[BOMBSHELL]: Independence Day: Why There Are No Reasons To Celebrate - Tinubu

<strong>Ex Lagos State governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu explains why he does
 not feel optimistic about celebrating Nigeria’s 54th Independence in an
 elaborate fashion.</strong></div>

Nigerians suffer from poor leadership, while the nation is yet to 
fulfill its potential, P.M. News reports with reference to Tinubu’s 
statement released today, September 29.<br />

The All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader started his address with the following words:<br />

<b><em> </em></b><br />
<b><em>“We commemorate this Independence Day because the nation has 
survived despite its many challenges. We dare not celebrate because the 
nation has not flourished as it should. 54 years our national trek began
 with hope and promise, peace and unity.</em></b><br />

<b><em>Today, the nation staggers beneath the weight of trouble stacked 
upon problem multiplied by hardship. Peace and unity seem to have 
yielded the moment to violence and discord. We exist as a political unit
 on a map but we do not prosper as brothers and sisters in one nation, 
under one flag and pursuant to one accord.” </em></b><br /><br />
Insisting that he is proud to be a Nigerian, Tinubu noted however 
that “genuine patriotism should not induce blindness”and urged Nigerians
 to focus on the problems that remain unresolved.<br />

Speaking about the upcoming celebrations of the October 1 Independence Day, the former governor said:<br />

<b><em> </em></b><br />
<b><em>“This is not a time for fake cheers and elation at the present 
state of things just because the calendar has touch this day. We need to
 use this hour soberly by taking stock of the obstacles mounting before 
us and of the hard direction in which we seem to be heading. I fear this
 direction, if further taken, will lead us not home but to an 
appointment with failure and national destitution.   ”</em></b><br /><br />
He also expressed his opinion on the dynamics of changes in the 
country and criticized the acting administration over hindering the 
country progress because of the adopted direction.<br />

<b><em> </em></b><br />
<b><em>“Nigeria currently is saddled with the reprobate leadership Awo, 
Zik, Sardauna and Tafawa Belewa feared. We have entered unchartered 
territory not so much because we are expanding the outer bounds of 
national progress. We traverse such ground because this government leads
 us into places where angles fear to tread and where sensible man should
 not go. </em></b><br />

<b><em> </em></b><br />
<b><em>“Never has an elected government in Nigeria employed religion as a
 tool to divide the people, setting Nigerian brother against brother in a
 manner that allows this administration to function at the basest level 
of governance while seeking to establish a political domination that 
seeks no greater purpose than its self perpetuation. Our nation was 
supposed to advance, year by year, toward greater democracy. Instead, we
 rush into the pit of arbitrary, imperious rule that smacks of 
despotism.”</em></b><br /><br />
Tinubu also enumerated Nigeria’s problems and challenges concluding 
that those were not reasons for celebration, but the “troubling signals”
 that should awake the nation.<br />

<b><em> </em></b><br />
<b><em>“The incessant attempts to stigmatize and physically intimidate a
 peaceful political opposition and the militarization of elections are 
features of a perverse democracy, a democracy run at gun-point and with a
 swift and eager trigger, Brazen assaults on the judiciary, the flippant
 and frequent violation of the constitution and the rule of law, and the
 elevation of corruption to making it a new and perhaps the strongest 
arm of government are the instruments that now shape our nation. These 
things are not the fare of celebration. They are the impetus for 
political reform and change.”</em></b><br /><br />
In his statement Tinubu said the 16 years of ruling by the Peoples 
Democratic Party (PDP) pulled the country back adding that “the longer 
they rule, the less benefit the people derive”.<br />

He lamented over the politics which causes division of people saying that the flourishing can be reached only through unity.<br />

<b><em> </em></b><br />
<b><em>“It is accomplished by honoring the principles of democratic good
 governance and economic justice. It is done by persuading the people 
they are better off as one instead of better off tearing at each other’s
 throats.”</em></b><br />

<b><em> </em></b><br />
<b><em> “Governance is about trust. And this government is not even 
trusted by itself. That is why it does nothing except feed itself. This 
is not the road for a better Nigeria. We must proceed from this 54th 
anniversary to embark on a common sense revolution that brings about 
progressive change for the benefit of most of our country men and women,
 our youth and the vulnerable among us.”</em></b><br /><br />
Thus, the speaker concluded with the idea that if Nigerians want to 
make a step forward, they should be ready for a change in order to 
celebrate the “Independence Day we can and should celebrate.”</div>

Oritsejafor,yesterdaybroke his silence over the $9.3m arms deal scandal 
in which his private jet was used to carry the huge sum of money out of 
Nigeria to South Africa. Speaking at the National Executive Council 
meeting of CAN at the National Christian Center in Abuja, Pastor 
Oritsejafor absolved himself of any wrong doing, saying he would never 
do anything that would tarnish the image of Jesus Christ<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6589160015449763735" name="more"></a><br />"I wish to 
assure you that I will not do anything to tarnish the image of Jesus 
Christ or compromise the divine standard of the church. As you are all 
aware, the media has been awashed in the past few days about an 
unfortunate incident involving the movement of funds from Nigeria to 
South Africa. In the unfortunate news reports, attempts have been made 
to link me directly with the transaction. So far, I have refrained from 
making any direct public response pending the time that I would have 
briefed the leaders of the church and explained my position on the 
issues to them.<br /><br />
I believe that the primary institution that I owe any
 explanation to is the church. At the risk of being seen to be defending
 myself, I wish to confirm to the distinguished leaders of the church 
that the Bombardier Challenger 601 aircraft in question is mine. The 
aircraft was presented to me as a gift by members of our congregation 
and ministry partners worldwide at my 40th anniversary of my call into 
the ministry. May I be permitted to stress that the aircraft was not 
given to me by the President of Nigeria, neither was it a settlement for
 any political favour or patronage. With the benefit of hindsight, the 
President of the country was a guest in our church during the 
anniversary celebration when the jet was presented to me. This has 
construed an implication that it was a gift from the President of the 
country. The President of Nigeria has nothing to do with the gift of the
 aircraft. By the way, I still wonder why all those saying this cannot 
come out to show proof so that the matter can be put to rest once and 
for all. Let me say that this might be an issue of the court in the near
 future "he said<br /><br />
He said he was also shocked and distressed at 
finding out what the private jet which he leased to the company managing
 it used it for, adding that there is a war being waged against the 
church in Nigeria<br /><br />
"Based on this, I leased the aircraft on August 2, 
2014, to a company to run it. It was the lease that entered into an 
agreement with the people who carried out the transfer of funds. Having 
leased the aircraft to the Green Coast Produce Company Limited, any 
transaction undertaken with the aircraft can no longer be attached to 
me. Inasmuch as I am shocked and distressed by the incident, I wish to 
appeal to Christians in Nigeria to remember that a war has been waged 
against the Nigerian church. This war is being fought on many fronts and
 this unfortunate incident is another dimension in the assault against 
the church." He said<br />He went further to state that;<br /><br />
"The media 
hype and the deliberate distortion of information that followed it 
confirmed that forces that desperately desire to cause division and 
disunity in the church are at work. Even the devil knows that a house 
that is divided cannot stand. As Christians, we need unity in the church
 now more than ever. We are witnessing inhuman attacks by religious 
extremists against Christians in the northern part of the country, while
 christian infrastructure is being destroyed in hundreds. If we permit 
the enemy divide us, our chances of corporate survival shall be severely
 threatened.<br />

Distinguished leaders of the church, please permit me to 
state clearly before God and before all of you here present today, that I
 am not a party to the movement of $9.3m from Nigeria to South Africa to

travelled to Yahya's home where she met the toddler and his family for 
the first time before bringing them to Australia. Of her first meeting

his parents also met Dr Holmes after being flown to Melbourne where the 
three-year-old underwent a range of developmental tests from CT scans to
 MRI's, to confirm how his brain functions and if he was suitable for

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Despite the serious risks involved, Dr Holmes soon agreed to operate on the toddler. </span><br />

undergo surgery in December, when Dr Holmes plans to bring the two sides
 of his skull together and build him a nose with his own skin. There is 
also a chance that the toddler will be able to speak after the procedure

foremost, I’m an actress from Kogi State and the last child from a 
family of five. As a child, I was passionate about acting and that is 
the reason I ended up studying Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan.
 I was born and bred in Lagos. I see myself as the girl next door. And 
most importantly, I’m a cool and easy going young lady.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">What quality of yours earned you your first movie job?</span><br />

really know about the quality. I was auditioned before the role was 
given to me. I can remember Chico Ejiro and Efe Damijo said I did well 
in the audition and that I look so innocent (Laughs). I didn’t know what
 that means anyway!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Which of these movies gave you the big break?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I’m still 
waiting for a big break. But I’d say it’s Finding Goodluck because it 
was my first major film and I got to play a lead role in it. It was a 
great feeling to play a lead role in my first major movie.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">How did you secure the lead role in Finding Goodluck?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I secured 
the role by given my all in the audition. I’m sure you will understand 
what it means by flying down to Calabar for audition? I flew to Calabar 
for the audition and I had no choice than to give my all in order to 
secure the role and don’t come back empty handed to Lagos. I believed it
 was just God. The Production Manager recommended me to the producer and
 I was asked to come down to Calabar where the movie was shot.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Would you say your beauty also contributed?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">(Laughs) 
Well I’d say yes in a way. The fact is that the producer was looking for
 a black beautiful lady with all the endowments, a resemblance to Mercy 
Johnson.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">What kind of endowments? Are you talking about b**bs?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Yes you are right! They were looking for an endowed s*xy actress and I fitted into the picture.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In terms of 
b**bs, lots of people compare you with Cossy Orjiakor, with some saying 
you are b*stier than her; how does that make you feel?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I don’t want
 to be compared with anybody and obviously I don’t feel right to be 
compared with Cossy. Mind you I don’t have anything against her; I’ve 
met her in several events and we relate just as colleagues would but I 
just don’t want to be compared to her in any way! Comparing me to her 
does not make me happy. I’m me and I don’t intend to be compared to 
anybody. If anybody decides to read meaning to my take on being compared
 to Cossy, so be it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But honestly, you are heavily endowed; how did you come about your b*sty b**bs? Is it hereditary?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It’s a family thing so I’d say it is hereditary.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Most men can
 hardly get their eyes off you; how do you cope considering the fact 
that lots of them would want to ‘get down’ with you?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I cope well 
with my male admirers. Men are always men. The truth is that, even if 
I’m not in the movie industry men would still flock after me because of 
my look let alone being a movie star. I cope by dealing with them in a 
very polite way so I won’t be seen as being rude. And of course some 
understand and are mature enough to respect me. It’s just the best way 
to handle them and God has been giving me the wisdom to deal with them 
because you can’t also do without them.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">What is the craziest thing a male fan or admirer has done to you?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Sometime 
last year, during the First Lady’s Advocacy For Women Empowerment at the
 Eko Hotel, a male fan/admirer suddenly held me from back- like trying 
to hug me from back-and his two hands were right on my boobs! I couldn’t
 see the face so I screamed and a security man held him off me. He 
wanted to prostrate in front of me saying he’s sorry that it was just an
 overexcitement. He said he’s my friend on facebook and watches me on 
Super Story, Finding Goodluck, and that he likes what he saw. I was 
really embarrassed and I was like ‘God, is this what I’m in for?’</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But how does it feel being well endowed?</span><br />
