The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Department of State
Services (DSS ) of acting out the script of the Presidency to postpone
the forthcoming elections and help the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
and its candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, to avert defeat in the
polls.<br />
<br />
The party’s National Publicity Secretary Alhaji Lai Mohammed who said
this at a press briefing in Lagos on SUnday, noted that the gestapo-like
 raids of their Data Centre last year showed that the DSS is working for
 the ruling party.<br />
<br />
He said, “Having taken our time to study the ‘findings’, we believe it
is necessary for us to respond to the allegations in a more detailed
manner that will show that we were even charitable to have described the
 report as hogwash.<br />
<br />
“That DSS report is bunkum, garbage, and is not worth the paper on which it is written.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a>We will demonstrate that to you shortly. “We will
like to tell all Nigerians that the crap called ‘findings’ is part of
the ongoing efforts by the Jonathan Administration to postpone next
month’s general elections.<br />
<br />
Having seen the handwriting on the wall vis-a-vis the growing rejection
of the PDP by Nigerians, the Jonathan administration has gone into a
panic mode, while embarking on a plan to postpone the elections.<br />
<br />
“Apparently, the thinking at the DSS, which is working in cahoots with
the PDP, is that its report that the APC plans to hack into the voters’
registration Data Base of the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) will raise doubts about the integrity of the voter’s register to
be used for the forthcoming polls, and subsequently force a postponement
 of the elections since the existing register cannot be used for the
polls.<br />
<br />
“Unfortunately for DSS and the PDP, this thinking was based on a wrong premise, as we will show shortly, and it has backfired.<br />
<br />
“Before you say our claim is outlandish, remember that some prominent
Nigerians have publicly called for the postponement of the election –
which can only benefit the Jonathan Administration and delay its
impending Waterloo at the polls.<br />
<br />
“Place the calls side by side with the apparently doctored outcome of
the DSS investigations and the timing of the report’s release, and you
will understand where they are coming from.”<br />
<br />
The APC scribe maintained that the DSS ‘findings’ cannot stand a serious
 scrutiny by independent investigators because the department, “worked
backwards, from answer to question, in an effort to reach a
pre-determined conclusion.”</div>

<b><span style="font-size: medium;">"Why I endorse Buhari/Osinbajo ticket" by Pastor Sunday Adelaja</span></b><br />
<br />
Dear friends, this article is going to be divided into six parts for easier reading and digestion.<br />
<br />
Part 1: - The Professor Yemi Osinbajo I know<br />
Part 2: - Reasons for my endorsement.<br />
Part 3: - Is General Buhari an Islamic fundamentalist?<br />
Part 4: - Why I believe President Jonathan is far more a fundamentalist than Gen. Buhari<br />
Part 5: - "Pastor Sunday how dare you support a Muslim candidate"?<br />
Part 6: - Reasons why I cannot Support the Jonathan/Sambo ticket.<br />
<br />
Today we are starting with part 1: The Professor Yemi Osinbajo that I know.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Introduction:</b><br />
To paraphrase the great quotation ‘Plato is my friend — Aristotle is my
friend — but my greatest friend is the truth’ by Isaac newton. In my
words, I will say ‘Jonathan is my president, Goodluck is a Christian,
but Nigeria is my greatest love’.<br />
<br />
I would like to appeal to everyone that will see this article not to be
in a hurry to ‘stone’ me, especially before you finish reading it.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a>This is because I have seen a lot of emotions,
sentiments and prejudices from the comments that were written under the
article I had earlier posted on my Facebook page. As a matter of fact, I
 was not planning to make my position a public knowledge, but seeing the
 reactions and the emotions that any form of support for Buhari/Osinbajo
 generates among Christians, I decided to make my position known at
least to those who see me as a leader in the body of Christ. Mainly
because of the above mentioned quotation that to me the destiny and
future of Nigeria is paramount to any sentiment.<br />
<br />
I therefore believe that I owe it to my friends, colleges and posterity
to explain why I believe the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket is the life line to
the Nigerian nation right now. Of course you all have the right to your
opinions and you have the right to agree or disagree, but I think it
would be fair for you to hear my point of view.<br />
<br />
From the comments on my Facebook, I can envisage disappointment and
disillusionment in a lot of my followers as a result of my position, I
might actually be losing some friends and fans as a result but let’s not
 forget the words of Isaac newton ‘Plato is my friend— Aristotle is my
friend — but my greatest friend is the truth’ . Therefore I say
‘Jonathan is my president, Goodluck is a Christian, but Nigeria is my
greatest love’.<br />
<br />
I have never done this before, to voice my position on the political
issues of Nigeria publicly, especially through social media, newspaper
or internet but the future of Nigeria compels me.<br />
<br />
<b>Ecclesiastics 10:16-17 </b><br />
16 Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child,<br />
And your princes feast in the morning!<br />
17 Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles,<br />
And your princes feast at the proper time —<br />
For strength and not for drunkenness!<br />
<br />
Part 1: - The Professor Yemi Osinbajo that I know<br />
Until Gen. Buhari picked Professor Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate, I
was not certain about my decision. In my opinion the choice of Professor
 Osinbajo wasn’t just a choice made by man, I believe it was God who
handpicked him as Buhari’s running mate.<br />
Why do I think so?<br />
<br />
I know the man!<br />
<br />
I would dare to say that I personally do not know any other Christian
leader in Nigeria with the kind of impeccable reputation, character and
integrity as that of Professor Osinbajo. Friends, THE MAN IS REAL! <br />
<br />
Everyone talks about the integrity and the purity of Pastor Adeboye and
rightly so, I dare to say that Professor Osinbajo is a son and a carbon
copy of Pastor Adeboye when it comes to integrity and character. Anybody
 who has met him will affirm the same.<br />
<br />
There is no other person like Professor Osinbajo! Anyone that knows him
very well will tell you the same thing. He is in a class of his own. I
can confidently vouch for him and say to my fellow Nigerians that with
the emergence of Professor Osinbajo, we can say at last that Nigeria as a
 nation has started releasing her best sons to the seat of government.<br />
<br />
<b>Ecclesiastics 10:16-17 </b><br />
16 Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child,<br />
And your princes feast in the morning!<br />
17 Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles,<br />
And your princes feast at the proper time—<br />
For strength and not for drunkenness!<br />
<br />
In the ticket of Gen. Buhari and Professor Osinbajo, I see sons of
nobles becoming the kings of Nigeria. I see in these people, princes
that would feast at the proper time- for strength and not for
drunkenness.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately what has been happening in Nigeria in the last six years
can only be compared to a situation where the kings of our land has been
 like children, who feast in the morning. The predictable outcome of
such a predicament is a tale of woes.<br />
<br />
As a result, Nigeria has not been able to set herself free from all
sorts of calamities, adversaries, woes and troubles, because our rulers
have been as children and our princes (government officials) are those
who like to feast in the morning. No purposeful person goes to feast in
the morning, the morning is a time of labor, hard work and diligence.
But from the stories we have been hearing of how our natural resources
and billions of dollars are been depleted, we could see that our princes
 are on a ‘shopping and spending spree’. However, we need sons of
nobles, those who will know how to delay their gratification, restrain
their appetite and those who will go to work hard on behalf of the
nation.<br />
<br />
The Osinbajo and Buhari that I know are men of Nobles that know how to
delay gratification, men who don’t expect something for nothing, men of
diligent labor.<br />
Professor Osinbajo is one of the youngest and most brilliant Professor
of Law Nigeria has ever produced. He understands law, academics and
economics. He is perfectly prepared to manage the nation. His eight
years in the executive arm of the Lagos state government attests to
this. He brought more reforms to the government than any attorney
general has ever done. His reputation was so outstanding, pure and
incorruptible that it gained a legendary status among those who know
him. Friends, believe me, if he could do that in Lagos state, he can do
that for Nigeria. <br />
<br />
Professor Osinbajo is not just an intellectual per excellence, but he is
 a genuine child of God, a Pastor who cannot be a stooge to anyone.</div>

The rate at which the APC Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari is
enjoying goodwill across the country these days is really interesting.
The Enyi of Aba, one of the most popular industrial town in Nigeria that
 has been abandoned by successive government, has just decorated Buhari
with the title of Ogbuago 1 (Lion Killer 1) of Igbo land.<br />

In fact, some folks say nothing will stop them from voting Buhari. More photos:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Twenty two aggrieved governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State, otherwise known as G22, have finally
defected from PDP to All Progressives Congress, APC.</div>
<br />
It was learnt that the 22 governorship aspirants of the PDP in the
controversial December 8, 2014 primary in the state decided to defect
from PDP to the APC on Wednesday.<br />
<br />
Consequently, they will meet the APC’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu
 Buhari, on Monday, January 12, 2015, to finalize their integration into
 the party.<br />
<div>
</div>
One of the aspirants, who spoke to Punch on condition of anonymity, said
 their decision was based on the shabby way they were treated by the PDP
 leadership in Akwa Ibom and the Presidency.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“This inhuman treatment is only meted out to G22. How could the
President, who had met with individuals like Senator (Musiliu) Obanikoro
 and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume not meet 22 aspirants of the party? <span style="color: #cc0000;">Is the President saying that they do not count</span>? Then let us see how the party will win in Akwa Ibom State.”</blockquote>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
Funny enough, this is the same thing PDP chairman, Adamu Mu'Azu was
complaining about when he said there was too much "using and dumping" in
 PDP, especially by the governors and the presidency.<br />
<br />
The aspirant also said President Goodluck Jonathan could not find a
solution to the crisis. He said the crisis came to a head on January 6
when Jonathan, after scheduling to meet with them, later declined.<br />
<br />
He said, “The President’s last minute decision was said to have been
masterminded by a fifth columnist. It could be recalled that the
(members of) the G22 have been in Abuja since December 9, 2014. Both the
 party leadership and the President are playing games with them without
finding a political solution to the issues and without using the party’s
 mechanism to redress their complaints."</div>

<b>“Anytime Buhari contests, they dredge up false accusations of sectionalism in PTF” </b><br />
<div>
<b>– Publisher and columnist, Waziri Adio sets the records straight </b><br />
Respected publisher and ThisDay columnist, Waziri Adio on 26 December
felt compelled to speak up and clear the air on false accusations that
Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the APC was ‘sectional’ in
the widely-acclaimed impact of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF).<br />
<br />
It is yet another fact-based counter to the erroneous caricature of the
detribalised Buhari by prominent Nigerians from across the country.</div>
<div>
In a series of 35 tweets, he made it clear that “the South got 70% in terms of amount located, and the North got 30%”.<br />
<br />
The tweets are very enlightening. See them below:<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6OCTV5143qxavaAQGKisWoC9Dfj5lmHn7vvx8zrw1XOf3YA8pYSbQQOha2Rcxr9i8s0ZPQmBQfOj3X23_-Liq0X8zFKL_Djuh4dii3-rkm4fJangwfitis4gFZilHdFIvXJLbr9ZuqC9c/s1600/NIGERIA+1.jpg" width="282" /> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
 </div>
<div>
1. I will start tweeting about the Petroleum Special Trust Fund (PTF) headed @ThisIsBuhari between May '95 and May '99.<br />
<br />
2. There have been allegations that the PTF projects were lopsided in
favour of the north, aimed at portraying @ThisIsBuhari as sectional.<br />
<br />
3. There have also been allegations of fraud in PTF, meant to show that @ThisIsBuhari not as clean as portrayed.<br />
<br />
4. I will provide some background on PTF and present some facts based on
 public documents and leave you to draw your conclusions.<br />
<br />
5. PTF was set up by Gen Abacha in May '95, headed by @ThisIsBuhari, with Chief Tayo Akpata as Secretary.<br />
<br />
Other members representing different zones were Y. Gusau, A Talib,
Rufus Giwa, Prof. Chimere Ikoku, Prof. JP Clark, D.B Zang.<br />
<br />
7. PTF was charged with using portion of increase in fuel price to
rehabilitate roads, schools, hospitals, water schemes n provide supplies<br />
<br />
8. Despite charges of being a parallel govt, at no point was PTF budget more than 10% of total budget of the federation.<br />
<br />
9. Widely circulated allegation of lopsided siting of PTF projects by Afenifere a bit exaggerated.<br />
<br />
10. It is true that out of the 13,090km roads rehabilitated, 32% in the south and 68% in the north. But that's half the story.<br />
<br />
11. In terms of km, 7.3% of d rehabilitated roads were in SE; 8.5% in SW;16.25 in SS; 21.1% in NW; 23.4% in NE; and 23.5% in NC.<br />
<br />
12. But it is also true that the landmass varies among zones and same with degree of difficulty and cost.<br />
<br />
13. A look at the cost of roads in different zones and the overall
allocation to zones in all PTF projects show a different picture.<br />
<br />
14. N77. 2b was committed to roads out of the total of N187b allocated to PTF till May 99.<br />
<br />
15. Of the N77.2b to roads, SW got N 9.7 b; SE, N14.5b;  SS, N30.5b.
This means SW got 12.6% of road budget; SE, 18.8%; SS, 39.5%.<br />
<br />
16. Of d N77.2b committed to roads,  NE got N7.1b; NC, N7. 4b;  NW, N7.9b, meaning NE got 9.2%, NC got 9.6% and NW 10.3%.<br />
<br />
17. This shows that in terms of cost, the variation btw north and south reversed in favour of d south.<br />
<br />
18. Under roads, the south got 70% in terms of amount allocated and the north got 30%.<br />
<br />
19. It may sound counter intuitive, but it is also an established fact
that road construction costs more in the south than in the north.<br />
<br />
20. Those circulating facts about kilometers of roads possibly also have
 information about cost of the roads and total allocation.<br />
<br />
21. Possibly, they selectively chose the data set that will help their argument that @ThisIsBuhari is sectional.<br />
<br />
22. Also, of the total N187b allocated to PTF, the south got more than the north.<br />
<br />
23. In the 6 areas under PTF, SE got N26.9b; SW, N28.8b; SS, N49b. Representing 15% for SE, 15.4% for SW, and 26.2% for SS.<br />
<br />
24. That is a total of 56.7% for the south out of the entire budget of PTF.<br />
<br />
25. Of d total PTF allocation, NC got N20bn; NE, N26b; and NW N34. 9b.  Meaning 10.7% for NC; 13.9% for NE; and 18.7% for NW.<br />
<br />
26. That's 43.3% for the North out of the total N187b allocation to PTF.<br />
<br />
27. On allegations of fraud in PTF under @ThisIsBuhari, it is important to bear a few things in mind.<br />
<br />
28. OBJ set up two interim mgt committees on PTF, before eventually asking PTF to be wounded up.<br />
<br />
29. First committee was under Dr. Haroun Adamu. 2nd under Alh. Garba Mubi. Dr Adamu Maina - Waziri was asked to wind up PTF.<br />
<br />
30. For two years, police and SSS interogated officials of Afri-Project Consortium, project consultant to PTF.<br />
<br />
31. Up till today, no one charged or prosecuted. In fact two of d
founders of Afri-Project Consortium later served in OBJ's govt.<br />
<br />
32. Murtala Aliyu was minister of state for works, and Amina Mohammed
served as SSA on the MDGs and is now an adviser to the UN Sec-Gen.</div>
<div>
33. However, anytime @ThisIsBuhari is planning to contest some people dredge up allegations of sectionalism and fraud in PTF.<br />
<br />
34. Sometimes it is claimed that no one prosecuted so as not to
embarrass @ThisIsBuhari. But what does that say about those making d
claims?<br />
<br />
35/35. This is it for now on PTF and @ThisIsBuhari.</div>

<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a>A Rejoinder to 'Semi-Illiterate' PDP Secretary Prof. Wale
Oladipo by Dr. M.K. Hassan<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I was shocked to read a press statement from Wadata Plaza
issued by a so called Professor Wale Oladipo, secretary of the PDP, saying that
General Muhammadu Buhari is a semi illiterate jackboot. It is no wonder that
our education system has fallen so low, else how can one explain a professor
making such a statement? How did Wale Oladipo become a professor to start with?
It is quite astonishing that he can say this. The professor doesn’t seem to
understand the basic rudiments of learning and what it means for one to be
literate or not.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Buhari attended the best military <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD2">schools in</span> the world. In
case the professor doesn’t know, Buhari graduated as a military <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD1">officer</span>
(<span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD11">Lieutenant</span>) in Royal Military Academy, Aldeshot UK. He attended <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD5">the Defense</span>
College India. Col Buhari attended the US Army War College Carlisle in
Pennsylvania from 1979 -1980 and earned his command as a Brigadier General. The
respected General Collin Powel attended the same school in 1976 to become
Brigadier General. Some of Buhari’s classmates include General Beltson, General
Thomas P Carney, General Bill Matz, General David E.K. Cooper etc. all of them
are alive and can be reached and they will give glowing tributes of the man,
Buhari, they know as their classmate.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The curriculum at the U.S. Army War College earns one <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD8">a
Masters Degree</span> in Strategic Studies and that is what Buhari has.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Anyone interested in verifying Buhari’s academic credentials
can write the school instead of reading jargon from a deranged Wadata Plaza
Professor of Politics of Destruction Party (PDP). I have checked Google Scholar
hoping that Prof. Wale Oladipo’s name and publications will show up but nothing
is showing up, that says a lot about him as a Professor than Buhari as a
retired decorated General who served his country so well and has not claimed
any scholarship.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
For somebody to claim that a graduate of such a prestigious
school is semi-illiterate, means something is very wrong with that person’s
brain. By all academic and military standards, Buhari’s education is superb and
the best any general can get in the world. Therefore, for Wale Oladipo to claim
Buhari is semi-illiterate speaks volumes about his understanding of what
education is even all about. The unlearned professor thinks education is about
earning paper degrees only, and even if it was the case, Buhari has them from
the most respected military institutions in the world.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
General Muhammadu Buhari has the kind of military strategic
education and experience to deal a decisive blow on Boko Haram and end the
insecurity challenges facing Nigeria. Buhari is the only army officer with the
opportunity to command 3 out of 4 Nigeria’s army divisions as a GOC.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
In 1983, when rebels from Chad took over our land, seizing
more than 19 villages (much like what the Boko Haram is doing now), Major
General Buhari led <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD6">a successful</span> operation as the GOC to push back the Chadian
rebels and reclaim our territory.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
In 1984, when the Maitatsine sect decided to declare war on
Nigeria like what Boko Haram is doing now, Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari
wasted no time in crushing them. Boko Haram is a descendant of the Maitatsine
sect with the same extremist ideology and anti-western education philosophy. It
is surely President Buhari that will be able to handle them: eliminating these
terrorists when he comes to power like he did before. Muhammadu Buhari as a
captain fought in the Congo Civil War and won the Congo Medal. He was there
during our civil war to bring peace and keep Nigeria one. That is true patriot:
a man that gave his life to another country not only his fatherland.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Since the goons in Wadata Plaza have started the literacy
debate, it is very appropriate to ask them that they produce Dr. Goodluck
Jonathan’s Ph.D thesis and publications in renowned journals. Goodluck’s
speeches, attitude, and interviews with international media don’t portray him
as a Ph.D holder. His past interview with Christiane Amanpour was quite
embarrassing; he couldn’t even make eye contact with her. Nigerians are eager
to read his thesis and publications.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
In conclusion, it is obvious to all Nigerians that the PDP
government and its illiterate professor are only interested in playing dirty
politics with the lives and properties of Nigerians. Nigerians now need Buhari,
a man with international military education and experience, a seasoned
administrator with <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD7">zero tolerance</span> for corruption to end this insecurity, bring
prosperity, and place Nigeria at the seat it deserves in the comity of nations.</div>

<strong>Former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this

the Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, of the foundation to receive
their Christmas gifts.<br />

which had no effect.<br />

A Special Adviser to the former Governor, Mr. Femi Oyatolu, said over
 2,000 bags of rice had been distributed as of 12pm on Saturday. He
opined that the exercise was not politically-motivated. <br />

He said:<b><em>“We have distributed over 2,000 bags of rice of 12.5kg.
We have also distributed vegetable oil, T-shirts, salts and cash for the
 needy. It is not politically-motivated because we have been doing this
for the past five years. It is a Christmas outreach but we also do it
during Salah as well. It is just a way of giving back to society and
putting smiles on people’s faces. It is not stomach infrastructure
because it cuts across all political divides. It is not restricted to
any group. </em></b><br />

<b><em>Apart from giving out gift items, we also do free medicals for people and also pay school fees of indigent students.”</em></b><br /><br />
It will be recalled that Tinubu recently revealed the reason why he
withdrew his candidacy for the position of running mate with Buhari for
the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).</div>

Vice-Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Yemi
 Osinbajo, has described the President Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal
Government as “inadequate and visionless.”<br />
<br />
The respected legal luminary said it was unfortunate that in spite of
the fact that Nigerians had given “so much” to the present
administration, they have got nothing in return for their sacrifices.<br />
<br />
Reaching out to Nigerians through his Twitter page, Osinbajo stated that
 General Muhammadu Buhari, is a “strong character” that brings to the
table a ray of hope for millions of Nigerians.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
According to the Ogun State-born serving pastor of the Redeemed
Christian Church of God, Nigerians should, as a matter of urgency, join
the “common sense revolution” that would alter the <i>status quo</i> come February 2015.</blockquote>

“My fellow citizens, thank you all for your support. I am honoured to

inspiration that change is possible and hope is not lost. Join the
common sense revolution that GMB leads for a new Nigeria!<br />

“To serve is an urgent task. One all must answer! Are you ready?” he asked in a series of messages.</div>

Jobs and security. These are the two pillars on which the All
Progressives Congress will build its campaign, according to Prof. Yemi
Osinbajo, presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate.<br />
<br />
According to him, 80 per cent of youths have no jobs. Besides, Nigeria
is fighting an insurgency that has taken thousands of lives.<br />
<br />
He said: “We will focus on job creation and security. The most important
 thing today is how to create employment for the vast majority of people
 who do not have employment opportunities. Apart from that, security;
but creating jobs is primary for me.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
“About 80 per cent of graduates that come out of school today do not
have work. None graduates are even worse off. As far as I am concerned,
the most important challenge any government has today is to ensure there
 are enough jobs for those who do not have work to do.<br />
<br />
“There is no question about my party winning next year’s election.
Definitely, we will beat the ruling PDP. I think the people of Nigeria
have come to a point where they realise that after 15 years of the PDP,
things have got much worse than in 1999.<br />
<br />
“Except the people just love suffering for the sake of suffering, there
is nowhere else in the world where the PDP will be allowed to stay for
one more day. I trust that most Nigerians will vote out this PDP
government come February 2015 – by the grace of God. The hope is for
change and that is the APC.”<br />
<br />
Osinbajo, who is the head Pastor, Redeemed Christian Church of God,
Olive Tree Parish, Banana Island, Lagos, spoke to The Nation after the
church’s carol service on Sunday.<br />
<br />
Reflecting on why he opted for politics, Osinbajo, a former university
teacher and foremost lawyer, said it was because of his desire to effect
 positive change in the lives of the people.<br />
<br />
He said policies that will affect the lives of the people can only be
implemented if people with integrity occupy top positions in government.</div>

<br />
                Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has been appointed as Director
 General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign
Organization.<br />

Amaechi’s appointment, according to a statement issued by the APC
National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, will drive the party’s
efforts to win the 2015 presidential election.<br />

The statement said the announcement followed the hugely successful
convention which produced the party’s presidential candidate, Gen.
Muhammadu Buhari, and the subsequent selection of his running mate,
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.<br />

<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a>         According to the statement, “Amaechi’s outstanding reputation as a
man of courage, principle, strength of character, decency and love of
country, as well as his administrative prowess and organizational skills
 combined to fetch him perhaps the most important task in the quest for
positive change in Nigeria.”<br /><br />
The party thanked Nigerians for their support and prayers toward the
success of the convention, the emergence of Gen. Buhari as the APC
presidential candidate and the choice of Prof. Osinbajo as his running
mate.<br />

.<br />
”With a presidential candidate that has rekindled the hopes of the
citizenry and revived their belief in democratic ideals, we believe we
must also choose a running mate that will complement the sterling
qualities of the presidential candidate. We must confess that the choice
 was a tough one, considering the array of eminently-qualified and
outstanding candidates that we had to choose from.<br /><br />
”Yes, we were spoilt for choice but, in the end, we picked as running
 mate a man whose pedigree, nationally, sub-regionally, regionally and
globally, attests to the fact that our party, the APC, is a repository
of high quality leadership materials, and that our country, Nigeria, has
 no shortage of the very best human resources.<br /><br />
“Whether in the academic, legal or ecclesial world, Prof. Osinbajo
stands much taller than his physical frame, and serves as a good
accompaniment to our presidential candidate, himself a man of such rare
sterling qualities that have stood the test of time, qualities that are
now so sorely lacking in our country’s leadership,” the party said.</div>

2015 Presidency: The Man who will be Running Mate to Buhari

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
 </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Naturally, one would think the best man to work with Muhammadu Buhari is
 Adams Oshiomhole but in the game of politics, it is never as simple as
you think. There are a lot of factors to consider. South-South man was
the Vice President and later became President. APC is not widespread in
South-East.<br />
<div>
</div>
<div>
Hence, from what <b><a href="http://ogbongegist.com/">Ogbongegist.Com</a></b> has gathered thus far, it appears the position will go the South-West that has the highest support base for the APC.<br />
<br />
After the emergence of General Buhari as the presidential candidate of
the APC, the party’s next hurdle is the selection of his running
mate. According to INEC regulations, the deadline for the submission of
the names of vice presidential running mates is up.<br />
<br />
Is the emergence of a Muslim front-runner a missed opportunity?<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
Analysts say with religion and ethnicity becoming major issues in the
last few years, the APC would have to play its card carefully if it is
serious about winning the election.<br />
<br />
Even in Lagos, that was once thought to be the country’s capital of
liberal politics, APC was forced to field a Christian candidate this
time in response to the present realities.<br />
<br />
LEADERSHIP checks revealed that the only way to defeat the ruling party
is for the APC to win the north as a block and also win the south west
as a block. The party must substantially block President Jonathan out of
 the north and south west. This is because Jonathan is most likely to
get block votes from the south east, and in spite of the incursion of
the APC into the south-south, when it comes to the presidential election
 in 2015, he is likely to sweep the region.<br />
<br />
APC’s greatest challenge will, therefore, be finding the right mix of ticket that will achieve this.<br />
<br />
Out of an estimated 70 million registered voters on the roll of the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the north (as a block)
 and the south west have a combined figure of 51 million registered
voters.<br />
<br />
Analysts argued, however, that to deliver the two zones as a block and
shift the battleground elsewhere, the APC candidate and his running mate
 must get votes from the different religious and ethnic groups that make
 up the two zones. This appears to be the only way to erode the
potential advantage of the incumbent president.<br />
<br />
One analyst said, “People should be talking about security, jobs,
corruption and education, but that’s not happening because the politics
of the last few years has forced these issues to take a back seat.<br />
<br />
“The only way to get the candidates, especially the incumbent candidate,
 to run on his record, is for the APC to present a pair of candidates
who will challenge the PDP on its deadly grounds of religion and
politics.”<br />
<br />
Sources at the party’s screening last two weeks revealed that apart from
 getting the aspirants to sign an undertaking to be of good conduct, the
 APC also ruled out the chance of a same-faith ticket.<br />
<br />
Party sources mentioned four main potential running mates: </div>
<div>
Imo State governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha; Lagos State governor
Babatunde Fashola; Edo State governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Osun
State governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Ex-Lagos attorney-general and
commissioner for Justice Professor Yemi Osinbajo has also been
mentioned.<br />
<br />
The APC may announce its running mate anytime because, as one insider put it, "time is running out."<br />
<br />
Our checks revealed that before the convention, the party’s top
hierarchy was already playing “a pairing game” against the ruling
party's candidate, President Jonathan. Jonathan has already announced
Vice President Namadi Sambo as his running mate.<br />
<br />
“The APC,” our source said, “appears to be facing a Siamese dilemma. In
the light of what religion and ethnicity have done to our politics in
the last few years, especially with the advent of Boko Haram, the choice
 of the party’s presidential candidate is joined at the hip with that of
 the running mate, right from the start.”<br />
<br />
Which running mate gives the APC candidate the best chance to combine
the healing the country needs with an element of surprise that could
catch the ruling party on the back foot?<br />
<br />
<b>Pairing Buhari:</b><br />
Who would potentially be Buhari’s running mate to help balance the
ticket? An insider said that except APC is determined to lose, a
same-faith ticket is dead on arrival.<br />
<br />
That may explain why its screening committee rejected it outright. That
rules out Fashola and Aregbesola, regardless of their electoral value,
since both are Muslims.<br />
<br />
As for Amaechi and Oshiomhole, our checks revealed that it is unlikely
that the south-south would dump its current number one spot and vote for
 a Buhari-Amaechi or Buhari-Oshiomhole ticket that only offers them
second fiddle, which they are not even sure of getting.<br />
<br />
In any case, a ticket that excludes the south west is likely to pave the
 way for Jonathan to split the region with the APC considering that
Jonathan’s men currently control Ondo and Ekiti states. Jonathan got 25
per cent of the votes in the south west in 2011, although sources said
this was made possible because of the last minute deal with Tinubu. In a
 post-Boko Haram era, sources said the party would face an uphill task
with the Christian north, which has between 10 to 40 per cent Christian
population, depending on the state, and especially in the North central.<br />
<br />
And Okorocha? His performance at yesterday’s primary makes him a potentially “pairable” candidate.<br />
<br />
Because of his extensive network, Okorocha would not only help reinforce
 Buhari’s hold in parts of the north, he may also get him Christians and
 south east votes.<br />
<br />
But the South-East appears to be so firmly in Jonathan’s grip, it is
doubtful how much of the zone’s seven million block votes can swing
victory for the APC.<br />
<br />
To make matters worse, a Buhari-Okorocha ticket leaves the south west vulnerable to a Jonathan raid.<br />
<br />
This puts Prof Osinbajo, described by party insiders as “a good man,” in
 good stead. Our checks even hinted that his link to the Awolowo dynasty
 is a bonus to be harvested.<br />
<br />
Osinbajo was said to have laid the foundation for the radical changes in
 the Lagos Judiciary, later copied by many other states and the Federal
Government.<br />
<br />
Osinbajo, sources said, is a man of strong integrity and pastor with the
 Redeemed Christian Church of God. A professor of law and senior partner
 in Simmons Coopers, he has written two major books.<br />
<br />
A trusted, dependable hand and a pillar of the Tinubu think tank,
Osinbajo could be in pole position to emerge as Buhari’s running mate.</div>

 It seems integrity is winning at the APC presidential convention in
Lagos. So far, General Buhari is costing home to victory, and very
comfortably at that. Surprisingly, as at the time of post <b><a href="http://ogbongegist.com/">/Ogbongegist.Com</a></b> observed that Governor Kwankwaso is a distant 2nd while Atiku Abubakar is 3rd.<br />
