As
seen in the photos, the Chinese woman stands in front of a damaged ATM,
with the ATM computer display “ripped out at the root” lying on the
ground, and large amounts of receipts scattered on the floor. With a
large number of city residents looking on at the side, there were even
some security guards at the scene maintaining order. “After
dismantling the machine, she even stood there as if nothing had
happened, but was then taken back to the police station once police
arrived,” the representative said. At the time, the woman’s manner of
speaking and bearing both seemed not quite normal, so employees did not
go forward to stop her, and only called the police as well as notify the
bank to come and deal with the situation. The loss prevention
department representative for Shilong Jinshawan Shopping Mall told this
reporter that the woman did not use any tools either while dismantling
the ATM. “We can see from the mall’s security cameras that she first
pried off the plastic frame/case off the sides of the ATM, and then
forcefully tore out the computer display.” The representative
says it may be that this ATM has been in service for too long, and that
the plastic casing surrounding it has become old and brittle, and was
therefore easy to damage. According to police from the Shilong
Public Security Sub-Bureau police station, by the time the police had
arrived on the scene, the ATM had already been damaged, while the woman
was on the scene claiming that she had repeatedly made withdrawals but
the ATM would not spit out money, “She also mumbled to herself that the
ATM was her friend’s and that it’s was okay for her to break it.” Police
reached her family in Guangxi through her mobile phone, and the party
on the other end claimed to be the woman’s younger brother. The other
party said on the phone that his sister suffers from mental problems,
and that “she’s like everyone else when she has her medication, but if
she doesn’t take it, then she’ll have an episode. When that happens, she
won’t even know what she’s doing.” Through police investigation,
the woman is surnamed Lin, is from Guangxi province Nanning city, and
is 28 years old this year. At present, The Xihu police station has
already sent her to the Dongguan Mental Hospital for examination.
Because it will take 15 days before the hospital can produce a relevant
assessment report, the woman is currently under observation and
treatment at the hospital. Police are awaiting the hospital’s detailed
report before they will continue processing the case.

UNICEF
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Chief in Nigeria, Mr. Kanaan Nadar,
disclosed this on the occasion of the 2014 global hand washing day
celebration in Abuja. Nadar called on parents to make their
children see the need to always wash their hands and maintain safe
hygiene at all times as this would reduce deaths caused by diarrhea by
almost 50 per cent. Nadar, said: “In Nigeria every year, we have
about 150,000 children that die largely due to diarrhea mostly
associated with unsafe water sanitation and hygiene.
<blockquote>
"Hand
washing can actually step down this diarrhea death to almost 50 per
cent and reduce pneumonia to almost 40 per cent. So hand washing is
really important."</blockquote>
According to him, hand washing with soap has made a major difference in the fight against Ebola Virus Disease, EVD. Nadar said it had been one of the major tools against the spread of the virus in most of the EVD affected countries.

<blockquote>
"In
the fight against the spread of the Ebola virus, hand washing with
soap, as an important tool, has made additional line of difference.</blockquote>
<blockquote>
"Choose
hand washing for this is apt given the prominence that hand washing has
gained especially in this particular time of crisis in a number of
countries. </blockquote>
<blockquote>
"Everyone
can choose to wash his or her hand with soap after using the toilet and
before eating or touching food, thereby creating healthy environment
not only for themselves but also for the family and the larger society."
</blockquote>
 In
her address, the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe, said
the hand washing programme was being celebrated because it had the
capacity to save lives and reduce disease burden in Nigeria.
<blockquote>
"Today
across Nigeria, over 250,000 pupils from 100 selected schools are
participating in the global hand washing campaign and will be
demonstrating the process of hand washing with running."</blockquote>

The
Lightskinned Actor, Clems Onyeka (RIP) Was Killed On the 14th of
October 2014, after being hit by a stray bullet during a Police Shootout
with Armed robbers In Benin/Abasa Road!
They vowed not to rest until they get to the root of the matter. Some of the aggrieved relations, including Patrick Onyeka told LeadershipNg in
Asaba that the family members resolved to take the case to a juju
priest for perspicacious judgment; saying that they do not believe in
the stray bullet story as vehemently claimed by the police. As it
were, the robbers, according to dependable sources, trailed the bullion
van from the Benin/Asaba Express way through the Summit road and
intercepted it along the DBS road before U&I Foundation, where they
engaged the police team on escort duty in a fierce gun battle, allegedly
killing the popular Nollywood actor by stray bullet. Police
public relations officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, who insisted
yesterday that the Nollywood actor was killed by a stray bullet, said
that a policeman in the police escort team was also killed during the
fierce gun battle. She disclosed that the police in the early
hours of yesterday, have arrested six suspected persons in connection
with the attack; adding that four others suspected to be armed robbers
were also killed along Ogwashi-uku/Asaba express way during a robbery
operation. While appealing to family members of the Nollywood
actor to take everything with equanimity; DSP Kalu assured members of
the public that the police would get to the root of the incident; adding
that the arrested suspects are already helping the police with further
investigation. Expectedly, it was reliably gathered that the
robbers numbering over eight arrived in Asaba with a Siena Toyota car
commando-style, causing pandemonium on the ever busy DBS Asaba road
before the police escort moved into the incident. Sources said
that the road users scampered for safety as many of them abandoned their
cars, but when the police noticed that the bullion van driver had
escaped with the van intact, the office of the U&I foundation was
riddled with bullets while the staffers scampered through the fence for
their dear lives. Speaking further, DSP Kalu confirmed that one
of the robbers was killed by the police, adding that the armed gang
escaped with the corpse of one of their colleagues killed during the
shootout while the Siena car with Reg No. AA261XX was abandoned with the
robbers snatching another car from a motorist to escape.</div>

'Why I Dumped Acting For Nursing In US' – Popular Yoruba Actor Razaq Ajao [ARA OSAN] Finally Open Up

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
 </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
RASAQ
AJAO ARAOSAN is a familiar face in most homes of Africans, Black
Americans and Asians in United States, where he has consistently
produced Nollywood movies to reflect the rich culture of Nigeria in New
York, ‘Apple City’. To his credit in United States are block buster
movies which has earn him respect, accolades and honor amongst other
Africans.  In this exclusive interview at his home in New York City, he
flung the doors of his house opened to us, as he take us through his
adventure, challenges and his new carrier in USA.

In
fact, many may not know that the actor has since 2002 relocated to the
United States of America where he works as a nurse. The thespian loves
his home in Brooklyn, New York and he opened up on his new life in
America. Enjoy it.

YOU
JUST DISAPPEARED FROM THE NIGERIAN MOVIE SCENE AND YOUR FANS ARE
WONDERING AS TO WHERE YOU ARE. WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THE UNITED STATES?

Razaq
Ajao popularly known as Ara Osan or Pefun Ele is now a nurse here in
America. I have been in the United States since 2002 when I left
Nigeria. And I thank God because I am doing great here.

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOUR ACTING CAREER, HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT?

No,
I have not forgotten about acting. I still act. You know, one thing
about America is that whatever you were doing in your country before you
came here, you have to suspend it and start all over again. So, I have
to suspend acting for sometime and go into nursing, to be able to pay my
bills and meet other necessary needs as they arise. But now, I have
some films that I have already produced to launch myself back.

TELL US ABOUT THE FILMS?

They
are two; the first is ‘Iwe Igbelu’ (Green Card), which was released two
years back. And we just released ‘Babalawo l’America’ (Herbalist in
America).

WHAT INSPIRED THE MOVIE, IWE IGBELU?

‘Iwe
Igbelu’ is inspired by the problem many of us here in the US encounter
before we are granted residentpermit. You know, it is not easy to work
in the US without a permit. But with your permit you are guaranteed a
new lease of life here.

WHO ARE THE ARTISTES THAT TOOK PART IN IWE IGBELU?

I took part in it. Also the movie stars Yinka Quadri, Toyin Adegbola popularly known as Toyin Asewo T’ore Mecca and others.

DID YOU FLY ALL THE ARTISTES YOU MENTIONED TO AMERICA TO TAKE PART IN THE FILM?

Yes.

WHICH LOCATION DID YOU USE FOR THE PRODUCTION?

We shot the film in Brooklyn, New York.

WHAT OF THE SECOND MOVIE, WHAT IS THE TITLE AND WHICH YEAR DID YOU RELEASE IT?

The
second and third movies are not yet released. Jide Kosoko directed one
while Murphy Afolabi and I directed the other. The films are not yet
titled. But the fourth one is titled ‘American Psycho’.

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO RELEASE THE THREE MOVIES?

By the grace of God, I am going to release two this year and the other one next year.

CAN YOU TELL US SOME OF THE ACTORS IN THE MOVIES?

We have artistes like Bimbo Oshin, Liz Anjorin, Murphy Afolabi, Yinka Qaudri, myself, and others.

DID YOU USE THE SAME LOCATION FOR ALL THE MOVIES?

I shot the second and third movie in New York and Maryland. But the fourth, ‘American Psycho’, was shot in Florida.

DO YOU HAVE PLANS TO RELEASE THE FILMS IN NIGERIA?

Of course, I am releasing them in Nigeria. That is my father’s land.

WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES YOU ARE FACING AS AN ACTOR AND FILMMAKER IN AMERICA?

The
problem I had was doing everything all by myself including directing,
screenplay, and so on. It is unlike what we have at home where the
production process is divided into stages.

IS YOUR FAMILY HERE WITH YOU?

My wife and children are in Nigeria. I am here with one of my children.

HOW DO YOU COPE WITHOUT YOUR FAMILY HERE, ESPECIALLY YOUR WIFE; WHO TAKES CARE OF THE HOME FRONT?

I am coping well. At least, I am here working hard to ensure they are well catered for back home.

WE ARE TOLD SOME NIGERIANS ARE INVOLVED IN ILLEGAL ACTS IN AMERICA, WHAT DO YOU THINK IS…?

(Cuts
in) I don’t know about that, but the most important thing is that you
should know who you are, and as well know where you are coming from. If
you know the background you are from, you will not want to stain it.
There is an adage that says, ‘good name is worth more than gold and
silver’. To be successful in this country is very easy when you are
patient and focused. If you are trying to work at another man’s pace,
you will run in the fast track but if you work at your own pace, you
will make it easily.

YOU
ALWAYS ACT AS BABALAWO (HERBALIST) IN MOST OF YOUR MOVIES IN NIGERIA.
CAN WE NOW SAY THAT A BABALAWO IS RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA?

That
is why I titled one of my movies that was just released ‘Babalawo
l’America’ so as to let my fans know that I am still very acquainted
with my Babalawo role in movies. The movie is enjoying a massive
patronage here and at home.

CAN YOU BRIEFLY TELL US HOW YOU STARTED ACTING?

I
started with Chief Leke Ajao, may his soul rest in peace, we have the
same surname but he was from Osun State while I am from Kwara State. I
started acting in 1979/80 when I finished from secondary school. That
was when I knew Yinka Quadri, his father was selling towels and my
father was selling sewing machine in the same area at Lagos Island.
Every Saturday and Sunday, I used to go to Yinka Quadri’s house for
rehearsals, he had a group then called Adetutu Theatre Group. That was
how we started. Bayo Olaleye who worked with NTA 7 then used to write
scripts for my boss. Our debut production that brought us into limelight
was ‘Olaniyonu’. Then, we acted on stage every week at the National
Theatre, Iganmu, because I started with stage acting.

WHEN DID YOU CROSS TO FILM?

We
crossed to films in 1985/86. My first film was ‘Odada’. After the debut
film, we did ‘Enu Orofo’ for Corporate Pictures and so many others I
cannot remember.

HOW DID YOU COME ABOUT THE NAME ARA OSAN?

I
got the name from Olaniyonu. I acted as Fadare, the son of an
herbalist, in the film and Yinka Quadri’s name was Ifagbamila. So,
anytime he says, ‘maso mo’ (don’t say it again), I will reply, ‘ara osan
o’ (thunder will strike). He acted as the villain while I was the
hero.

WHERE DID YOU LEARN ALL THE INCANTATIONS YOU CHANT IN MOVIES, IS YOUR FATHER AN HERBALIST?

My
father is an Islamic cleric. I learned the incantations from the
scripts they gave me to read. In most of the stories Bayo Olaleye wrote
for my boss, the role I usually get was that of an herbalist. I crammed
the incantations whenever I was given such roles and that’s how it
stuck.

DO
YOU HAVE AN ASSOCIATION FOR NIGERIAN THEATRE PRACTITIONERS, LIKE THE
ANTP, IN AMERICA?RASAQ AJAO ARAOSAN is a familiar face in most homes of
Africans, Black Americans and Asians in United States,

Yes, we have organized ourselves and soon we will make people know about us.

 The
Veteran Nollywood actress, Toyin Afolayan, popularly known as Lola
Idije got into acting through her late brother actor cum producer, Ade
Afolayan, Speaking with ENCOMIUMWeekly, she Revealed how God has been
her pillar all along and why she wants her fans to celebrate with her on
her 55th birthday on November 2, 2014. Excerpts.. Congratulation on your birthday? Thank you very much. How does it feel to turn 55? I
thank God for my life. I have a good cause to thank Him and hope that
He will be more gracious to enable me give more gratitude. I thank all
my fans, male and female, young and old in all parts of the world for
their prayers. I believe their prayers have kept me going all these
years. I want them to continue praying for me. What will you say you are grateful to God for? I’m
grateful to God for everything – my life, my children, and my family at
large. I cannot count my blessings and that’s why I will always praise
His holy name. Do you feel your age now? Not at all, I feel the same. What will you say is responsible for this? It
is not by power or might but by the mercy and grace of God Almighty,
the author and finisher of my faith. He has been my pillar all along. I
give him the glory. How was your growing up? It’s wonderful, I give glory to God for where He has taken me today because it is not how long but how well. Are you in any way related to the veteran actor cum producer, late Afolayan? Yes, he was my elder brother Can you tell us how your journey into movie started? I
came in through my brother, the late Ade Love, Chief Adeyemi Afolayan. I
never believed I could be an actress, but I don’t know why my brother
influenced me to become one. In short, he forced me into it. However,
I want to believe that God used my brother’s name to put me where He
wants me to be and his name will never perish. The name can’t perish
because his children, Kunle Afolayan, Moji Afolayan, Aremu Afolayan and
Gabriel Afolayan, are doing very well in the industry, so we thank God. Would it be correct to say Ade Love was your role model? Yes! What is the relationship between you and your brother’s children? We
are all fine, no problem. We love each other and I always tell them
that what their father couldn’t achieve, they will achieve and even
surpass his aspirations. It makes me happy when I see their
achievements. Of course, when I am old, I will point at them and say
these are my brother’s children. You don’t act with your nephews, can you tell us why? This
is not true because I played along with Kunle Afolayan in his film,
Irapada. I played the role of his mother. I was the one who handed over
the baby to late Toun Oni. May her soul continue to rest in the bosom of
the Lord. So it’s far from the truth that I don’t play along with them.
They are my children ,we are all building the name of Afolayan together
and the name will never collapse, Insha Allah. For how long have you been a single parent It’s been a while now. What really happened? Were you separated or what? No, my husband died. Being a single parent should actually give you the platform to ‘enjoy’ yourself? Is
there enjoyment anywhere? Let me tell you something, if a man comes to
you as an actress and tells you he loves you, it is not you that he
wants but the mere fact that you are a star. It is your stardom that he
wants to sleep with, not any other thing. And aside that, my children
are all female, so if I start dating this and that, do I know which
family my children will marry into? One has to be very careful. Did you ever think that you will be this famous when you started? Like
I said, no one knows tomorrow. I couldn’t imagine I would be this
popular but I give thanks to God. May His name be praised in Jesus name. What has been your greatest challenge? There
is nothing you lay hands on that you would not face one or two
challenges. There’s nothing God cannot do, so there is no battle God
cannot win. Which of your movies brought you into limelight and what year? They’re
uncountable, in as much that nobody can count the sand of the seashore.
I have done so many films and I give glory to God for helping me thus
far. Has any of your children shown interest in acting? None of them has done that yet. But I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, anyway. Aside acting, what other things do you do? It has been acting all along and I thank God for that. Which of your works would you say is your favourite? Every
production matters to me, I love all the jobs I have done. I can’t say
this is the one I love in particular like Lady Terror, Pappy and Mammy,
Igba Eda. Too numerous to mention, they are all very good. Any regret so far? God
forbid, no regret. And I always thank God for my children, all what He
has done for me in particular May His name be exalted. I thank Him so
much. Tell us an experience you can never forget? The
first one was when my brother died. That was the saddest day of my life
because he was my mentor, my everything. Another one was when I lost my
mother. I can never forget that day because it was very painful losing
such a dear person as my mom. In fact, if there is anything like
reincarnation, I would love to come back to my mother! Who in the industry is your closest pal? Everybody! Both old and young. What do you have for your fans across the world? First
thing I am actually going to say to all my fans out there is I love
them dearly. I am not the star, they are the stars. The reason is
because without them, I am nothing. I thank them and so grateful for
their involvement in my career, their passion for me and their zeal for
my work. I also thank them for their prayers. I’m using this channel to invite them all to my 55th birthday party up on November 2, 2014</div>
