HOSPITAL, all because they do not have Oxygen.. a whole government 
general hospital do not have basic/common oxygen??? How then are they 
going to treat seemingly life threatening cases...</span>  <span style="font-size: x-small;">Read this unedited mail from someone who witnessed the whole sad incident...its in pidgin English though....</span>

children,nai dem contact me,say them get major issue wey pass them for 
the Hospital. Before i reach the Hospital,i don put on all my 
Transmitting machines and CCTV camera's. My dear people of Sapele from 
the hour of delivery,these children nor last reach 2Minutes,before dem 
give up. WATER ALMOST FINISH FOR MY EYES. </span>

carry pregnancy for 9months,only for her to deliver wetin our Health 
sector nor fit protect? Wetin cum be the need of the Hospital without 
basic facilities? E don tey when i dey complain say Sapele General 
Hospital nor get simple Oxygen and other facilities to meet up our 
present health challenges,but nobody dey give listening ears. When i 
reach the ward to go examine the Babies,i cum find out say,na Oxygen dem
 say,dem use sustain the kids or else dem for die earlier than the 
period wey dem stay. </span>

 pictures under,we go see say,somebody hold oxygen dey inter-change am 
for the babies to gasp in air to survive. From dis picture,unu go agree 
with me say,na lack of equipment nai kill dis children becos if the two

 all,if at all say dem go die for dis tender age.</span>

refer you for C.S,and after the d delivery dem go charge you almost 
N40K. How dat one cum take be free? </span>

separate dem dey hard in most cases becos them dey mostly dey share 
dsame Kidney,Heart,Liver and other human parts. Most especially when dem
 gum each other from the Belle side. But dem dey survive and leave well 
among us. Cojoin twins don become Minister of Health,Engineers,Doctors 
and other professioner jobs,wey contribute deir own quarter to the 
betterment of the world. </span>

National Youth Service Corps member, Helen Bando,NYSC  has been jailed for one year
for attempting to travel to India with fake documents.</span></div>

and sentenced alongside Bando were Samuel Obiakor and Segun Alimi, who aided
and abetted the first convict in committing the crime.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Justice
Oluwatoyin Ipaye, while handing down the sentence on Monday, said the convicts
deserved their punishment notwithstanding their plea bargain because such cases
were becoming rampant.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">The
judge noted that such criminal acts gave Nigeria a bad name and destroyed the

<span style="font-family: inherit;">The
convicts were arraigned on one count bordering on use of forged documents in
processing an Indian visa.</span></div>

Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission alleged
that the convicts conspired to submit forged documents to the Indian High
Commission sometime in 2013 to enable Bando obtain the country’s visa.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">The
commission’s lawyer, Paul Bassey, told a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja that
the convicts violated sections 25(1) (a), 26 (1) (a) and (c) and Section 96(1) (a)
of the ICPC Act.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Following
their arraignment last week Friday, the trio had immediately pleaded guilty to

offenders and promised that if set free, they would go and sin no more.</span></div>

subsequently entered a plea bargain with their prosecutor, the terms of which

President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has blamed his successors for the rot
 in the power sector. He said the country needed to generate 2,000 
megawatts every year for the citizens to enjoy stable electricity.<br />
<br />
Obasanjo, after his second coming as a civilian president, handed over 
to the late former President Umaru Yar’Adua in 2007 while President 
Goodluck Jonathan assumed office in May, 2010.<br />
<br />
He said subsequent administrations after his reign as military ruler 
between 1976 and 1979 did nothing on power generation until he returned 
in 1999. According to him, leaders in the country lack the political 
will to confront national challenges.<br />

He said, “Part of our problems is lack of political will on the part of 
the leaders. What does a leader understands about development? Any 
leader worth his salt should know that power is very important. It is 
the driver of all developments, be it social, economic, and even 
political. </blockquote>

“When I was military head of state, I developed the Jebba Dam, I 
developed Shiroro, I started Egbin. Shehu Shagari came and completed 
Egbin and commissioned Jebba and Shiroro. </blockquote>

“Between Shagari in 1983, until I came back in 1999, there was no single
 dime invested in power generation. If anything, the ones that were 
there were allowed to go down.”</blockquote>

The ex-President, spoke at a programme tagged ‘First Green Legacy Moment
 with Olusegun Obasanjo on Leadership and Human Security in Africa’,

Obasanjo said, “A country like Nigeria must be adding not less than 
2,000 megawatts every year if we are to be moving on the path of 
development.<br />
<br />
“If you will remember, when I came back in 1999, my first Minister of 
Power was late Bola Ige. I won’t say Bola didn’t know what he was doing 
and he said publicly that he would fix the power problems in six months.<br />
<br />
“After one year, Bola with his capacity couldn’t fathom what was wrong 
with power. It was riddled with corruption. Then we had no money. People
 have forgotten that in 1999/2000, the price of crude oil was US $9 per 
barrel. So, I wanted the oil companies, Mobil, Total and they wouldn’t 
go.<br />
<br />
“When we started having money, we started the National Integrated Power 
Plant. When we said the money we had should be invested in power, my 
successor didn’t understand; he stopped it. If for almost 20 years we 
did not achieve anything in power generation, then we may not be able to
 get it again.”<br />
<br />
Obasanjo, who cited South Africa as an example, said with its population
 of 55 million people, SA generated 45,000 megawatts, while Nigeria with
 about 180 million people could not generate 4, 000 megawatts.<br />
<br />
He said, “For us to say that we are industrialising country, we must be 
generating much more than what South Africa is generating, say 100,000 
megawatts.<br />
<br />
“What year will Nigeria get there if we are adding 2,000 megawatts each 
year? For us to get to 100,000 mega watts, I leave the mathematics to 
you. It sounds very discouraging but that is the reality.”</div>

The amazement and excitement in the on-going MTN SURPRISE campaign 
continued today, as one of MTN’s ambassadors and the Mavin Records’ 
Doctor, Dr. SID was the centre of attraction, boarding one of the free 
BRT buses that was coming from Ikorodu. The free buses were provided by 
MTN.<br />

The Surulere crooner who boarded the bus at Idiroko bus/stop, announced 
himself as the official bus conductor. The commuters were stunned. They 
could not just stop imagining themselves being in the same BRT bus with 
Dr. SID. It was an unthinkable surprise.The excitement was such that 
many of the passengers refused to alight at their bus-stops, in order to
 continue the fun with Dr. SID while enjoying the surprise packages he 
was giving out.<br />

Dr Sid created a sing along atmosphere to the delight of the passengers,
 as he treated them to some of his hits like ‘Surulere’ and ‘Over the
