 no secret that weightlifting is good for you, but now a new study on 
brains and brawn suggests that going hard in the gym for as little as 20
 minutes can boost your long-term memory by 10 percent.<br /><br />“Our 
study indicates that people don’t have to dedicate large amounts of time
 to give their brain a boost,” study leader Lisa Weinberg, a graduate 
student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, said in a written 
statement. <br /><br />For the study, researchers asked 46 healthy young 
adults to try to remember a series of 90 photographs that were shown on a
 computer screen. Then half of the group worked out on a leg-extension 
exercise machine -- doing 50 reps -- while the other half sat in a chair
 and didn't exercise. The researchers then took saliva samples from each
 person.<br /><br />Two days later, the same men and women met with the 
researchers again to look at a series of 180 photographs, which included
 the 90 photos that were shown before. This time, the men and women were
 asked to recall which photos they had seen previously and which were 
new.<br /><br /><b>What did the researchers find?</b><br /><br />The people who 
exercised remembered around 60 percent of the photos they had seen 
before, while those who didn't exercise remembered only around 50 
percent.<br /><br />Previous research in older men and women (50 to 85 years
 old) has found that a brief workout improves memory due to the 
exercise-induced release of the stress hormone norepinephrine. 
Scientists have long known that the hormone, a chemical messenger in the
 brain, plays a strong role in memory.<br /><br />And it turns out that, in 
this new study, those people who exercised had increased measures of 
norepinephrine in their saliva samples. See the connection?<br /><br />“The 
findings are encouraging," study co-author Dr. Audrey Duarte, an 
associate professor of psychology at the institute, said in the 
statement. </span></span><br />

 without doing expensive fMRI scans, our results give us an idea of what
 areas of the brain might be supporting these exercise-induced memory

I greet and felicitate with all our countrymen and women of the Islamic faith as we celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Kabir.<br />
<br />
I also congratulate all believers who have successfully undertaken the Hajj this year as<br />
enjoined by Prophet Mohammed (May Peace Be Upon Him).<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
As they conclude the rites of the Hajj and prepare to return home, let 
us all join them in offering special prayers for greater security, 
peace, unity and progress in our dear country as well as for the 
peaceful and successful conduct of next year’s general elections.</div>

With this week’s issuance of a formal notice of the impending general 
elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), 
another national campaign season is now truly upon us and I urge all 
political leaders in the country to place the overriding interest of the
 well-<br />
being and progress of our fatherland above all other considerations in the coming campaigns and elections.<br />
<br />
My administration has done its sincere best in the past four years to 
implement its agenda for national transformation and move our country 
forward on several fronts.<br />
<br />
I thank the many individuals, stakeholders, groups, associations, 
non-governmental organisations, unions and political leaders from across
 the country who have, in recognition and appreciation of our efforts 
and commitment to repositioning our dear nation for more rapid growth 
and<br />
development, urged me to seek a second term in office.<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<br />
In deciding on an appropriate response to such calls, I will place the 
greater interests of national harmony, cohesion, unity, security, 
political stability, progress, equity, justice and fairness above any 
personal ambition or sectional agenda.<br />

I urge all other political leaders in the country to do the same. Let us
 all rise above unedifying, unpatriotic and selfish personal interests 
and divisive sectional agenda in the coming national elections.<br />
<br />
Let us also commit ourselves more to the sustenance of democracy and 
political stability which are essential prerequisites for the 
advancement of good governance, inclusive economic growth and rapid 
development.<br />
<br />
In spite of the significant progress we have made in the past four 
years, our dear nation continues to face critical challenges in some 
areas. I am convinced however that if we persevere and continue to build
 diligently on what the present administration has</div>

achieved, we will surely overcome all hindrances and fully establish a 
stronger, more united and prosperous nation that meets the aspirations

and generosity to the less privileged, impartial leadership and true

Anglican pastor Charles Githinji half dressed in a hotel room with a 
pretty young woman. Another man, claiming to be the woman's husband, 
bursts into the room with a television crew in tow. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The sheepish
 pastor scrambles for his clothes, but not before being quizzed by the 
people behind the camera. Kenyans began tweeting about the story using 
the hashtag#PantsDown. The phrase has appeared more than 2,500 times in 
the last few days, though not every instance was related to the pastor's
 story.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It was not 
an isolated incident. Similar videos on YouTube - all of which appear to
 expose Kenyan pastors in similar situations - have racked up hundreds 
of thousands of views.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In 
Githinji's case, some are convinced that a team of people colluded in an
 attempt to entrap the pastor, and make money from the footage. "It was 
stage managed," says Jackson Njeru, a prominent Kenyan blogger who 
created the controversial Facebook page Deadbeat Kenya. "When I watched 
the video, something was not adding up. The lady was smiling. She was 
laughing," he tells BBC Trending. He believes the woman, her "husband" 
and the television crew were working in collaboration - one of a number 
of groups that deliberately target pastors and other powerful 
individuals.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Ruth Nesoba,
 a BBC journalist based in Kenya, says "apparently what is emerging is a
 clique of freelance cameramen who are going round looking for these 
kind of stories." News outlets pay good money for the footage, she adds,
 as the stories attract wide audiences.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It isn't yet
 clear whether Githinji's encounter with the woman arose organically, or
 he was targeted in a sting operation. Either way, Nesoba thinks that 
for many Kenyans, it isn't the most important question. "People are 
asking: 'Whether he was lured or not, what is a pastor doing in bed with
 his p*nts down with a woman who is not is wife?' "</span><br />

complete invasion and destruction as was done to Libya; thanks to our

The news is everywhere that popular Nollywood actress, Ini Edo’s 
marriage to US-based businessman, Mr. Phillip Ehiagwina, had broken up. 
The news was initially received with mixed feelings. But some people, 
mostly fans of the actress, could not believe it until we gave an update
 on Thursday.<br />

Sources close to the couple said the breakup was due to allegations of 
cheating and distrust between Ini and Phillip. Also, they accused the 
groom’s family of aiding the dissolution of the marriage because the 
beautiful actress did not give birth to a child for her husband.<br />
