<a href="http://ogbongegist.com/" target="_blank">Ogbongegist.Com</a> has complained about
this trend severally, and the worst from our observation are Yoruba and
Igbo girls. Many are so arrogant they find it difficult to even say good
 morning to a man. How sad!</div>
<br />
Anyway, another Yoruba guy has waded into the issue. Popular Gospel
musician, Tosin Martins complained that the ladies we have today are not
 as submissive as our mothers and it's quite worrisome. He cited some
examples that he thinks make these women proud and the reasons they have
 not been submissive to their husbands.<br />
<div>
</div>
<div>
Tosin Martins has been married for 8 years now and here's what he to a
Schooltips Magazine reporter about the arrogance problem in many ladies
of today: </div>
<div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
Our women today are of a different breed. Our women today are not really
 like our mothers. The average woman today is not as submissive as their
 mothers and a guy who is not ready to overlook that weakness would have
 a problem with marriage. These days you have to argue and defend your
views and if it goes well, all parties can then agree. <span style="color: #cc0000;">It shouldn't be that way; there is a certain measure of honour a woman must give a man as the head</span>. </blockquote>
<b>Is your wife submissive?</b><br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6589160015449763735" name="more"></a>To the extent she can, she does her best to be fair
to her. She is probably maybe not as bad as your average girl. But the
truth is today’s woman struggles with you saying yes and she just
agrees. She would want to know why. She wants to give you her own side
of the story. She thinks she is making sense and you are not making
sense. <span style="color: #cc0000;">Today, a woman tells you she is travelling; she is not asking you for permission</span>. There is some individuality taking place. It’s a major struggle.<br />
<br />
<b>What do you think is responsible for this?</b><br />
I think is majorly because they have become their own people. They are
as educated as you are; they are [also] working as you are working, they
 are earning money and you are, they have a world view like you have.
They are empowered now and have their own voice and want to express.</div>

The leading governorship aspirant in Lagos State, under the platform of
All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, has said the
compelling need to take the developments recorded by former governors
of the state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the incumbent, Raji Fashola, SAN,
to another level, informed his ambition to govern the state in 2015.<br />
<br />
He insists his ambition has no ethnic colouration, stressing that the
various ethnic nationalities in the state will be carried along if he
picks his party nomination and wins the 2015 governorship election in
2015.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
Ambode spoke in Lagos on Monday at the commissioning of his campaign
secretariat and inauguration of campaign committees in all the local
governments across the state. According to him: "This campaign has no
coloration, so we are carrying everyone along. <span style="color: #cc0000;">Whether you are Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba or Urhobo, you have a place in this project. We are one</span>. We want to create a new level of leadership that will challenge the <i>status quo</i> to ensure that our people are freed from poverty. </blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
"The work we are going to do is for Lagos State. I want our people to do
 it selflessly without recourse to monetary gains. We have been working
on this project for a long time. We are here to present banners to all
local government areas in the state to enable our people carry out
house-to-house campaign in the 377 wards in the state.</blockquote>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6589160015449763735" name="more"></a><br />
"We have succeeded in bringing all the legacy groups together. These
groups are going to work for our victory in their various local
government areas. The reason for setting up these committees is to give
governance back to the communities. The standards set by our leader,
Tinubu and the actualisation of that dream by Governor Fashola, has to
be taken to another level to ensure continuity. Nobody was coerced to
come here. The population of the people here shows you the direction the
 state is headed to."<br />
<br />
<div>
This came as the Chief Imam of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Alhaji
 Abdulhakeem AbdulLateef, dismissed claims that the Muslim community
would not work for the victory of Ambode at the gubernatorial primaries
and governorship election. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
So far, Ambode looks good for the leadership of Lagos come 2015.</div>

Rivers APC commends Amaechi's strategies to eliminate Ebola

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
 </div>
<div>
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State (APC) has expressed
satisfaction with the way and manner the Governor Chibuike Rotimi
Amaechi Administration has decisively tackled the Ebola outbreak in the
State, urging people not to panic as the situation is under control. </div>
<div>
“Governor Amaechi did not only declare war on Ebola but has also stepped
 up and sustained the war against the disease. We wish to commend him
and his administration on this while at the same time appealing to
people of the State, including visitors, to fully cooperate with the
State authorities on measures rolled out to check the spread of the
disease,” Rivers APC said in a statement issued Monday in Port Harcourt
by the State Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
The party condemned the surreptitious way the Ebola Virus Disease was
imported into Rivers State late last month by a diplomat and the awkward
 way late Dr. Iyke Sam Enemuo decided to treat his Ebola patient in a
hotel without reporting the case to the appropriate quarters for
immediate action. </blockquote>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6589160015449763735" name="more"></a><br />
“Inasmuch as we do not wish to waste time on spilt milk, the seriousness
 with which Governor Amaechi intervened to arrest the situation gladdens
 our heart as a political party. As a visionary and focused Government,
even before the Ebola outbreak in Rivers State, the Amaechi
administration had released the sum of N300 million to the State
Ministry of Health to use in tackling the virus in case it eventually
arrived the State. Apart from this, the Rivers State Government through
the Ministry of Health planned ahead by approving a temporary quarantine
 site in Oduoha, Emohua Local Government Area of the State,” Rivers APC
said.<br />
<br />
The party also commended State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson
Parker, and his Technical Team for proving that the APC Government in
Rivers State is very concerned about the health and security of Rivers
people.<br />
<br />
It equally expressed appreciation for the assistance rendered by the
World Health Organization (WHO), Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) – also
known as Doctors Without Borders – the American Embassy and the Federal
Government to ensure that drastic measures are put in place to tackle
and eliminate Ebola from Rivers State and the entire country.<br />
<br />
The State APC noted with satisfaction that the Rivers State Government
in its determination to eliminate this unfortunate scourge has partnered
 with the World Health Organization. “In this regard, the Rivers State
Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and the Country
Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), Mr. Rui Vaz, have
 pledged to work together and join hands in battling the Ebola outbreak
in Rivers State. Governor Amaechi and Mr. Vaz made the joint resolve
after a meeting in Government House, Port Harcourt. Governor Amaechi
assured the WHO Country Representative that his government would do
everything possible to contain the disease in the state in collaboration
 with the World Health body,” Rivers APC said.<br />
<br />
The party added that “apart from these steps, the Governor on 28th
August, 2014, made a public broadcast to the people of Rivers State on
ways and means of checking Ebola and has had several meetings and
interactions with various segments of the society towards fashioning out
 the best strategies to exterminate the disease from the State. Some of
these strategies include the mobilization of all organs of governance in
 the State, the religious, traditional, inter-government organs, etc. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
While addressing these groups recently in the Government House, the
Governor called on religious and traditional leaders that include the
Muslim Community in Rivers State to collaborate and work with the State
Government to contain the Ebola virus in the State. Amaechi also warned
against stigmatization of people suspected to be infected with the Ebola
 virus. He said the Rivers State Government was doing its best to
contain and eliminate the disease in the state. He urged religious
leaders to preach about the disease in their churches and mosques as
well as traditional rulers in their various communities. He urged them
to encourage those under them to imbibe healthy living and wash their
hands regularly; pointing out that Ebola can be prevented and is not a
death sentence if properly managed.”<br />
<br />
Rivers APC enjoined the people not to panic but to immediately call the
Ebola emergency numbers 08167733939, 07036321076, 08033124314 or the
State Emergency Call Centre 112 if they see anyone with symptoms
indicative of diarrhea, high fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, excessive
weakness of the body and unexplained bleeding <br />

At this stage, is Doyin Okupe and all his Ogas still praying? Is it God
that will "send down fire" to defeat those Boko Haram idiots or the
Billions of Naira allocated for security should be used for the needful?<br />
<br />
As the rampaging Boko Haram insurgents continue their attacks in
Northern Nigeria, towards Maiduguri, it seems Nigerian soldiers are
nearing the giving up stage, with soldiers deserting and thousands of
innocent Nigerians in the areas fleeing the towns and villages.<br />
<br />
At night, a resident said he was awake and heard gun shots from a
distance. “Nobody can sleep anymore,” the resident of Maiduguri
township, who wanted to remain anonymous, confirmed.<br />
<br />
<b>Gwoza, Bama, Gulak, Michika, Duhu, Shuwa, Kirshinga captured by insurgents</b><br />
The terrorists have been capturing new cities on an almost daily basis.
They arrive in hijacked army vehicles, fight off the Nigerian troops and
 terrorise the residents.<br />
<br />
<b>Terrorists are better equipped —Military</b><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
The morale of the government troops is very low and the terrorists are
better equipped. Military officers said: “We cannot do anything against
Boko Haram, because most of the Boko Haram are using modern automatic
weapons and the military is using AK47s.”</blockquote>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6589160015449763735" name="more"></a><br />
<div>
Also, Senator Ahmed Zanna has cried out: “Boko Haram are committing all
kinds of atrocities killing and raping. At the same time they are taking
 young girls in batches and the city is littered with dead bodies.”<br />
Bama is 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) from Maiduguri and fell to the
Islamists four days ago. Senator Zanna recounts how the soldiers who
were supposed to defend Bama, refused to advance any further, noting,
“They were ill equipped and they just stayed in Kondudga.”<br />
<br />
<b>Sect gunning for Maiduguri</b><br />
Maiduguri would be a major win for Boko Haram in their hope of creating
an Islamist-ruled state. “Even a brief capture of Borno’s capital, will
be a significant symbolic victory for Boko Haram,” said Ryan Cummings, a
 South African security expert, who is also a member of the Nigerian
Security Networks. Capturing Maiduguri would give Boko Haram a very
strong boost, believes the Nigerian expert Nnamdi Obasi of the
International Crisis Group, added. With Maiduguri, the Islamists would
not only control a major city but also an international airport.<br />
<br />
According to Vanguard, a reporter in Mubi, Adamawa State, said the town can also fall prey to Boko Haram.<br />
<br />
“We all live in fear,” explained a resident. “Because soldiers come into
 our houses, take off their uniforms and put on civilian clothes. So if
the military is already fleeing the fight, we don’t stand a chance.”<br />
<br />
<b>Over 10,000 flee the fighting</b><br />
Thousands of people have fled the fighting. In Yola, the capital of
Adamawa State, residents have taken in those who had to leave their
homes. Ten people now live in one room and a woman who goes by the name
of Aisha explained their fate: “There is nobody left in our town.
Everyone has left, because the terrorists came into our town and they
killed the people. We are desperate for help.”<br />
<br />
In Maiduguri, residents are now also preparing to leave. “The people are
 scared. Many have already left the city,” said a woman who chose to
remain anonymous. “<span style="color: #cc0000;">We who remain here, hope that God will help us</span>.”<br />
<br />
The residents have armed themselves with sticks. They no longer believe
that the army will defend them. Thousands of young men have now gathered
 in Maiduguri and are demanding that the government recognize them as
local defence groups, so that they can officially support the soldiers.<br />
<br />
“There are soldiers in the city, but they are not well-armed,” explained
 a resident who had trouble sleeping. Even the Senator Ahmed Zanna is
unsure whether the army can defend Maiduguri: “If Bama with an army of
1,000 can fall within three to five hours, then there is every
likelihood that these people will advance towards Maiduguri.”<br />
<br />
<b>Bama under government control —Official</b><br />
In the meantime, official sources say that Bama is once again under
government control and that Maiduguri is safe for now. Nevertheless, the
 residents remain skeptical.<br />
<br />
So, Nigeria is now a state where people call on God for a physical war? Oh dear, what a sorry state!</div>

The Council of Babalawos in Northern Nigeria has urged security agencies
 in the country to investigate a former governor of Borno State, Ali
Modu Sheriff and Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika within 40 days otherwise it
would be forced to sue the men for allegedly financing terrorism.<br />
<br />
In a statement made available to our correspondent and signed by its
chairman, Mr. Fabunmi Aiyesoro and vice chairman, Mr. Ogunwale
Ogunshola, the Council regretted that 48 of its members had died in the
hand of the Boko Haram since 2011.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“If the Federal Government refuses to do this, our members shall resort

<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6589160015449763735" name="more"></a><br />
According to Punch, the council further called on the government to
dislodge the insurgents from all the forests and villages in Adamawa,
Borno and Yobe states with immediate effect.<br />
<br />
“Our members source herbs from forests like Sambisa, Biu, Gwoza and Hong
 and taking over these areas by this retrogressive group has denied us
the opportunity of contributing to the health and well-being of the
people.<br />
<br />
“Babalawos are Nigerians and deserve the same recognition accorded Imams
 and Pastors by government. Many churches and mosques have received

or any form of monetary compensation since the Boko Haram problem

Boko Haram is carrying out daring attacks and seriously gaining grounds,
 sad but true. In a bid to expand the territory of their Islamic
caliphate, Boko Haram staged an attack to capture Mubi in Adamawa State,
 the home town of the Chief of Defence staff, Air Chief Marshall Alex
Badeh, on Monday.<br />
<br />
They engaged a contingent of Nigerian troops who are fighting back to
take hold of the town. Though the town is yet to fall but the casualty
already suffered by the military may soon force the Nigerian soldiers to
 surrender their hold on the city just as they did to Michika, another
major town captured.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">

A source in the town also disclosed that the deadly insurgents vowed to

 was returning after seeing off a friend. She said she was r*ped for
five hours before she was let off the hook by the soldier.<br />
<br />
<b>How it happened</b><br />
According to her, the soldier allegedly ordered her to climb the
motorcycle while threatening to stab her with a knife. She said: “It
happened on Friday, August 29, 2014. I was coming back to my room after
seeing off a friend. He accused me of being a cultist for moving about
around that time, but I denied it. He then ordered me to climb his
motorcycle, but I pleaded with him that he should let me go.<br />
<br />
“He removed a knife and said that he would stab me if I refused to obey
him. So scared, I climbed the Okada and he took me to the Operation
Burst office in Eruwa.<br />
<br />
“When we got there, he forcefully led me to a dark area under a tree and
 ordered me to remove my dress to enable him see if I had tattoos on my
body...<br />

“I told him I did not have tattoos and that he should let me go. He then
 removed the knife again and said that he would slaughter me like a ram
if I failed to ‘cooperate’ and that I would be buried like many other
girls who had failed to cooperate in the past, and nobody would trace my
 death to him.<br />
<br />
“Sensing danger, I removed my clothes. He ordered me to lie down under
the tree and had s*x with me several times while I was crying.<br />
<br />
“He r*ped me till 3:30am and I complained of catching cold. He entered
into the office and brought out a bottle of beer. He gave it to me to
hold for him.<br />
<br />
“Later he said he was going to bring a blanket for me to cover my body. I
 waited for about 30 minutes, but when he did not return, I dressed up
and ran away.”<br />
<br />
<b>Case reported at Police station</b><br />
The victim’s counsel, Mr. Adeosun, confirmed her story, saying: “In the
morning of Saturday, August 30, 2014, the victim called her parents on
the telephone and told them what happened. It was the parents that came
to brief our office. We thereafter advised that the victim should report
 to the Police Station at Eruwa, which she did.”<br />
<br />
When the matter was reported to the security outfit, the girl identified
 the rapist among other security operatives paraded before her.<br />
<br />
To worsen her ordeal, the Eruwa General Hospital where she went for test
 did not help matter. She said on arrival in the hospital, the doctor
she met told her to buy hand gloves which she did.<br />
<br />
She said: “The doctor told me to lie down and use his phone torchlight
to examine my private part and wrote a report that although there was no
 trace of semen, the private part had been tampered with.”<br />
<br />
It was gathered that the doctor claimed he could not carry out test on
the inner part of the vagina because the hospital did not have the
facilities to carry out such test.<br />
<br />
<b>Unfortunately the result of the test did not confirm r*pe:</b><br />
“The outfit’s Second in Command and the DPO took the complainant to the
Eruwa General Hospital for medical examination, the result of which they
 said proved negative.<br />
<br />
“The soldier will, however, be charged for abandoning his duty post in
the night without permission against standing instructions in the
Operation Burst’s code of conduct.”</div>

Boko Haram is devising tactics to chase Nigerian soldiers and take over
the residence of a GOC, hoisting their flags in big Nigerian towns,
declaring caliphate, etc. But what do we get from Presidency boys who
are suppose to give us hope of a better counter strategy? They are
praying.<br />
<br />
President Jonathan's senior aide on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, has
become a prayer warrior overnight over this Boko Haram madness. I also
saw a post somewhere of Nigerian Military calling for prayers in the
fight against Boko Haram.<br />
<br />
And this is just our problem in Nigeria. Men who steal public funds,
enjoy themselves with small girls in all kinds of hotels in the world,
now coming out to talk of prayer. Who is fooling who?<br />
