Eminent lawyer has condemned the drama staged by a former Minister of
Niger Delta, Godsday Orubebe at the collation centre of the presidential
 election in Abuja to disrupt the proceeding.<br />
<br />
Reacting to this ugly action, Lagos based lawyer, Festus Keyamo
condemned the show of shame saying Orubebe’s action is capable of
plunging Nigeria into a civil war if not checked.<br />
<br />
"Orubebe’s action is very disgraceful. Secondly, it threatens the unity
of this country. It was this same attitude that led to the civil war in
Cote di’voire when Gbagbo’s agent entered the collation centre and tore
the results that were to be announced."<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
Keyamo who likened Orubebe's action to what happened in Cote d’ivoire
when agents of a former president Laurent Gbagbo tore the election
result, said he deserved to the disciplined.<br />
<br />
“That was what led Cote divoire to civil war that killed more than
30,000 people in that country. Orubebe should understand that his action
 is capable of threatening the unity and peace of this country. It is an
 action that we totally condemn,” Keyamo added.</div>

The Peoples Democratic Party has said it will challenge the outcome of
the March 28 presidential poll at the tribunal. INEC, through its
Chairman and Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on Wednesday,
 declared Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as the
winner of the election.<br />
<br />
The PDP through its agent at the National Collation Centre in Abuja on
Wednesday, when the final result was declared, had refused to sign the
result sheet despite its candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, having
earlier conceded defeat.<br />
<br />
‎The agent of the PDP, Bello Fadile, who was in attendance when parties
were being called upon to sign the result sheet, told journalists
shortly after the result was declared that the party was not satisfied
with the outcome of the election and had decided to challenge it in
court.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
“Whether I sign it (the result sheet) or I don’t sign it, does not make
 any difference. It doesn’t invalidate the result‎. When we go to court,
 then we can challenge the result,” Fadile said.<br />
<br />
When asked to confirm if the PDP will challenge the result at the
presidential election petitions tribunal, Fadile added, “Sure! The party
 petitioned. Don’t forget. So the party will follow through the
petition. There are rules for this. The law is there.<br />
<br />
“The result was declared on the 1st of April, I think. We will follow
the due process. Like the president (Jonathan) said, ‘If you have any
grievances, follow due process and the due process in this instance is
to go to the tribunal.”</div>

<b><a href="http://ogbongegist.com/">Ogbongegist.Com</a></b> love President
Goodluck Jonathan, we did our best to convince some of those around him
to campaign for him properly and stop wasting their time making
Muhammadu Buhari popular but they refused to listen. Today the result is
 out - Jonathan is going home to be on his own!<br />
<br />
The outcome of the 2015 elections has thrown President Goodluck Jonathan
 up as a true hero of democracy. Wherever he goes, history will
vindicate him as a man who genuinely served and left the stage when it
became expedient under democratic circumstances.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
For many, there was no how the polls would have been conducted without
any crisis resulting from it. The fact that he could concede defeat was
an act thought alien to the Nigerian politician.<br />
<br />
By calling the president-elect, he enters into the pantheon of
nationalists and many will accept and appreciate his good nature. There
has been so much tension and apprehensions now with that singular act;
he has through exemplary conduct doused tension and showed that the
panic and hate speech that characterises the 2015 electioneering by
Nigerians are needless.<br />
<br />
President Jonathan has shown how well he is committed to allowing free
and fair elections in the country. In the past, he displayed statemanly
disposition when his party lost in Anambra, Ondo and Osun State.
Although his party won in Ekiti, it cannot be linked to rigging.<br />
<br />
Jonathan has restored hope in one Nigeria and obviates the feeling of
insecurity and apprehension over possible outburst of crisis in the
nation as the 2015 election erased the ignoble do or die agenda of most
dye-in-the-wool poll.<br />
<br />
While his party loyalists created a feeling of insecurity in the country
 with a view to exploiting such to achieve their “inordinate ambition”,
Jonathan rose above the fray by insisting that his continued stay in
power was not worth anybody’s life.<br />
<br />
It is to his eternal credit that bloodshed has been averted. His
stedfastness on ensuring that people’s votes count in the spirit of one
man, one woman, one youth, one vote without unleashing the apparatus of
state security on opponents makes him an undisputable hero of Nigeria’s
transitional democracy.<br />

President Olusegun Obasanjo has congratulated the Presidential-Elect,
General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the poll, charging him to
fight corruption and carry out reforms in different sectors.<br />
<br />
The congratulatory message was issues on Tuesday following Buhari's
victory in the March 28 election. He said so much harm had already been
done to many national institutions, including the military.<br />
<br />
He said, “With so much harm already done to many national institutions
including the military, which proudly nurtured you and me, you will have
 a lot to do on institution reform – education, healthcare, economy,
security, infrastructure, power, youth employment, agri-business, oil
and gas, external affairs, cohesiveness of our nation and ridding our
land of corruption.<br />
<br />
“Your varied and wide experience will undoubtedly stand you in good stead.”<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
The former president said the country “is blessed with men and women of
goodwill, character and virtue across the board that you can mobilise to
 join hands with you in the reform, repairs and re-direction that will
be imperative to put Nigeria back on the fast lane of good governance,
unity, cohesiveness, development and progress.”<br />
<br />
Obasanjo noted that Buhari’s victory, after three previous unsuccessful
attempts, must be a great lesson to himself and for all politicians,
particularly in Nigeria.<br />
<br />
He said, “For me, the totality of 2015 elections hold many lessons for
our democracy and democratisation process, which are both maturing.<br />
<br />
“On this occasion, the system has been unnecessarily overheated before
and particularly during the campaigns when emphasis was more on
trivialities and hate, divisive, undignifying and disrespectful
statements and comments rather than on pressing issues requiring
attention.<br />
<br />
“I know that in victory, you will be magnanimous to start binding the
wounds and bitterness occasioned by the campaign and the evil disciples.</div>

<br />
<br />
<b>Fellow Nigerians, </b><br />
I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections.<br />
<br />
I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I
have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the
democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.<br />
<br />
Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results
announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I
urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our
constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.<br />
<br />
As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any
Nigerian. The unity, stability and progress of our dear country is more
important than anything else.<br />
<br />
I congratulate all Nigerians for successfully going through the process
of the March 28th General Elections with the commendable enthusiasm and
commitment that was demonstrated nationwide.<br />
<br />
I also commend the Security Services for their role in ensuring that the elections were mostly peaceful and violence-free.<br />
<br />
To my colleagues in the PDP, I thank you for your support. Today, the
PDP should be celebrating rather than mourning. We have established a
legacy of democratic freedom, transparency, economic growth and free and
 fair elections.<br />
<br />
For the past 16 years, we have steered the country away from ethnic and
regional politics. We created a Pan-Nigerian political party and brought
 home to our people the realities of economic development and social
transformation. <br />
<br />
Through patriotism and diligence, we have built the biggest and most
patriotic party in Nigerian history. We must stand together as a party
and look to the future with renewed optimism. <br />
<br />
I thank all Nigerians once again for the great opportunity I was given
to lead this country and assure you that I will continue to do my best
at the helm of national affairs until the end of my tenure.<br />
<br />
I have conveyed my personal best wishes to General Muhammadu Buhari.<br />
<br />
May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.<br />

I thank you all. <br />

Few would have believed that the taciturn, austere General Buhari had a
soft, smiling and sweet woman at home. She was finally unveiled to
Nigerians as the campaign unfolded, and to some extent, also took got
her own campaign bruises.<br />
<br />
<div>
While her husband suffered the pains and knocks from the hard hitting
PDP campaign, Mrs. Buhari’s pains were not just that her man was under
attack, but she at one time during the campaign came under physical
attack of hoodlums in Ilorin, Kwara State.<br />
<br />
What manner of style Mrs. Buhari would bring to her time in Aso Rock?</div>
<div>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a></div>
<div>
That would undoubtedly be dictated by her husband. Given that the
general finally unbuckled to expose his wife to the rudiments of the
campaign, it would not be a surprise if he allows her to perform the
perfunctory duties of the wife of the president.<br />
<br />
However, suggestions to the flamboyance that has lately been the culture of recent presidential spouses would not be expected.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
Mrs. Buhari is, however, no stranger to high society, having been born
into the family of Nigeria’s first minister of defence, Alhaji Muhammadu
 Buhari, after whom the road to Nigeria’s second State House in Lagos is
 named.<br />
<br />
The 44 year old was born on 17th February 1971 and married Buhari on 2nd
 December 1989 following the general’s divorce from his first wife,
Safinatu who herself passed on in the 1990s.<br />
<br />
A graduate of Public Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University,
Zaria, Mrs. Buhari subsequently trained in beauty therapy and is an
alumnus of the Carlton Institute of London and the Academy Esthetique
Beauty, Institute of France, Dubai.<br />
<br />
A professional make-up artist, besides being an entrepreneur, she had in
 the past also helped to advocate women empowerment through capacity
building.<br />
<br />
An indication that Mrs. Buhari would be a hard political fighter came
after her husband was attacked by Boko Haram when she called for the
resignation of President Goodluck Jonathan from office.<br />

Popular Enugu-based Catholic priest, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka had
predicted victory for the candidate of the APC in the presidential
election, General Muhammadu Buhari.<br />
<br />
In his New Year message he said Goodluck Jonathan would be defeated by Buhari.<br />
<br />
In the words of Father Mbaka:<br />
“President Jonathan has failed to stem the tide of insecurity and
corruption in the country. In the year 2014, we had a lot of bloodshed
in this country. People were dying like rats without anybody asking
about them. This country suffered a lot of blood experience. Many of us
witnessed that people were in tears. Just like the ancient world, the
year 2014, the 4 in it had the queen in it, which had to do with death.
Our leader’s failed us with reckless abandon and nobody asked them
question.<br />
<br />
“We need change. Whatever it will be, let it be. This is my golden message to my beloved country.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
"Ogini n’eme? (what actually is happening?). The multitude of our
youths, the quality young men, quality young women, brilliants youths
but nobody has plans for any of you. Our so-called leaders should come
and apologize. In 2015, it shall not continue like that (everybody
shouted AMEN).<br />
<br />
“<span style="color: #cc0000;">By the grace of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are announcing, spiritually, Change</span>!
 2015 should not be a year of any hooligan manoeuvring to hijack power.
This is our New Year message. Listen, when you go home, tell anybody you
 see that from the oracle of the Holy Spirit, we are announcing change
(AMEN). Can somebody help me to shout Change (shouts of Change by the
congregation rented the air) in Jesus holy name... I seal this year with
 the blood of Jesus.”<br />
<br />
After this message, a lot of Nigerians reacted because the Priest has earlier prayed for Jonathan's wife.<br />
<br />
At the end of it all, that Chnage has come. But will it deliver for Nigerians? Our hopes are high!</div>
