We were the ones asking questions while they were replying. <br /> <div style="float: none; margin: 10px 0 10px 0; text-align: center;"> </div> <h4> Do men cheat because of s*x?</h4> “S*x is probably the major cause for all men to cheat”, said Laura. Holly was quick to point out, “It is not always the case that men don’t get great s*x at home. I know it sounds harsh, but men sometimes find it hard to stay faithful”. Friends, better double check on this one in your own life.<br /> <br /> <h4> Do men cheat because of lack of respect?</h4> “Jonathan, my best friend’s partner cheated on her for 6 months before she found out. He said she did not give him respect which made him go astray”, said Holly. “This was probably the only genuine reason a man could give to the question, why do men cheat. Genuine, but not good enough”, said Laura. “He could always have talked it out. I’m not sure if lack of respect is the justification for cheating”, she added.<br /> <h4> Do men cheat because of monotony?</h4> “Mike always told me that his life was getting monotonous day by day. He would come home from work and complain that every day was the same. I feel that this frustration drove him to cheat”, said Laura. We could see the anger on Laura’s face and could sure understand what she meant when she said, “Life is tough and can sometimes get monotonous. That does answer the question ‘why do mean cheat’, does it?”, she asked.<br /> <div> <h4> Do men cheat because of long distance relationships?</h4> We were hoping Holly would answer this question and tell us what it has got to do with long distance relationships, because she was in one herself. She did not disappoint us and gave us some great insight. “My ex and I were living in different cities for about 2 years. I got suspicious when he started avoiding my calls and started using frequent excuses and reasons to avoid my calls. I decided to travel to Atlanta where he was based. I crashed into his apartment only to find him with his secretary”, said Holly. “My case is a typical answer to our question. I think that the distance caused my ex to cheat”, she said, disappointed.<br /> <h4> Do men cheat because they are inherently unfaithful?</h4> “Absolutely not”, said Holly. We all bump into charming men who may flirt a bit with women but stay in their limits. Men who can stay committed in the most vulnerable of situations are hard to find, but they do exist”, she added. This brings us to the conclusion that men aren’t inherently unfaithful and hence, it can’t be the answer to our question.<br /> <h4> Do men cheat because of chauvinism?</h4> “I think that the idea of chauvinism and male dominance has got a lot to do with unwrapping the answers to our question”, pondered Laura. Holly agreed and said, “Male chauvinism can sometimes make a man think that that he can get away with everything, including cheating on his partner. 2015 Elections: Why APC May Lose Lagos State

Wole Soyinka just described President Goodluck Jonathan as the biblical Nebuchadnezzar, and while I certainly agree with him, I would like to say<br /> <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a> we have a Nebuchadnezzar and Emperor Nero rolled into one in Lagos state and that man unfortunately is APC chieftain Bola Tinubu.<br /> <br /> Nebuchadnezzar in the sense that he has allowed the spirit of grand delusion take over him completely which like the biblical Aramean (present day Syria) King saw him become delusional and began to boast of all his achievements and conquests to the extent of turning himself into a god to be worshipped by the people. God Almighty made him fully insane, losing all of his sanity, dethroned him for seven years before restoring him back to the throne and he then learnt to praise the true God. Emperor Nero on his part is more associated with the term “fiddling while Rome was burning”, but his major problem was his tyranny and arrogance towards the people he ruled which led to disobedience and wars against him. The same arrogance you can find on the part of Tinubu and those within his inner circle still enjoying his political clout.<br /> <br /> Like Nebuchadnezzar, I wouldn’t be shocked if PDP takes over Lagos state at least for the next eight years starting from 2015 so as to humble Tinubu, and make him realise whatever he has become in Lagos and to the Yoruba people is not by any act of perfection of his but just by the mercies of God. Tomorrow APC would all things being equal “select” its gubernatorial candidate and pointers are that the anointed candidate by godfather Tinubu, Akinwunmi Ambode would be selected. I say selected because judging from the outcome of the primaries for the state House of Assembly, preferred candidates from the Tinubu camp scored over 95% of the votes in their constituencies in some cases 100% in what was supposed to be open and fair primaries, thus its clear Ambode would be selected on Thursday December 4th with a large proportion of the votes at the primaries.<br /> <br /> The situation report from all the different constituencies where the House of Assembly primaries were held, was that party delegates were instructed to vote in full for any candidate anointed by Tinubu. They were simply told at the election venues that the godfather had asked them all to vote for just one person. It’s the same procedure to be adopted for Ambode’s victory and some candidates vying, may have zero votes put behind their names if they don’t step down before Thursday.<br /> <br /> You wonder why should Lagos state with all the talk of progressivism be run that way? What is the essence of attending the US Democratic party’s convention and not bringing back any ideas from there? Did Tinubu just attend to have a photo-op and boost his own political status or was he there to learn one or two new things to help move his own party forward? You had the better part of a year for succession planning even if you wanted to have some level of control in the party as a leader in it, together with ‘Tunde Fashola why didn’t you take the most part of the year to plan the race for his successor? Why all the last minute rush and deception that smacks of the archaic politics still being played in Lagos state?<br /> <br /> The APC (all through its metamorphosis in Lagos state) has become a victim of its own success in the last 16 years and you shouldn’t be shocked so many people want to share in that success, after-all they all worked for it too. For one man to believe he alone is the architect of the whole success would be stretching it to the level of grand delusion and just like Nebuchadnezzar he would soon be dethroned by God just so he can learn who is the Almighty. In 2007 when Action Congress was not even yet as successful as this, we had lots of candidates who wanted to succeed Tinubu, and luckily I’m sure through divine guidance a man foretold in Fashola was given the ticket and he hasn’t disappointed.<br /> <br /> His performance over the last eight years (with plenty of work yet to be done in mass populated areas) has further made the party now called APC a victim of its own success and so many more candidates want to succeed him. In an age where even in the United Kingdom, century old parties like the Conservatives are seeing members crying out for open primaries rather than the age long style of selection of candidates that only ensures the elites and private school tutored boys get into government, Lagos state under Tinubu is preserving the Conservative style where only his own cronies. family members, relatives and children whose fathers are known get into position in the state yet we call ourselves progressives, democrats or forward thinking.<br /> <br /> What does it cost Tinubu and APC in Lagos state to organise a proper primary and state convention like its done in countries where he has visited and been seen photographed in their own democratic conventions?<br /> <br /> Its even worse when you perceive that the same Tinubu looks to be a misogynist and finds it hard to give women opportunities except they are his close family members and relatives. In 1999, he found it hard to work with Kofo Akerele-Bucknor and they parted ways in 2002. Maybe you did blame it on the lady and excuse Tinubu, but he went on to have the same problem with another deputy this time a male. Compare it with Fashola who had Sarah Sosan as his deputy from 2007 and they had a brilliant working relationship. The powers that be which of course is Tinubu decided without explanation that Sosan had to be dropped in 2011 and brought another female in Orelope-Adefulire and yet Fashola had a no issues working with her till date. It leaves one wondering if truly Tinubu isn’t the problem considering he couldn’t work with a female deputy and if he isn’t a misogynist – someone who finds it hard to trust women and their abilities except in his case they are his family members or relations. -<br /> <br /> Take a look at the House of Assembly primaries and you find lots of women either not returning as candidates for the party or they were not given a chance at all. In Oshodi-Isolo 2 constituency the female candidate there a current state legislator was routed by a fresher Ladi Ajomale, son of the APC state chairman Henry Ajomale. In Amuwo-Odofin 2 constituency, the female candidate a state legislator was also defeated by a Tinubu favoured candidate. In Ikeja 1 constituency Kenny Saint Brown (KSB, popular musician and younger sister to Kenny Ogungbe) was not even given much of a chance as she lost by a wide margin to another fresher just like her Jimi Mohammed, son of Lai Mohammed the APC National Publicity secretary.<br /> <br /> Though KSB is quite new to the political scene one would have thought been a woman (a sector of our society and politics that can be classed as vulnerable people) she should have been given more support and help to achieve her dreams. You may say its politics and the majority wins but compare it with another popular face Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot totally new to politics but defeating an incumbent Kabiru Lawal to win in Surulere Constituency 1 and then you now the APC is possibly a party led by misogynists. Take a look also at Ikeja Constituency 2, the only female candidate in that constituency out of several male contenders was first disqualified by the APC state screening committee citing the fact that she has no political experience. A candidate who has been with the party since 1999 under Alliance for Democracy (AD) attended several meetings of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Organisation (BATCO) those days when its head office was at Aromirein Ikeja.<br /> <br /> A candidate who has held political positions within the Local Government (Ikeja LG/Ojodu LCDA) and you say such person has no political experience. In any case even when the folly was rectified and they went to primaries, the godfather brought a certain Damola Kasumu with zero political experience, who is a nephew to Tinubu to be declared the winner. The female candidate was given no chance, the rest of the candidates too no chance in hell just because the godfather wants to compensate his nephew.<br /> <br /> The Kasumu according to reports widely written about him in the Nigerian press is said to be the surviving child of the late Abibatu Mogaji (a woman Tinubu related to as his mother) but his known to be a drunkard with slurred speech who mismanaged the businesses he inherited from his late mother and had ran into hard times. While all that is none of my business really, but the emerging trend is that in Lagos state there is now a glass-ceiling on people’s political ambitions and only Tinubu can decide what you become in the state. I heard Fashola some months back talking about if having to choose between freedom and development he did choose freedom any day.<br /> <br /> The likes of Musiliu Obanikoro who defected from the AD to PDP despite the help he got from Tinubu, as well as Jimi Agbaje who has never teamed up with the so called progressives may be right after all. What’s the point calling yourself a progressive and you have to be under one man’s group thinking? You not allowed to make your own decisions, pursue your own dreams whether you fail or win, neither are you able to stand out and criticise the the man if he is failing.<br /> <br /> <b><i>Ola’ Idowu is a management consultant and researcher. After one of his cunning tales got him appointed as the class president, he raided the class, taking everyone’s shoes then made a shoe store. He told the class he had transformed their lives. “Look at that! Now you have a shoe store,” Jonathan beamed.<br /> <br /> Jonathan had a friend named Bafarawa. Bafarawa was a true friend. When the classmates wanted to pounce on Jonathan, Bafarawa said “he is still learning.”<br /> <br /> <b>Then one day it was time for the final exam</b>.<br /> <br /> Jonathan was not ready. He had used the candle only for notorious deeds. He had burned the lamp oil only to play dice. Jonathan had never opened a textbook. He had never taken notes nor done any assignments. He didn’t know his teachers names, and had no idea what the subjects were.<br /> <br /> Jonathan planned to cheat, but he wasn’t sure he would pass. Jonathan was sweating. He was perplexed. He couldn’t see his good luck or wittiness getting him out of this one. He raided the rooms of smart students and carted away their computers and study materials, but that didn’t help.<br /> <br /> As Jonathan got more and more desperate, he tried to bring all his classmates down so he could pass by being above the curve, but no one was listening. Not just the class, or the school but the entire community now knew Jonathan. They were all tired of his pranks.<br /> <br /> Jonathan figured he will have to study, so he tried his best to do a crash course. He invited gangsters from the neighboring towns to help him out, but that got him nowhere. He borrowed money and bought the best study tools, but it was just too late. He even bought printers to print his homework. The PDP administration has now engineered a postponement using the threat that security will not be guaranteed across the length and breadth of Nigeria because of military engagement in some states in the North East. It is important to note that although INEC acted within its constitutional powers, it is clear that it has been boxed into a situation where it has had to bow to pressure.<br /> <br /> Thus, the independence of INEC has been gravely compromised.<br /> <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br /> As a Nigerian and a presidential candidate in the elections, I share in the disappointment and frustration of this decision. This postponement coming a week to the first election has raised so many questions, many of which shall be asked in the days ahead. However, we must not allow ourselves to be tempted into taking actions that could further endanger the democratic process. <br /> <br /> Our country is going through a difficult time in the hands of terrorists. Any act of violence can only complicate the security challenges in the country and provide further justification to those who would want to exploit every situation to frustrate the democratic process in the face of certain defeat at the polls.<br /> <br /> If anything, this postponement should strengthen our resolve and commitment to rescue our country from the current economic and social collapse from this desperate band. Our desire for change must surpass their desperation to hold on to power at all cost. We are clearly dealing with people who feel they can get away with placing their personal interest over those of our nation and its citizens. What is at stake is the very survival of our country. We must not allow this temporary delay to abort this great opportunity. While I share the pains and frustrations of my fellow citizens over this development, my deep faith in the democratic process assures me that this country, with your support, will overcome.<br /> <br /> We must remain resolute and rise above all provocations. We must continue to trust in the entire democratic process and in INEC, which has been brought under so much pressure in the last few days. Our trust can only serve to encourage the electoral body to remain steadfast and remain committed to the rule of law. I wish to state strongly that our party will not tolerate any further interference with the electoral process. The rescheduled elections of March 28th and April 11th, 2015 must be sacrosanct.<br /> <br /> Nigeria is definitely greater than any of us, and much more important than our individual ambitions. Before us there was Nigeria, and long after we are gone there will still be Nigeria. Let us continue to do our part to make it thegreat country that it should be. We must rescue our dear country. He recalled his past experiences most especially at his alma mata, Saint Ann School, and disclosed that he was about seven or eight years old when he and his colleagues discovered that their biscuits and other provisions repeatedly kept on missing. He added that he and his colleagues came to the conclusion that the matron who had access to their belongings must be stealing from them.<br /> <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br /> Sanusi said that he had one day discovered that his box was emptied by unknown person and pledged to confront the school matron.<br /> <br /> Emir Sanusi recalled that he led the first demonstration at the age of seven at Saint Ann, School, Kaduna, Kaduna State.<br /> <br /> According to him, the school was initially a girls only school until it incorporated boys. The school authority permitted the boys students to use the school dormitory to keep their belongings and a matron was appointed to supervise and took care of the boys’ boxes.<br /> <br /> Emir Sanusi described himself as the person who always talks about missing items.<br /> <br /> He said that it has been difficult for him or any other person to express the enormity of what Allah has done for him. It would be recalled that since he became emir of Kano, Sanusi had made it clear that the position comes from God.<br /> <br /> According to him, it is not because one is clever or connected, that he is favoured with appointment but at the prerogative of the Creator to give to whoever He so wishes.<br /> <br /> On the question of his knowledge of the Bible, Sanusi II responded that he was the best in Bible Knowledge and had scored a distinction in Bible Knowledge in his common entrance examination.</div> </div> </div>

Indeed, I can say that he has tried his best for Nigeria.<br /> <br /> But the point is that when you have a president who says that stealing is not corruption and treats corruption with kids gloves, then most of that money released, just disappears. There is no system that will progress if there is no accountability. Jonathan has tried, but he has left the core issues which are security and corruption hanging loose.<br /> <br /> If you cannot secure the lives of Nigerians, then I do not see why you are there as the Commander-in-Chief of the country. You are keeping some of us sleepless.<br /> <br /> Right now, we have a country where kidnapping is the order of the day; a country where unemployment is off the roof, about 80 million Nigerians unemployed; we have a country that God has blessed with petroleum, but we are importing oil and refineries are left unutilised. We have a country where the index of growth which is power, is virtually non-existent.<br /> <br /> Nigeria is 187 out of 189 on the global index, so we are almost the last on the list of countries in terms of availability of power. We generate less than 4000 megawatts of electricity for 170 million people; while South Africans are 50million people and they generate about 40,000 megawatts of electricity.<br /> <br /> The president has not dealt with the core issues that would have made Nigeria what it ought to be. We know what our foreign reserve was when he came in. It was $48 billion; now we know what it is. Naira is going down the drain with over N200 to the dollar; our money is almost getting valueless. So when you ask me to compare the two, I think that we do not have a comparison to make.<br /> <div> </div> <b>You were the Principal Staff Officer to Buhari when he was the GOC of the 4th Division of the Nigerian Army. What do you make of the controversy over his missing certificate?</b><br /> Honestly, the certificate issue is very embarrassing to some of us because here we are talking about the survival of Nigeria. We know that Nigeria is at the brink of collapse and here we are, with one of our best Generals, who have trained in the best institutions in Europe and America, including the United States War College, which by all standards is a Post Graduate institution, and you are talking about school certificate.<br /> <br /> I find it ridiculous and unbelievable how our political class could be so petty and mundane at this particular crucial time. It is unnecessary to go that low because we must win at all cost.<br /> <br /> The certificate saga is something that they should realise that they are denigrating the image of Nigeria and not just General Buhari.<br /> <br /> That is one of your best Generals and you are denigrating him. If you are the one trying to use a non-issue to disparage Buhari, what should outsiders think of us? We must be careful of what we do and not take it that far.<br /> <br /> <b>How convinced are you that General Buhari can perform better than Jonathan if he wins the next election?</b><br /> Everybody has antecedents; I have worked under Buhari as his Principal Staff Officer when he was a GOC. We know him as incorruptible, we know him as being a man of Spartan life, one who is disciplined. We know him as a man of his words; his word is his bond, so he can be trusted. He has been patriotic, he is an achiever, one that you give a task to, and he gets it done.<br /> <br /> To us in the army, we know that there is no doubt that General Buhari is vying to become the president of Nigeria virtually for only patriotic reasons. I was privileged to visit him in Daura when I went there to attend an event; I was amazed to find out that Buhari has only a bungalow in his village and nothing more. There were no luxury leather chairs there but simple wooden chairs. He lives a Spartan life because he does not believe in tampering with money that is not his.<br /> <br /> <b>But many have described Buhari as a religious fanatic? Aren’t you worried about that?</b><br /> To be an effective commander, you have to be seen as being neutral. So in the army we do not tolerate such.<br /> <br /> <b>Playing of naked politics</b><br /> The troops are made up of Christians, Muslims and other religions, and you have to command them. So, if anybody is trying to input that Buhari is a religious bigot, just know that the person is playing naked politics, far from the truth.<br /> <br /> <b>Are you not worried that militants have threatened war if the election does not favour their own candidate?</b><br /> Well I am not surprised that this is coming up because, for long or too long we have treated militants and all sorts of law-breakers in this country with kid’s gloves. We have even talked of negotiating with Boko Haram, people who do not just shoot but also slit throats. They have been killing people like goats. It is hard to believe that the government spends N24 b annually on the militants for them to guard our pipelines. Yet they do not guard the pipelines. They break it and scoop oil making us to lose about $1m every day. So if an individual now goes to buy warship, you can imagine what is on the ground. A war ship is never switched off; it is always on 24 hours of the day. It is expensive to maintain it. And that is what an individual has. We have given them too much latitude and too much money. It has come to a point where we must assert our sovereignty as a people because the country belongs to every one of us.<br /> <br /> They buy war ships, build universities abroad and live in luxury while the majority wallows in abject poverty. This impunity must stop else Nigeria will go down the drain.<br /> <br /> It’s unfortunate that many Nigerians do not know that Nigeria is sinking. It must be prevented. When people make such statements, you can imagine the state of madness that we are in.</div> </div>

The plaintiffs are said to have settled for trying Buhari for alleged ‘perjury’ instead of outright non-possession of certificate following legal advice that the latter would be more difficult to prove within the time at their disposal.<br /> <br /> Vanguard learnt that although Jega reluctantly succumbed to pressure from the Presidency and its security chiefs to shift the polls, he might still not be allowed by the forces to conduct the rescheduled elections between March 28 and April 11. Vanguard gathered from competent sources that the Presidency was no longer comfortable with Jega and was, therefore, working tirelessly to get him out of the commission to pave the way for a more ‘trusted hand’ to conduct the rescheduled elections.<br /> <br /> It was learnt that the forces arrayed against the INEC boss had convinced the President not to renew Jega’s tenure, which is expected to lapse on June 13 this year. The forces, it was learnt, felt that Jega was rather too ‘difficult’ to deal with, having not allowed himself to be dictated to by anyone since assuming office like other appointees of the government.<br /> <br /> It was learnt that in a bid to sweep off Jega from his seat without raising any dust, he would be asked to comply with the civil service procedure by proceeding on his three months terminal leave with effect from March 1, this year since he is expected to retire on June 13.<br /> <br /> <b>S-West gov’s brother may replace Jega</b><br /> Vanguard gathered that in his place, the Presidency was considering bringing in another academic from the South-West, who is currently heading a tertiary institution in the country. The professor of Political Science and International Relations is said to be a sibling of a serving governor in the South-West, who is a close ally of President Goodluck Jonathan and his party.<br /> <br /> Competent sources also told Vanguard last night that although the name of the academic had been made known in security circles, it was not clear whether the man had been cleared by the forces with a view to sending his name to the National Assembly for possible confirmation, as required by law.<br /> <br /> <b>Working against Jonathan’s interest</b><br /> As a prelude to removing Jega from office, some close allies of the President had started accusing him of taking side with the opposition to undermine the success of Jonathan and his party in the next election. Earlier last week, Jonathan’s godfather, Chief Edwin Clark and other prominent politicians from the Southern part of the country had accused Jega of working against the interest of the president and the PDP and asked him to resign from the commission.<br /> <br /> Although no evidence was adduced by Clark and his group to support their allegation, they nonetheless called for the arrest of Jega. Similarly, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, on Saturday, said Jega had lied about the state of the commission’s preparedness for the conduct of the election.<br /> <br /> In the same vein, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Olisa Metuh, accused INEC of working with the opposition to deny its members of permanent voter cards in some states. He called on the security agents to probe the commission over the development.</div> </div> </div>

Whoever these faceless people are, you will not give our wives, spouses, girlfriends, love interests and/or side chicks mouth to talk.</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> Last year, the <strong>Independent National Electoral Commission</strong> announced that the 2015 Presidential, Gubernatorial and Legislative elections would be held on February 14, 2015, <strong>Valentine’s Day</strong>. We Nigerian men were mortified, livid and shocked all at once!</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> St. Valentine (may his good soul rest in peace) took the pain, spent his entire life making sure the world took one day out of every year for lovers to show their partners some extra love. He literally gave his life for the day. Somewhere down the line in Nigeria, that turned into men spending lots of money on their women. We don’t complain about the status quo, we just do as we are told.</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> INEC just had to mess things up this Valentine’s Day in 2015. Jega, you had only one job and you still screwed it up!</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> Now, let me dispel the rumours we’ve heard about some of we Nigerian men being extremely happy that Valentine’s Day would not hold as due to the elections; this is a lie. We were sad and totally anguished in our hearts. We were so looking forward to making things work this year…</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> As soon as the news came about, we the Association of Loving Nigerian Men (ALMN) got together for a council meeting. Most of our excos took time off their busy schedules to attend the emergency meeting.</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> We came to the conclusion that even though INEC might have wanted to throw a monkey wrench in our plans, we would find another means to spend all of our January Salary on our women. We then postponed Vals Day to March 28, 2015 but would disclose this officially on the night of February 13, 2015.</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> We were totally shocked to hear that Jega and his <u>INEC gang have also postponed the Presidential Elections to March 28 also</u>! We have no other cause but to believe that some people just don’t want us to celebrate Vals day!</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> The ALMN met this morning and have concluded that our Vals Day will still hold on March 28, 2015. We will stay at home and be with our women; as the election will be held simultaneously, we won’t be going out to any dinner or spending money buying anything on that day. For our single men, they will stay away from their lovers' houses as the Election day requires little movement around town.</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify"> We feel we have to stand our grounds here.
