<strong>Muhammadu Buhari</strong>, who was today announced the winner of the 2015 Presidential elections under the <strong>All Progressive Congress</strong>(APC), has announced free tuition in all Federal universities and polytechnic in the country.<div align="justify">

Speaking
 to journalists today, the President-elect said he is declaring free 
education at tertiary level in appreciation of the support given to his 
mandate by Nigerian youths.</div>
<div align="justify">

<div align="justify">
“I want to thank you all for your support,” Buhari announced.</div>
<div align="justify">
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
According
 to him, most of those who supported him are youths and the only way to 
repay them is to give them access to education at all levels.</div>
<div align="justify">

<div align="justify">
“Education
 is important and I pledge to make sure, as soon as I take-over, that 
you don’t have to pay for it in any federal university or polytechnic in
 this country,” the President-elect said.</div>
<div align="justify">
Buhari also said he has plans to extend the free education to primary and secondary schools in the nearest future.</div>

This is good news for many young Nigerians who face rising tuition fees at their various institutions.</div>

<strong>                    Counting of the ballot papers has commenced in different 
states across the country and was still continuing into the late hours 
of Saturday, even as the Independent National Electoral Commission 
(INEC) has extended voting until Sunday, March 29, in states where card 
readers failed.</strong><br />

<strong>                   UPDATE:</strong> Attahiru Jega, the INEC chairman, took part in a press conference in the evening of March 29, 2015, Sunday.<br />

The collation of results of Saturday’s election in Lagos is still 
ongoing at the various collation centres across the state. At the state 
INEC secretariat in Yaba, few people are seen moving around in the 
premises. But there are over a dozen armed security agents stationed 
around the secretariat. An official said the place would become a 
beehive of activities in the evening when final results from all the 
centers would start coming in.<br />

<strong>Ogun</strong><br /> Counting of votes has commenced in many 
polling units in Ogun State. As at 4.30 p.m., many of the centres had 
started collation and counting of the votes while voters waited 
patiently to witness the process. Agents of the various parties were 
also seen at the polling units. Long queues of voters were, however, 
still seen in some polling units at 4:45 p.m.<br />

According to PM news, All Progressive Congress won in four councils 
while the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP won in the remaining three.<br />

Collation of results of Saturday’s presidential election is underway 
at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral 
Commission in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. Residents of most of 
the local government’s areas, which results have been announced, voted 
at the internally displaced people’s camps in Maiduguri.<br />

 Holpin,(pictured with his fiancee above) 56, from Monmouthshire, says 
he can only remember half their names and would not recognise some if he
 passed them in the street.<br />
                      The recovering alcoholic claims he 
tries to keep track of all his children – aged between three and 37 – by
 having their names tattooed across his back.<br />
                      He admits he would 
not recognise many in the street and 16 were taken into care by social 
services because of his 'drinking and womanising'.He told Dailymail<br />

Eminent lawyer has condemned the drama staged by a former Minister of 
Niger Delta, Godsday Orubebe at the collation centre of the presidential
 election in Abuja to disrupt the proceeding.<br />

Reacting to this ugly action, Lagos based lawyer, Festus Keyamo 
condemned the show of shame saying Orubebe’s action is capable of 
plunging Nigeria into a civil war if not checked.<br />

of this country. It was this same attitude that led to the civil war in

The  Peoples Democratic Party has said it will challenge the outcome of 
the March 28 presidential poll at the tribunal. INEC, through its 
Chairman and Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on Wednesday,
 declared Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as the 
winner of the election.<br />

The PDP through its agent at the National Collation Centre in Abuja on 
Wednesday, when the final result was declared, had refused to sign the 
result sheet despite its candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, having 
earlier conceded defeat.<br />

‎The agent of the PDP, Bello Fadile, who was in attendance when parties 
were being called upon to sign the result sheet, told journalists 
shortly after the result was declared that the party was not satisfied 
with the outcome of the election and had decided to challenge it in 
court.<br />

“Whether I sign it (the result sheet) or I don’t sign it,  does not make
 any difference. It doesn’t invalidate the result‎. When we go to court,
 then we can challenge the result,” Fadile said.<br />

When asked to confirm if the PDP will challenge the result at the 
presidential election petitions tribunal, Fadile added, “Sure! The party
 petitioned. Don’t forget. So the party will follow through the 
petition. There are rules for this. The law is there.<br />
<br />
“The result was declared on the 1st of April, I think. We will follow 
the due process. Like the president (Jonathan) said, ‘If you have any 
grievances, follow due process and the due process in this instance is 
to go to the tribunal.”</div>

to campaign for him properly and stop wasting their time making 
Muhammadu Buhari popular but they refused to listen. Today the result is
 out - Jonathan is going home to be on his own!<br />

The outcome of the 2015 elections has thrown President Goodluck Jonathan
 up as a true hero of democracy. Wherever he goes, history will 
vindicate him as a man who genuinely served and left the stage when it 
became expedient under democratic circumstances.<br />

For many, there was no how the polls would have been conducted without 
any crisis resulting from it. The fact that he could concede defeat was 
an act thought alien to the Nigerian politician.<br />
<br />
By calling the president-elect, he enters into the pantheon of 
nationalists and many will accept and appreciate his good nature. There 
has been so much tension and apprehensions now with that singular act; 
he has through exemplary conduct doused tension and showed that the 
panic and hate speech that characterises the 2015 electioneering by 
Nigerians are needless.<br />
<br />
President Jonathan has shown how well he is committed to allowing free 
and fair elections in the country. In the past, he displayed statemanly 
disposition when his party lost in Anambra, Ondo and Osun State. 
Although his party won in Ekiti, it cannot be linked to rigging.<br />
<br />
Jonathan has restored hope in one Nigeria and obviates the feeling of 
insecurity and apprehension over possible outburst of crisis in the 
nation as the 2015 election erased the ignoble do or die agenda of most 
dye-in-the-wool poll.<br />
<br />
While his party loyalists created a feeling of insecurity in the country
 with a view to exploiting such to achieve their “inordinate ambition”, 
Jonathan rose above the fray by insisting that his continued stay in 
power was not worth anybody’s life.<br />
<br />
It is to his eternal credit that bloodshed has been averted. His 
stedfastness on ensuring that people’s votes count in the spirit of one 
man, one woman, one youth, one vote without unleashing the apparatus of 
state security on opponents makes him an undisputable hero of Nigeria’s 
transitional democracy.<br />
