Chris Oyakhilome has finally broken his silence over the divorce suit filed against him by his wife Anita in which she cited irreconcilable differences and allegation of adultery. Addressing the congregation on Sunday Sept 7 during the monthly global communion service Oyakhilome described the reports as stupid. He described the charges as frivolous and crazy. He says:
‘You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or who preaches God. A man of God is handpick by God. Set on poise by God. If you study the scriptures you will not find one man of God going against God. Sinning against God. The only thing you might find. For instance Moses when he struck the rock twice provoked by the anger of the people. Not b’cos he wanted to do something against the will of God. No man of God wants to do something against the name of the Lord. A man of God is set on poise. There’s a type of life he’s giving. Then there’s a young man who was deceived bvy another man of God. When he misses the message of God or he acts beyond the thing the word of God says.
I wasn’t accused of the things you said nor did I commit those stupid things that you said. And I don’t want to go into those levels of such discussions. Jesus Christ was accused by men …a lot of frivolous charges. There’ll always be ones who would like for it be true but in spite of the accusations against Jesus, it didn’t change who he was. There are preachers and there are men of God. I’m not a preacher I’m a man of God. And I go in the way I’m asked to go. It may cause some troubles among individuals. When it comes to Rev. Anita what I will say is that pray for her. Don’t act like hahaha. If you’re married to a man of God it doesn’t make you automatically matured. You can make mistakes.
