Facts have emerged that the ground on which Pastor Anita Oyakhilome is 
seeking to divorce her husband, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ 
Embassy, is not adul-tery but on behaviours that suggest that she cannot
 ‘reasonably be expected’ to  live with him.<br />

There had been media reports that Anita decided to divorce Pastor Chris 
based on allegations of ‘adul-tery’ and ‘unreasonable behaviours’ but a 
copy of the court papers for the divorce process filed at the  Principal
 Registry of the Family Division (PRFD) of  the High Court of Justice in
 possession of THISDAY,  revealed that she applied for “divorce on the 
ground that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.”<br />

But in her statement of case in support of petition at PRFD with number 
FD14001650, Pastor Anita however, accused her husband of having 
inappropriate relationship with some of his female staff members...</blockquote>

According to the statement, “the wife has discussed with the husband his
 inappropriate relationship with some of his female staff members. She 
has explained that this has given her cause for concern. The husband has
 minimised her worries and taken no step to alleviate her grievances.”<br />

In fact, the statement indicated no allegation of adul-tery as there was 
no co-respondent to the petition and no names were mentioned.<br />
<br />
Dictionary.com defines adul-tery as “voluntary s*xual int*rcourse between a married person and a person who is not their spouse.”<br />
<br />
The statement reads in part: “The wife submits that her marriage to the 
husband has irretrievably broken down and there is no hope of 
reconciliation. The wife will submit that it is the husband’s 
unreasonable behaviours which have led to this.<br />
<br />
“The husband and the wife are both Pastors. The husband undertakes his 
work, in the main, in South Africa and Nigeria. The wife lives in the 
United Kingdom. The wife will say that they have lived separately for 16
 years and over this time have drifted apart. The wife has come to 
realise that the husband will only visit the UK for annual church 
programmes that he holds rather than to be with this wife. The wife 
feels that he has been unavailable as a father to their children during 
their developing years.<br />

“The wife feels that their marriage suffered under the pressure of their
 work. They would rarely spend time together due to the husband 
unavailability. Special occasions such as Christmas, Birthdays and 
family occasions and anniversaries past them by and their rarely spent 
any time together as a family as the husband was more devoted to his 
work than he was to them.<br />
<br />
“The wife feels that she has been used to portray and enhance the 
husband’s image as a family man when the reality is that there is no 
existing relationship between them. She feels that she has been present 
for official functions simply for his convenience. On occasions she has 
been copied into his travel itinerary which has been given to him by his
 staff on a need to know basis.<br />
<br />
“The wife has tried to discuss her concerns with the husband. He claims 
that she is carnal and he is insensitive to her feelings and her needs.”<br />
<br />
“As a result of the husband’s attitude to their marriage, the wife will 
say that he is virtually not recognised as a married man in the 
ministry. His teachings and beliefs on marriage is that the husband is a
 master and a controller and the wife will say that his concept of 
biblical; submission is so extreme that it is impossible for her to meet
 his expectations. She feels humiliated by the way he treats her in the 
presence of his close female staff members and she feels that she has 
been taken for granted which has become unbearably stressful for her.<br />
<br />
“The wife will say that the relationship with the husband is 
non-existent to the point that his itinerary which was announced  
publicly at the beginning of the year had no provision for time with his
 family. His staff members who travel with him organise both his 
personal and professional life without any input from her. The wife will
 say that she is treated with disregard almost like akin to an intruder.<br />
<br />
“The wife feels that she has been mentally, physically and emotionally 
deprived of the experience of a marital relationship. She feels that the
 husband has persistently judged her and his communication with her has 
been unduly harsh. The wife knows that he was hard to please and has 
been extremely critical.<br />

Prophet T.B. Joshua gave another surprising revelation in his church 
service on Sunday 7th August 2014, specifically calling for prayers for 
Pope Francis of the Catholic Church, as well as prophesying an imminent

Indeed all is not well. Pastor Christian Oyakhilome has finally 
addressed the allegations levelled against him after more than a week of
 maintaining silence on the divorce suit filed against him by his wife.</div>

Speaking on Sunday evening during the monthly global communion service 
of the church, Pastor Chris said the allegations were “crazy” and 
“stupid”. He acknowledged that divorce is unbiblical but suggested he 
could consider the option should his wife insist on it. He also 
criticized the media for prying into his private life and urged members 
of his church to pray for his estranged wife:<br />

I understand that some media houses particularly in Nigeria and maybe in
 South Africa (I dont know) but there are some of them that have been 
writing some real stupid things...real stupid things, an 
errrrhh...frivolous charges...that's crazy.</blockquote>

A man of God...you have to understand something about a Man of God. A 
man of God is not just someone who worships God or who preaches God. A 
man of God is directed by God, set on course by God...</blockquote>

If you study the scriptures you will not find one Man of God going 
against God, sinning against God, the only thing you can find is a Man

anger of the people, not because he wanted to do something against the 
Lord. No Man of God does something against the Lord. Are you hearing me?
 No!...a Man of God is set on course, there is a type of life that he's 
been given, alright?<br />

2. Then you have a young man, a young prophet, he wasnt named, he was 
deceived by another Man of God, and so he went in the direction God says
 don't go. That's only the kind of thing you'd find about a Man of God 
when he misses the message of God or he acts beyond what God said. But a
 Man of God setting himself in defiance to the word of God and living 
like they (media houses) are writing those stupiid things that I did 
this, that i did that...You don't know what a Man of God is..I don't go 
in that direction..that's crazy.<br />
<br />
I wasn't accused of those things you(media houses) said, nor did i 
commit those stupiid thing that you said...and i don't need to go to 
that level and such discussions. Jesus Christ was accused by many, with 
lots of frivolous charges. There would ALWAYS be those who'd like for it
 to be true, but you know, inspite of the accusations against Jesus, it 
didnt change who he was!<br />
<br />
There are preachers and there are Men of God. I'm not a preacher, I'm a 
Man of God...understand the difference. And I go in the way I'm asked to
 go, it may cause some troubles with individuals, but that's not because
 I've done something wrong.<br />
<br />
And when it comes to Rev. Anita, what I'd say to you is pray for her, 
don't act like 'why why why is she....' . Married to a Man of God does 
not automatically make you Woman of God! You can make mistakes, but you 
know, people expects the wife of a Minister to definitely be at the 
level of the Minister, and so they ay be looked upon and the 
expectations maybe like that, but it's a positional thing! alright!<br />
<br />
If a Man of God is married, it does not automatically mean the wife of 
the Man of God is therefore a Women of God! That's not how it is in the 
Bible. That's why you don't really find wives of Men of God listed in 
the bible. How many of them? Who was Peter's wife? Did you ever know her
 name? You'd never find out! Who was John's wife? Did you ever read the 
name? What about all the other apostles? How namy are registerd in the 
bible? You never find their names, why? Ask God when you find HIm!

So, they are little things, don't try to make something big out of them,
 and emmm.. we're journeying, doing the things that God's called us to 
do...Christians should not have a divorce, it shouldn't be, but you see,
 that doesn't mean a Christian may not take the step. They may do it, 
but that doesn't make it right. And we shouldn't take one another to 
court, but when it happens, not because we wanna go there, someone is 
taking us there.<br />
<br />
That's a problem, be wise, stay focused in the Word of God, and don't 
let those who want to feast on things like this including Christians. 
You know there are Christians who like things like this, they wanna make
 something big about it. You should only say those things that are from 
God, and become honorable in your speech, Alright! ...and judge nothing 
before the time...be wise, Glory to God.<br />

So we are going greater and greater and greater by the power of the 
living Christ. Hallelujah!So, we are not walking in sin and living in 
sin and hoping we can mix sin and righteousness together, NO!, we are 
the manifestations of His righteousness, we walk in that light only, and

In what is fast becoming the norm, gunmen stormed the Federal Radio 
Cooperation of Nigeria Training School on Friday Lagos State, r*ping and
 robbing many of the female trainee journalists.<br />

An eye witness in the school said that was the third time the armed men 
would be attacking the school. He said: “The armed robbers were many. 
They attacked the school last week, last two weeks and now this week. 
They always r*pe the girls and dispossess  others, including male 
students and workers on night duties of their valuables.”<br />

“Many of them broke into our offices, remove burglar-proofs, r*ped girls
 who were in training and living in our hostel. They collected money, 
phones and laptops. This is the third time this will be happening,” said
 a staff.</blockquote>
The attacks on the school have left many of the workers shocked, 
especially as policemen were supposed to be manning the school gate...<br />

The last attack occurred at about 2am, with the gunmen targeting the 
financial records offices. Three of the gunmen wore masks and focused on

drawn from across different radio stations in the country who are on 
special courses. There are also private students studying broadcast 
journalism.<br />

The insider added: “The gunmen are usually many whenever they attack. 
The first time they came, they appeared to be searching for something as
 they ransacked all offices.<br />
<br />
This time, they came with three or four men wearing masks. They were 
apparently the people who wanted something from the school or offices. 
When they came this time, they were the ones doing the frantic 
searching. Whether they succeeded in getting what they wanted this time 
around is what we don’t know.”<br />

Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, however said only a case of burglary was reported.<br />
<br />
“I just got to hear today that the place has been burgled three times. 
But they had never reported. It’s only today that an official complaint 
was lodged. No case of r*pe was reported. Nobody has come forward to say
 that she was r*ped,” she said.<br />

The highly dreaded Boko Haram sect on Sunday continued its expansionist 
drive by overrunning Michika and Uba in Adamawa   State. The capture of 
the two towns brings to 13, the number of communities now controlled by 
the sect in the North East.<br />

News of the capture of Michika and Uba coincided with lamentation on 
Sunday by the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Baba Jidda,   
that most parts of Borno had been taken over by Boko Haram.<br />

A security source said the sect which took over Gulak on Friday night, moved from there to Uba.<br />

 50 pick -up vans and hundreds of motorcycles, they retreated because

It was gathered on Sunday that they also headed for Mubi, the host community to the Adamawa State University.<br />

A source, who confided in one of correspondents, said that the military 
later deployed fighter jets and helicopters in the areas to chase out 
the   insurgents .<br />

He added that eight trucks carrying some troops   were sighted going to   the troubled areas.<br />
<br />
It was further gathered that the Adamawa State Acting Governor, Alhaji 
Adamu Fintiri, on learning that many of the residents of the troubled 
communities were fleeing,   dispatched six luxury buses   to move   them
 to Yola.<br />

Our source said that the insurgents, who were firing   into the air, 
were advising the people not to flee because they had only come to 
engage the military in gun battle.<br />

He said, “The Boko Haram members are now in Uba and Michika, the headquarters of Michika Local Government Area.<br />

“The insurgents who were moving in over 50 hillux vans and hundreds of motorcycles, were   wielding   assorted weapons.<br />
<br />
“When they started advancing from Madagali to Uba, the soldiers who were
 in Uba withdrew to Michika and they(insurgents) headed for Michika and 
Mubi.<br />
<br />
“There was no shootout between them and the soldiers even though eight 
trucks carrying troops were sighted on the road leading to those 
communities.   Air Force fighter jets were also said to have pursued 
them.<br />
<br />
“Several people fled the communities to avoid being killed by insurgents.”<br />
<br />
One of the   residents of Michika, who is now taking refuge in Hong,   
Joseph Kwaya, said, “We left the town based on the instruction of the 
military. As I am   talking to you, majority of the people in the area 
have left   out of fear.<br />

I am, evidently, one of the admirers of Professor Attahiru Jega, the 
chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Not 
that I have always liked him though. When he was president of the 
Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and I was in my final year 
at the University of Lagos, I hated him and his ASUU. They went on 
strike for four months and I almost lost an academic year. I hated them.
 I just wanted to graduate and move on with my life. I remember watching
 NTA News obediently every night, hoping to hear some news that the 
strike had been called off. It was traumatic. I was impatient. I was not
 ready to look at the issues from the lecturers' perspective. I just 
hated Jega and his ASUU.<br />
<br />
But at the back of my mind, I liked Jega. I admired him. Calm and cool, 
he was a dogged fighter who courageously led the lecturers' 
confrontation with the military government over issues affecting 
university education in Nigeria some of which remain unaddressed 23 
years after! If you left Nigeria 35 years ago and only returned 
recently, you would be surprised that the same issues are still being 
discussed. Electricity, roads, armed robbery and such like. For 
instance, General Muhammadu Buhari, as head of state, fired (and 
reinstated) resident doctors in 1984. And 30 years after, President 
Goodluck Jonathan fired (and reinstated) resident doctors over the same 
issues!<br />

The more things seem to change, the more they remain the same. In 
politics, we are still discussing the same issues: electoral justice... I
 have watched Jega closely since his appointment as INEC chairman in 
2010 and I have seen him grow on the job. </blockquote>

He has applied some intellectual depth to the electoral process and his 
commission improved tremendously in service delivery, given what I see 
as a free hand by Jonathan. And whenever Jega gets things wrong, he 
raises up his hands and says: "I'm sorry, we messed up." This is very 
unNigerian and, to me, an indication that we would get things right one 
day in this country. There are a lot of good and upright Nigerians out 
there who have not yet had the opportunity to show that things can be 
done differently and with integrity.</div>

However, I am getting worried about some vibes coming out of INEC in 
recent times. The first is that they said they don't understand the 
meaning of political campaign. We've been seeing posters and billboards 
and rallies but INEC is in a tight corner in trying to define if these 
are political campaigns or not and who should be held responsible. If, 
for instance, a Simon Kolawole, who is not a politician, buys a 
newspaper page to campaign for a Waziri Adio to become president of 
Nigeria, is that a violation of the laws restricting campaigns to a 
specific timetable produced by INEC? If politicians are granting 
interviews promoting the ambitions of their associates, is that a 
violation of the law? I think INEC should be able to sort this out 
without much drama.<br />
<br />
Two, and very disturbing, is the recent creation of additional polling 
units across the country. I have read a lot of commentaries on the 
development, and I did not really pay attention to it until I was 
confronted with the raw details. The exercise doesn't look pretty to me.
 Something is not adding up. After cleaning up the voter register, INEC 
discovered that rather than 70 million registered voters, we could only 
verify 60 million. The registration of ghost voters was recorded all 
over the country, North and South, and so no state or section of the 
country can lay any claim to sainthood in the s*xing-up of figures. We 
will discuss this more in the future.<br />
<br />
After cleaning up the list, INEC took a step that shows a questionable 
distribution of the new 30,000 polling units. INEC has to explain to 
Nigerians the logic behind the sharing. Is this necessary? Why is it 
necessary? This has to be well addressed without leaving any room for 
doubt and conjecture. INEC spoke about distributing the new units on a 
formula of 85 per cent proportionality and 15 per cent equality. How? 
How did INEC arrive at such criteria? If the idea is to allocate 500 
voters per one unit based on the number of registered voters, then so 
let it be. Why equality? Why proportionality? Why 15 per cent? Why 85 
per cent? Is it not about smoother logistics? If the previous polling 
units were not well distributed, leaving some states short-changed, and 
INEC wants to correct the anomaly, we need to be enlightened about it.<br />
<br />
Luckily, Jega loves to be scientific in his explanations. He would do a 
good job by explaining to Nigerians the rationale behind the move. We 
are in a very political season and we need not stoke further tension. We
 are given to analyzing things in Nigeria as North vs South and I am 
already reading a lot of that in the media.  Personally, I believe there
 is no part of Nigeria where people do not try to tamper with figures. I
 don't even believe our population is up to 170 million. During 
censuses, communities and states go a long way in inducing demographic 
officials to write favorable figures for them because of the sharing of
 the national cake.<br />
<br />
Also, during voter registration exercises, the roll is usually longer 
than actual. Registers are heavily padded. A little village with a 
population of 5,000, including toddlers, will come up with a voting 
population of 12,000 or more. Everybody is trying to be smart. Che*ting 
is so easy for us. That is why voter turn-outs are considered 
ridiculously low given the number of registered voters on the roll. The 
moment you roll out tight security and people are unable to hij*ck 
ballot boxes or engage in ballot-stuffing, the turn-out is always "low",
 no matter the crowd that trooped out to vote. This happens all over 
Nigeria, not just one part.<br />
<br />
Given all these complexities, I am not convinced that INEC needed to be 
creating polling units at this critical stage. What is broken? What are 
they trying to fix? How are they going to do this without reviving 
suspicion and discontent? Figures are very delicate in the country and 
INEC should come clean so that nobody will accuse them of playing this 
old game. I will not cast any stone at Jega yet until I hear his 
explanations. Maybe there is something he knows that we don't know yet. 
By the way, Mathematics has never been my favourite subject since I was 
born.</div>

negotiator Stephen Davis to help broker peace with the Boko haram 
insurgents. Davis in an interview with Vanguard corroborated the FG 
stance but he added that Boko haram members have promised to release the
 Chibok girls if their sponsors were arrested. Below is an excerpt of

government or any other party. I went to Nigeria in late April in an 
effort to facilitate a handover of the Chibok captives after discussing 
such a possibility with former commanders of JAS (Jama’atu Ahlul Sunnah 
Lih Da’awa wal Jihad otherwise known as JAS) and others close to Boko 
Haram.</span></div>

 gave a radio interview to the ABC in Australia which  subsequently told
 me that after the transcript was posted to their online site, it had 
been picked up in the UK and Sky News requested an interview. In the 
hope of bringing attention to the many other girls and boys kidnapped by
 Boko Haram, I agreed to a television interview. That interview took 
place in Channel 7 studios in Australia and it was at that point that I 
was told it was an interview with Arise TV. I had not heard of Arise TV 
and did not know it was owned by a Nigerian or indeed that it had any 
association with Nigeria. At the time of giving the TV interview, I was 
of the understanding that it would be broadcast by Sky News in the UK. 
On Mr Obiagbena, I have not met him or ever been contacted by him.</span></div>

 Nigerians find it extremely difficult to understand how the former 
Chief of the Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ihejirika, who actually fought Boko 
Haram elements and was accused of genocide could be linked with 
sponsoring the violent group.</span></b></div>

 is much easier to understand Mr Sheriff’s alleged association with Boko
 Haram than any association of Mr Ihejirika. Mr Sheriff  was  said to 
have a long history of promoting groups to assist in his past efforts to
 win the governorship of Borno State.  On 29 July 2009, there was a 
confrontation with security officers at Mamudo Village, along 
Potiskum/Damaturu Road, Yobe. 33 JAS members were killed. Later that 
night, there was a long battle with combined security operatives at 
Railway Terminus, Maiduguri, Borno State. Scores were killed and the 
JAS  operational base was destroyed. Yusuf was subsequently captured by 
the military and handed over to the police. The JAS alleged that it was 
on Sheriff’s orders that Yusuf was executed in Maiduguri on 30 July 
2009. Shekau was presumed killed in the same battle and a corpse was 
identified as that of Shekau. Thus the remaining JAS leaders made it 
clear their intention was to kill Sheriff and so it is right that 
Sheriff claims he is a victim of  JAS. The Boko Haram we see today is 
not the JAS that was operational under Yusuf. Shekau emerged in mid-2010
 and publicly claimed the leadership of a reinvigorated JAS.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 130%;">Shekau
 formed Ansaru which he used for kidnapping and beheading victims. This 
behaviour was a major departure from the original mandate of the JAS 
which was to purify Islam and return it to the behaviour example in the 
life of the Prophet. Many among the JAS leadership are no longer active 
and others have been killed. This has allowed Shekau to take the JAS to 
more extreme action and expanded the kidnapping, bombing and 
slaughtering. The Boko Haram we have today is a much expanded Ansaru. 
What we see now is not the Yusufiya which wanted very much to settle 
scores with Sheriff.  It is Boko Haram as a partner to ISIS and Al 
Shabaab.</span></div>

 I will offer an opinion as to the motives of the sponsors of Boko 
Haram.The political sponsors of Boko Haram seem to think that they can 
use Boko Haram to terrorise Nigeria to demonstrate that the current 
government cannot ensure the security of Nigerian citizens both Muslim 
and Christian. Therein the sponsors assume they can undermine any 
efforts of the current government to be re-elected in 2015. Herein lies 
the flaw for the conflict and instability currently being fanned suits 
the aims of Al Qa’eda and the architects of terrorism. Should the 
sponsors of Boko Haram win government in 2015, they will likely find 
that they cannot turn Boko Haram off or that Boko Haram will demand 
control of at least Borno State in return for reducing their attacks. 
Borno State may be just the beginning of an expanding caliphate.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 130%;">Several
 Boko Haram commanders and other persons close to and respected by Boko 
Haram have told me the names of some of the sponsors of Boko Haram. They
 have also described how some funds are transferred and arms made 
available. I have made public some of that information. I have also been
 told by some commanders that if  one of the sponsors  is arrested, they
 will surrender, release the girls and give  information on the 
sponsors. Not all Boko Haram commanders will follow this lead but it may
 be a firm step towards dismantling or at least isolating Boko Haram.</span>
