaders. The way the presidential electioneering is 
going may create serious divisions among Nigerians. We need to stop

“Apart from this, I think there is serious apprehension in the camp of 
the President that if Buhari wins, he’s going to jail a lot of President
 Jonathan’s supporters for alleged corruption...<br />

The red upper chamber of the national assembly has summoned the Chairman
 of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Attahiru Jega, 
to appear before it Wednesday with information on the level of his 
agency’s preparedness towards the forthcoming general elections.<br />
<br />
The decision was taken following a motion by 
the senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, who noted that there was the need 
for Jega to brief the senators and demonstrate the use of the card 
readers.<br />
<br />
The Minority Leader, Senator George Akume, also 
suggested that the three service chiefs who engineered the postponement 
of the polls from February 14, be equally invited.<br />
<br />
However, while
 Senate President David Mark, was ruling on the motion and the voice 
vote approval of the senators, said the invitation of service chiefs 
would be determined by Jega’s submission on Wednesday.<br />
