Politics have started real time. The Redeemed Church has dissociated 
itself from rumours making the rounds that its General Overseer, Pastor 
Enoch Adeboye, gave his blessings to the vice-presidential ambition of a
 former Lagos Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Yemi 
Osinbajo.<br />
<br />
The RCCG headquaters denied celebrating the emergence of the law 
professor who pastors its Olive Parish located on the very expensive 
Banana Island in Lagos.<br />

Writing on its official Twitter page on Wednesday, the church said it does not dabble into politics in any shade or colouration.<br />
<br />
“We are a mission and we do not meddle in politics,” the RCCG stated 
while urging Nigerians to be wary of fictitious and misleading social 
media accounts dragging its name into the murky waters of politics.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, reactions have begun to trail the emergence of Osinbajo as Buhari’s running mate for the 2015 presidential election.<br />
<br />
While many applauded the opposition party for coming up with Osinbajo, a
 cross section of Nigerians are said to have disagreed with his 
emergence.<br />

Supporters of Osinbajo have disagreed with those questioning his 
emergence. Online commentator, Dipo Awojide, expressed confidence that 
the APC presidential candidate being an academic, would bring dynamism 
to governance, at the national level.<br />
<br />
Awojide described the law professor as an upright Nigerian and a role 
model who has mentored scores of young men and women on ways of 
“building careers without stealing.”<br />
<br />
Describing him as a man of deep intellectual persuasion, Awojide 
tweeted, “As a Nigerian and as a member of the RCCG, I’m proud of Prof. 
Osinbajo. No apologies.<br />
<br />
“Call him Prof. Osinbajo, call him Pastor Osinbajo, call him all you 
like, but you know you can’t call him a thief and a looter. Being 
neutral in an era of misgovernance and misrule is unwise. You don’t have
 to join a political party, just vote for the best man.”<br />
<br />
Activist Gbenga Sesan also hailed Osinbajo’s emergence, stating that the
 Buhari-Osinbajo ticket would form a government that would “demonstrate 
the capacity for competitive action over mediocrity.”</div>

Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Public 
Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, has said that the choice for the 2015 
presidential election is crystal clear before Nigerians, noting that, it
 is either Nigerians vote good luck or back luck.<br />

Okupe while speaking at an event organised to unveil the candidate of 
President Goodluck Jonathan held at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos, said,
 "There are two candidates for next year’s election, it is between 
Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari. The choice in this election is 
crystal clear, it is either good luck or bad luck. We are not there yet 
but we will get there very soon.”<br />

“People say I am a Goodluck Jonathan fanatic and it is true. I stand for
 and work for what I believe. I have worked for two presidents and I 
speak because I believe in what I say. I do not wish to denigrate 
anybody. This Goodluck Jonathan is the very best that we have seen.<br />

“There is no offense to compare ourselves with our Lord. The man 
Goodluck Jonathan bears a lot of burden, he keeps quiet, he is focused 
and does not talk anyhow so that Nigeria will remain one. There are 
members of the opposition that are deaf. It is not by coincidence that 
every good thing is happening in Nigeria,” he said.<br />

Guest speaker at the event, Professor Dupe Olatunbosun said “I have 
looked at the presidential candidates of the two political parties (PDP 
and APC) and I intend to compare the two of presidential candidates 
because they have both served as presidents of this country.”<br />
<br />
“Despite all the challenges we are facing, Nigeria’s economy has 
improved to become the number one economy in Africa, but the problem I 
have is that the wealth of this country is still in the hands of some 
few. I see a lot to be done. Corruption needs to be combated in all 
fronts in our society.”<br />
<br />
“During the Goodluck administration, the Freedom of Information bill was
 passed. We all know that when Buhari was Head of State of this country,
 he did not have the challenges president Jonathan had,” Olatubosun 
said.</div>

Serious Panic in PDP, Presidency Over Osinbajo

presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate, Peoples 
Democratic Party (PDP) chiefs have returned to the drawing board.</div>

be jittery over the choice of the professor of Law and former 
Attorney-General and Commissioner for justice, Lagos State.

•If the APC goes for a Moslem-Moslem 
ticket, it (the PDP) will brand the opposition party as insensitive to 
Nigeria’s glaring religious divides; and</div>

•A Southwest candidate will make it 
difficult for the PDP to win the zone’s sympathy. Now the APC has picked
 a son in-law of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who is revered 
even beyond the zone.</div>

Osinbajo’s “impeccable” personality has 
dismantled every plan to launch an attack on the person of the APC 
presidential running mate, it was said.</div>

The ruling PDP had plotted to latch on 
religious factor to win the sympathy of Nigerians during the campaign 
for 2015 presidency.</div>

There were strong indications yesterday 
that the PDP has returned to the drawing board on how to curtail the 
growing support base for APC.</div>

According to sources, PDP leaders were shocked that APC chose a running mate without rancour.</div>

It was learnt that PDP had expected a slip from APC in order to make a campaign gain from it.</div>

had already been positioned to launch vexatious propaganda against the

 the grand son of the late sage, Mr. Segun Awolowo by making him the

“The ruling party is now left to base its campaign on issues than sentiments.”</div>

Contacted, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, said the party could not lose sleep over Osinbajo.</div>

hundreds of commissioners in the country. The APC vice- presidential

                   The Central Bank of Nigeria has disclosed that the commemorative N100
 banknote unveiled recently by the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, is 
going into circulation from Friday.<br />

This is contained in a statement signed by Ibrahim Mu’azu, Head, Corporate Communications, in Abuja.<br />

It directed all branches of the bank to commence issuance of the currency in their respective locations.<br />

“The commemorative note will circulate alongside the existing N100 note.<br />

“The note, which is embedded with features to assist the visually 
impaired recognise genuine notes, also has other security features

It recalled that the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, at the 
unveiling of the new banknote, explained that it was designed with 
enhanced security to offer robust resistance against counterfeiting.<br />

Furthermore, it added that the authentication features of the note 
included window micro-optics, showing the national flag and numeral 100 
indicating the value of the denomination and the attainment of the 
centenary period.<br />

“The new design retains the portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo both in
 the ink that is the inter-glow level, as a portrait and also in a paper
 as a shadow image.<br />

“In addition, there is a spark feature of a rolling manila bar, which
 was the instrument of transaction during the slave trade era.<br />

“At the back side of the currency is the introduced Quick Response 
Code (QRC), a digital communication feature that highlighted and sourced
 all the information about the centenary,” it added.<br />

According to the statement, the QRC application, the bar code on the 
banknote, can be scanned by users to read a brief history of Nigeria.<br />

It recalled that the apex bank, in 2010, issued commemorative N50 
polymer note to mark Nigeria’s 50th Independence Anniversary 
celebration.</div>
